Drop it like it's hot . . . 3559 for me this week. :)

If it's working, then I would keep it the way is is for now. When you hit a plateau, then you can change things up. Welcome to MFP! And good luck on your journey! :)

I have the same problem with some of the moves. I generally do every other rep of the arm movement while still doing every rep of the leg movement (if that makes sense) or I just skip the arms altogether. And if I feel like my shoulder is cramping, I stop for a second and stretch. It also helps to make sure I'm well…

They could be including things like cleaning/housework or other daily activities. And really, you can burn a lot more calories when you are overweight because of the extra weight added. If someone is "cheating" on their exercise log, then they are really only cheating themselves. But I guess I want to give them the benefit…

I would go with praise and encouragement. But also talk about how amazing you feel when you load up on fruits and veggies, or how you feel after a good workout. I've been struggling with getting my husband to eat healthier for over a year now, and he goes back and forth between eating only fast food during the day and…

Checking in for Drop it like it's hot! 3607 burned last week (7/18 - 7/24). :)

bump (because I was about to post the same question) :)

Love this! <3

I struggle with this too. I have mine set for 40-30-30, and mostly it works for me. But it's so easy for me to reach my fat goal and have a ton more protein left to eat. I'm curious to see what other people suggest for low-fat/high protein foods. I know most lunch meat qualifies, but it's so high in sodium. Low-fat cottage…

I've been working on a healthier recipe, and while I'm not satisfied that it's perfect yet, my husband and kids eat them up fast whenever I bake muffins. Which means my kids are eating squash & zucchini and not complaining about it. :) This is the current recipe I'm working with. 1-1/2 c. whole wheat flour 1/2 c. white…

My husband & I watched Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead this weekend also. I've been trying to get our whole family to eat more fruits and veggies for the last year, and my husband is supportive but not into it 100%. He loves his meat and potatoes. lol But now he is excited to do a juice fast, and I'm excited that he's motivated! I…

I just love the self-righteous. Yes, I am uninformed. I ask questions to gain knowledge. :)

You mean 45 points total? What did the other team get for last week? Drop it like it's hot!! :)

For everyone that had encouraging posts, I really appreciate the feedback. I've considered doing yoga or pilates, but I feel like they don't burn enough calories for the limited time I have to exercise. I still have a lot of fat to lose, so I've focused mainly on circuit training to get the cardio and strength done at the…

Thank you for answering my question without making me feel like a freak. lol I don't purposely work my calves, but thinking back on my normal routine, a lot of it does use those muscles. I'l start changing some my routine to use my calves less & hopefully that will help. I'm only using 5 lb weights for my arms. I don't…

So you were saying to up the weight and lower the reps? Because I took it like you were brushing my question off as dumb because women don't bulk up, and I'm guessing he read it that way too. :)

Before this challenge, I was averaging 1700 burned weekly, so I'm definitely stepping up my efforts! Most days during the week, I'm doubling my workouts, and then I'm trying to get some extra exercise in on the weekends. Before I was taking Fri-Sun off every week. :)

Yes, please post pictures! Growing up, we had tanks in every room of our house, and I loved it! I would have fish right now, but we have been moving around the country for the last few years and fish don't like long moves. Someday though, we will settle down and I will have a house full of fish again. :)

Mine is by Elomi, and it's the first one I've had that actually holds the girls in place no matter what I'm doing. I got it at either breakoutbras.com or figleaves.com. :)

I started with 3 lb weights, and now I'm using 5 lb weights. I've never completed the full 30 days, because I get bored too easy. When I'm in the mood for it, I will do one of the levels and then do something else to get more cardio in.

That is such an awesome family tradition! And you definitely shouldn't have to give that up. You could try to have lower calorie or healthier foods on hand, and keep it as a planned part of your day. I always plan for dessert, because I feel like I'm on a "diet" without it. Frozen fruit with a little cool whip (lite or…

Thanks for the links! I still have my doubts about commercially available almond milk, but I have plenty of doubts about commercially available cow's milk also. I think I'm going to try making my own almond milk now, so again... Thank you for the info! :)
-
I love cow's milk, but I have tried both soy and almond milk when I was nursing my youngest son with a dairy sensitivity. I like the taste of almond milk (not so much for soy) but I switched back to skim milk. Mostly because I'm trying to eat whole foods (closest to how they are found in nature) and I just don't understand…

We love our meat in this house, and I've recently been trying to switch all of our meat to safer, more humane products. And I was pleasantly surprised to find that grass-fed beef is a lot healthier for us. The Food, Inc movie website has a lot of great info to start with ( http://www.foodincmovie.com/index.php ) and then…

Checking in for team 2! I've burned 1564 calories since Friday, making my total 3382 for the week. Go Team2!

Have you had your iron checked? Being anemic can make you tired like that. If you think your energy level just isn't "normal" then it might be good to see a doctor. Other things that can make you feel tired: not enough water, too many or the wrong kinds of carbs(whole grain bread vs. chocolate cake, for example), not…

I agree. What you eat matters a lot more than when you eat it. :)
