  • I am hypothyroid, under performing parathyroid, and adrenal issues. I am not sure what causes what but the worse would be fatigue and gout. I am eating vegetarian and avoiding alcohol and still got gout this year. It isn't just in my toes but my whole body. I have broken bones, sports injuries, etc....nothing this painful.…
  • Welcome!
  • Same here. I am the cook in the house. I just adapt what I make them for myself. Turkey burger no bun, more veggies for me, etc. On the weekends I will BBQ some chicken or lean grass fed beef and put it in the fridge for those days the kids want pizza or something like that.
  • How about just load cheese, extra carbs, larger portions on their plates? You eat smaller amount of carbs and don't dump all the extra stuff on it?

  • Meant to hit quote and not reply...this was for the guy who said he got jealous of his wife.
  • Maybe it isn't the celeb thing as much as she doesn't react that way with you?
  • I was drinking 7 cans of Diet Mt Dew a day. Did a three day juice fast and now only drink green tea and water. Didn't have the bad caffeine headaches or anything which was surprising.
  • Live in Coastal Greater Portland! Anyone feel free to add me!

  • Carbs in moderation don't seem to affect me. If I eat a couple of starch heavy meals in a row then I definitely get bloated. I trained for a marathon last year, barely lost any weight. I did shorter more intense workout and did better. The more I excercise the less I lose or in some cases I gain. You might want to read…
  • Are you Hypothyroid? Liver issues? Read up on Reverse T3. If you endocrine or adrenal system is messed up this will happen. I trained and ran a marathon last year and barely lost anything. Its how they diagnosed my hypothyroid as well as the other things screwed up with my endocrine system. Basically for me I need to do…
  • Thanks guys!
  • I know where you are, I was there last year and for years before that. They thought I had MS for a while and a slew of other neurological issues. I second finding a better doctor, or supplementing with a Naturpath. Also I would ask that they test all your hormone levels. My testosterone was low as well and treating that…
  • You are a good friend showing such concern for them : )
  • See...the thing is my ring is normally almost falling off my finger. It hasn't happened since, or at least I haven't woken up with it happening.
  • I have been up and down for a while...but saturday was a first. Never had it so bad that my finger was going numb from the ring. Have been watching my sodium but that day I didn't.
  • It is water weight...we are like camels. I have done the primal diet for two days and have dropped about 7 lbs. I can tell my face is less bloated as are other areas. I am the same as you...will get my weight down...then bam back up again. I slowly inch down over time but it continues to work this way. I think wheat/gluten…
  • Yes, thanks to everyone in this group and hypothryoid. I have done primal/no carb for two days and I am down 7lbs. I know this is mostly water weight but with my hypothyroid that is just as good as fat right now. It has been frustrating the past year training and running a marathon and losing little weight. I am hoping…
  • THank you so much for this link!
  • Thank you, that is how I felt. I know some are more purists but I have to do the best I can with the budget I have. I am going to try and start incorporating some of the foods into my families meal plans. My kids might riot but I have handled worse : )
  • 125 mcg of synthroid....going in for a follow up in a few days so it might change.
  • I was diagnosed this summer with hypothyroid. Training for a marathon, logging food and wasn't losing weight. I nearly quit training for the marathon I was so down about not losing any weight. Trying to figure this all out myself. Equally stressed and frustrated as others on here. We will get through this!
  • Well....I am not sure what goes where as far as symptoms. My whole endocrine system is shutting down. They thought I had MS for a long time as my mother had it. I saw 4 different neuro's and finally I decided to see a woman D.O. She found that I had rickets level vitamin D and so went my path to the thyroid etc. I had…
  • Wow...just want to say thank you to all who have posted. A lot of good info here. I am on synthroid trained and ran a marathon this past summer and lost little weight. That's when they looked at my thyroid and rest of my endocrine system. Parathyroids are shutting down as well as low testosterone. Are there foods which can…
  • I only did 7 miles walking...did something to my heel. Hopefully can get back out running this week.
  • 12/2-4.43 Miles (Hill Course) Going out later today.
  • I am in! Let's go into the new year on a high note!
  • Your gun time is from when the gun goes off till you cross the finish line. So if you were way in the back of the pack at the start it would take you some time to get to the starting line and your chip to be read. Chip time is from when you cross the start to when you cross the finish (when you chip is read on the mats.)
  • I got a decent one at Walmart for $50 with a chest strap. You can get one that is just the watch and you touch the face for even cheaper.
