You burn a ton of calories with the kettle bell. Just doing kettle bell swings for 15 min I can burn 300 calories. Since you are doing a class I would guess you could burn more. Get a Heart Rate Monitor!!! That way there is no guessing.

I disagree. There are cicumstances where this can occur. I am hypothyroid so I can pack muscle on like I am a raging roider but struggle to lose the fat. Weight is weight but based off bodyfat% I can gain muscle and lose fat...but my endocrine system is a mess.

I think it is supposed to make your hair less brittle. I haven't had any issues and they just bumped me up to 125mcg of synthroid. It is replacing a hormone you are lacking so don't understand having you be "normal" would cause your hair to fall out.

Jenny.....I went out and got a cheap heart rate monitor for this reason. Make sure you get one with the chest strap. It will tell you the actual calories burned. For example, my Nike+ chips said I burned around 600 calories on a run I did. My heart rate monitor said I burned around a 1000. My course is a tough hill course…

I know I do...and we should get together with our spouses. I was thinking if we could get a group together maybe we could do a fitness club. The have these running clubs etc. Thought maybe we can do something similar but include whatever...kayaking, hiking, biking, a 5K, charity walk etc.

You may experience signficant losses at first but then your body will slow your metabolism down. Last March when my thryoid went Kaput....I signed up for a marathon in the fall...only running one official race prior to that (a 5K) Find something that is outside your comfort zone around NYE like a 10K, 15K, Half Marathon..something and go for it!

Agree with everyone else...bump up your cals. If that doesn't work then maybe see your doctor and get your thyroid checked.

Because everyone needs to line their pockets. It isn't just the manufacturers, retailers jack the prices up quite a bit. I audit them so I see what they pay and what they charge.
