  • I usually get all of the emotions during my TOM. Usually within a few hours each day, lol. I cry when I see a baby bird, I scream when the last loaf of bread I like is out. My hubby usually works longer hours, lol. Some days I can't even get out of bed. Oh well, at least I'm prepared for the swings. It's a bumpy ride!
  • I do find that I get hungrier. I also notice I crave red meat during my TOM, I suppose I need the iron. Since I know I get hungrier, I plan a preemptive strike and pack my fridge with fruits & veggies. I take an entire cucumber & slice it into chips (or bell pepper into strips). I keep baby carrots & celery sticks. I grill…
  • I like to squeeze a little lemon juice on it & garlic powder then put it on top of a bead of spinach. Pop it in the oven for 30 min and you have your fish & veggie. If I pan fry it, I use olive oil & cook over a med-high setting as to not scorch it. The key to mot using too much oil is to dab a bit on a paper towel & coat…
  • Listen to your body. It's trying to tell you something. A little salty snack may ease the craving. I've been snacking on multigrain baked wheat thins or sensible portions veggie straws when I want something salty. Seems to do the trick.
  • She mentioned she couldn't exercise because of an injury, not because she didn't want to exercise
  • For snack I have baby carrots, celery, or I slice up cucumber & have that instead of chips. I like those sensible porions veggie straws if I MUST have a chip like product. When I make eggs, I scramble peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc into it to add extra veggies and fiber. I try to have salad every day & mix up the veggies.…
  • I do not eat enough. I find it difficult to eat 1200 cals a day. In the past it was because I skipped breakfast, didn't snack & had small lu & processed dinners. Now, I eat mostly veggies, whole foods, yogurt, nuts, etc. & drink at least 8 glasses of water. I'm hardly ever hungry & usually force myself to eat to get over…
  • The smell of something sweet seems to be enough for me. I have a sweet smelling body spray, candle, and air freshener. It seems to help when I'm home. At work, I have sugar free gum or I spray a light mist of the body spray. If I'm hungry too I seem to favor grapes, bananas, or plums.
  • I hear you. It happens to me all the time. Or people telling me what I "should" do or try that obviously didn't work for them. Drives me nuts. And I've had people tell me how great I am, how proud they are of me of the choices I'm making and a certain someone has to swoop in & get some accolades too. Oh well, I know I'm…
  • I do the Zumba Wii in the morning before work so I don't feel guilty if I don't make it to the gym. I like that the new version has the calorie counter on it and the graphics are WAY better than the old one. Get the new version if you do get it, the old one was boring.
  • I do not believe it is rude. What would they do, take your leftovers home??? Would you expect to take home someone else's leftovers home?? Now, if you order another dish to take home, then you should pay for it, but definitely not for something off your own plate.
  • I would be interested in knowing how the DVDs differ from the game as well (other than the obvious interactions).
  • Nope, it comes with a hip belt to hold the remote. You control everything with your hips & that's how it knows you're doing the moves correctly). FYI ~ The new Zumba 2 is on sale today (black Friday) at Target. You pay $39.99, but you get a $10.00 gift card for a future purchase there. AND there's a coupon for a 7 day free…
  • I had side effects for about 4 months until it was completely out of my system. I was taking Yaz for over a year & decided to get off of it. I had headaches, and PMS symptoms 2 weeks before my cycle started for the entire 4 months. It's been about 9 months now and I'm dealing acne right now (that is something that Yaz also…
  • Great job! I just made it to 194 from 205 so I know how you feel. My goal was 195 before Thanksgiving. Way to go!
  • I find that between the app & the website I have no excuse NOT to log. I remind myself that everything I consume effects my diary and it's important to log it all, no matter how large or small. If I'm not by my laptop, I plug stuff into my phone app. When I'm at the gym, I log in my exercise before I leave. It makes me…
  • I was super skinny when I met my hubby 10 years ago. I was working & going to school. Then I started working at a cafe & put on about 20 lbs. I went to school & started working 2 jobs, eating whatever I could to sustain life because I was always busy. I tacked on another 20 lbs. I then went to work at my current job where…
  • With the spaghetti you can roast veggies & mix it in with the sauce. Eggplant, onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc work really well. I don't think Hamburger Helper really needs a side dish as it's meat & a side mixed together. Just add the veggie. With the pizza, get some wings and grill or bake them. Much healthier than frying…
  • just think of all the fat, sodium, and bad things inside those things. Oh, and how bad you feel after you splurge. It's okay to have a little taste, but don't go all Tazmanian Devil on the buffet! Good luck :)
  • That is such wonderful news. My aunt died last year when she went into a diabetic coma due to being an undiagnosed diabetic. Diabetes runs rampant in my family and I am here right now so I do not become the next victim in my family. You give me hope. Thank you for sharing!
  • I track my sugars as well. I limit the amount of processed sugars I take in (like oatmeal, desserts, etc) and focus more on the sugars naturally found in foods and I notice that I rarely go over the recommended amount. It's much like fats. You can go over on the fats for the day, but it doesn't break up the types of fats…
  • The one I have came from this website. Someone may have a better one though. I just found it a few days ago & haven't made it yet: http://www.thelovelycupboard.com/2011/09/5-layer-greek-dip.html
  • I love center cut bacon. If I can't find it I like low sodium. Turkey bacon has a funny taste to me, but maybe I'm doing something wrong...
  • I just got a recipe for a 5 layer hummus dip. I can't wait to try it out! All fresh & super easy.
  • Pico de gallo, butter cream (I'm a baker), and cocktail sauce. I've heard you can make your own yogurt. I'd be interested in trying that.
  • I got dragged to Cracker Barrel and they had the yummiest turkey sausage. Now I don't have to be dragged kicking & screaming :) I get 2 eggs, turkey sausage, and a yogurt parfait that I only eat 1/2 of and save the muffin for later in the day just in case I want it and I only eat 1/2 at a time. My hubby was shocked that no…
  • Wow, some interesting stories there. I'm not really a dieter, so I've never tried anything weird. However, one of the girls at work was doing some sort of water cleanse thing with citrus & cucumber in water with pepper in it. I tried it and thought it was awful. I'll stick with the citrus flavored water, but peppers???…
  • Funny because when I met one of my goals I dyed my hair. The color the stylist & I chose?? Red!!! New profile pic w/ my red hair when I meet my next goal. I can't wait to show it off, so it's helping me get there faster :)
