Got a recipe from someone on here for protein pancakes: 1/4 cup egg substitute, 1/4 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup low fat cottage cheese. splash of vanilla, pinch of cinnamon. Blend in a blender or processor, makes one pancake. You can multiply it easy enough to make what you need for a week. Freeze and pop in toast or microwave as…

homemade tomato sauce? Ground turkey bolognese? grilled chicken and veggies? Basically anything healthy you would put on regular pasta.

The whole idea of a treat is well... its a treat LOL. How do you think veggies or spinach dip will compete with pies, cakes, and cookies? Try these from Biggest Loser : http://www.nbc.com/the-biggest-loser/exclusives/nutrition/curtis-stone-recipes/vanilla-cupcakes/ You can easily skip the 'organic' for regular to keep cost…

Think about it this way. The slower they come off, the easier it is to keep them off! Keep at it. You are making great progress.

Nope. Some people on here set their protein higher, some (like me) just its going to be over every day. Your body needs the protein to build and repair the muscles which are going to help you burn fat.

Okay, first off. Put your son first. This is about him and we all know what key memories children have about Christmas. I still remember the year I got my first and second bike, the year my Grandmother paid off the rental contract on my flute and it was really mine, etc. Dad and Fiance are probably next on your list. They…

Then maybe MFP isn't for you.

I chew gum during my runs on cooler mornings because it keeps my throat from getting dry and also makes me breath with my mouth shut more. All well in good until one morning I had to cough and my gum went flying out onto the pavement. oops

That's good info. Works for me because I'm just looking for a number to add to my calorie count. Burning a few extra that I don't know, well, I don't have to know about that do I?

OH, and P.S don't let yourself be guilted into taking leftovers home unless it's turkey or veggies. BTW, see if you can snag the turkey caracass to make your own turkey stock!

Don't worry. Don't obsess. Enjoy the day. Limit yourself to one plate and reasonable portions. Take a walk with family. Friday is another day.

Think of all the calories you will burn and muscles you will work out doing all that yourself! True, you get to control the menus, but make sure you take time to enjoy yourself and treat yourself to a few Holiday treats, in moderation of course. L

You better be in this for yourself. Other peoples reactions are a nice side effect, but to stick with good health for the long run, you have to be doing it for you. L

I would think so, unless your calculation for your BMR included your pregnancy. I know there were recent studies out debunking the old "eat for two" theory that I followed with all 3 of my kids. BOY, wish I knew then what I know now. More than anything, it is definitely about the quality of the calories, not the quantity.…

I love the Danskin high impact sports bras from Walmart. They are about $10-15 and come in several colors and styles. I was about the same size as you starting out. L

I would have been fine with it. Several family members just called or posted on my Facebook wall. I kinda resent your implication that I'm not grateful for the thought. My DH tried to make it easy by telling them specifically what store so that when they took time out of their busy schedule, it would be easier.

That's when a good tailor comes in handy. I have had a few "must have" items taken in. It's worth it when the tailoring costs less than a new like item.

Definitely slow down. I "finished" the program using Podrunner, but the last three weeks I did more intervals than long runs. I went back to week 5 and did the 5 minute/3minute intervals for awhile, and just last week I bumped it to day2 of week 5 to the 8 minute segments. I'm going to hang here until I get comfy with it…

That kind of attitude from my friends is what got me obese in the first place. 'You carry it well." "You look 'healthy'". Was not! Now people ask me when I am going to stop and I think are worried I will become anorexic. Like you said, Hello... this is healthy! And more important, we did it in a healthy way without crash…

I've done them shredded in several ways. My favorite, but not necessarily healthy, has bacon and cheese. Another way is a warm slaw with sauteed onions and a vinaigrette dressing. Your way sounds nice and simple. For what its worth, all 3 of my kids LOVE brussel sprouts. Yes. They are strange LOL

Hey kiddo, I would love to read your post, but please, please, please, can you use a period now and then? Thanks. L

So Eric just to clarify, I should at the LEAST be eating 1200 plus my exercise. So if I burn 300 calories, my minimum intake for the day should be 1500. Thanks!

That's funny and I can relate. We have 2 pugs who are not big walkers. Anything over a mile at a slow pace tuckers them out. We also have a beagle/Boston mix who has much more energy. Once a week we head out for a 3 mile walk. She is pulling me the first mile, on pace with me the 2nd, and the 3rd she takes a lot of pee and…

I have to say that when I saw the title of your post the first thing that came to mind was "All my troubles seemed so far away." I really don't have any kind of sweet tooth since my 3rd child was born (I think he took it) except right around TOM when a whole package of Oreos seems like a good idea for dinner. One…

I have a protein shake after my workouts. I use Pure Protein vanilla and mix it with green tea, greek yogurt and a fruit of some sort (some times a splash of honey or peanut butter instead of the fruit). I've lost 30 pounds and can promise you, I have not bulked up. L

The good thing about hosting is that you are in charge of the food. The down side, is not all you friends are probably watching what they eat. My suggestion would be to make a few of your traditional favorites, but also include some fresh veggie type options, lower cal dips and such. When I go or host a party I try to…

Love it! And I love Lean Cuisines, too. I especially love stocking up on them when they are on sale!!

Going on the lines of what lyadeia said, don't make too many changes you can't live with in your lifestyle. If you are a big bread, pasta, and potato eater, than just learn how to make smarter choices and watch your portion sizes. Try whole grain bread and pasta and limit the fat you use in your potato recipes. Watch…

Okay, here are my feeling on foods like mac n cheese. Now I'm not taking Kraft in a box, I am talking homemade cheesy goodness. For starters, anything you make from scratch is going to be better for you than something out of the box. Maybe more fat and cals, but you won't get all the preservatives.. and really.. how does…
