  • No tonya was right my skin literally is burning like an acid burn although not thaaat intense. After taking a shower it was better. I had pre eclampsia with my daughter whivh involves protein and kidney function so ill make an appt ty! I doubt its the intake itself because i only eat 60ish gtams of protein a day its…
  • I do have a gym membership sorry I should have posted that. I don't get there a ton because of my 2 year old (she wants to go swimming everytime we go and throws a huge fit) but I can always leave dh at home. Or take turns with him. I am 235 now roughly so thats why I was wondering if I should wait till I get closer to the…
  • I would love to join too! I will start doing the 50 push ups a day starting tomorrow (weds). My current weight is 239 my goal weight for the end of the 18 weeks is 195. I haven't been below 200 since the beginning of middle school. YIKES! I can't wait to get there!
  • I would do sedetary and then log in the walking you do while your NOT at school. A nurse or salesman is classified as lightly active which I can't believe!
  • I guess my thought process was your body had to work harder to cool it back down so it would burn more calories or make your workout more efficent. I'm glad thats not the case though! So I can enjoy that fan!
  • 5'9 and 165lbs. The LOWEST I will go is 150.
  • I eat anything I want just stick to serving sizes. Tonight we had hotdogs, smores, mac and cheese and peas for dinner and I was still able to stay within my calories by using 1/4 of a chocolate bar on the smore and using turkey hot dogs instead of regular hot dogs. Its all about finding what works for you. This HAS to be a…
  • Thanks for all the suggestions! I got back on tonight hoping to get my 20 total minutes in and was able to do 8 minutes just on the lowest resistance setting. My legs were still burning and I had to take a couple short breaks but it was only for 10 seconds and then I was back at it. Not 10 minute breaks like I had to take…
  • Are you logging in your calories on here? What about your excersize. 1200 calories seems pretty low. You may not even be eating enough calories! You should be eating at least 2/3rds of your excersize calories back.
  • 5lbs isn't unheard of for your first week. I'm not sure what changes you have all made other than eating habits but i know when I started drinking more water I lost a few pounds just in extra water weight since my body wasn't hanging onto my water reserves as much. With that said I'm not sure how many calories your eating.…
  • I don't think there is much you can do other than live by example. Its hard enough to change people that you live with (spouse, parents, ect) let alone extended family. No one can change until they are ready to do it themselves. Control what you can -- say when they're at your home or your at theirs bring healthy options…
  • They are fine just try and pick ones that have less than 600mg of sodium in them. I like the michelina lean gourmet meals they are CHEAP and taste just as good as the other ones. Sodium isn't too bad in them either.
  • How the heck do you stay away from it? Its in EVERYTHING?!?!
  • Are you logging in your excersize and eating those calories too? The way that MFP is set up is that you really do need you eat at least 1/2 to 2/3 of your excersize calories. Try it for a few weeks I bet you'll lose!
  • Alli does help to eliminate some of the fat out of your diet but 1) your body NEEDS fat, proper healthy eating and excersize are cruical to weightloss as well as healthy fats. I'd let your body do its job and process the fats naturally because when you start messing with diet pills no matter how physically safe or not your…
  • Aww thats great I am sure he will love it. I've heard good things about the biggest loser one and my fitness coach I think its called. I wish they made workout games for xbox 360. I got one of them for dh for xmas this year. He'd kill me if i bought him a wii.
  • You will do great! As long as you have a good estimate on what your eating you don't really need to log everything it just helps you stay accountable for the extra bites here and there that you don't think of. An idea might be to logg everything in once a week or two and just see where you stand and if its right around…
  • Thanks for all of your replies! Having kids does definitely help keep a person motivated to do this. I don't want my daughter or my soon to be son to learn my poor eating habbits or become overweight. My daughter loves fresh fruit, lean meat, and veggies. She rarley even wants any of the junk/snacky food. I can't wait to…
  • Thats wonderful! My daughter is my biggest inspiration probably for eating & getting healthier. I don't want her to grow up eating the same way I did. Can you believe that my parents NEVER EVER had us drink milk or water. All we drank was pop and koolaid. I don't think fruit or veggies came into our diets in a regular…
  • Makes perfect sense!
  • Thank you! Yeah $500 is definitely out of my price range LOL. I feel bad spending $80-$100 on myself let alone that much!
  • 12 pounds in 12 weeks is GREAT! Think if you lost 1lb a week you'd be 56 pounds lighter in a year. It takes time to get long lasting results. Slow and steady really is the way to go. I looked at your profile too and your not way overly overweight so its going to come off a little slower than someone who weighed 100lbs more…
  • Sorry subing for a question. Can you wear your HRM all day to log how many calories your body is burning on a dialy basis or only when you work out. On the biggest loser they were those things on their upper arms is that a HRM or something else?
  • What you eat makes a huge difference. I know in the end sugar is sugar but I have hypoglycemic tendancies and I can tell you from expierence I react a lot different to fruit and natural sugar than I do to candy, treats, and garbage sugar. The main thing is just try to eat complex carbs balanced with protein and get most of…
  • My weight started when I was a child. I was actually a fairly thin and active kid although my step dad always told me I was fat and would make fun of me when I ate. As I got closer to puberty probably early middle school I really started to gain weight fast. Alot of it was from eating from depression because of physical…
  • Weight loss pills aren't good for several reasons. Sure there are some that work but what happens as soon as you come off of the weight loss pill? You gain all the weight back. Do you want to lose weight and get healthier for GOOD or do you want to lose it temporary only to be back where you were in a couple of months.…
  • I would try upping your calories. From the sounds of it the both of you are only getting about 1000-1100 calories a day. When your body gets closer to your goal you really do need to up your calories to keep your metabolism going. Have you been logging your calories and your excersize with the tools on here? You should eat…

  • Honestly the only thing I've really found to help with me is water and fiber. The fiber is sooo amazing! Maybe try getting some of that powdered fiber that you can sprinkle in your food? How much fiber have you been getting a day? Another thing would be adding in a little more protein too.
  • I agree with the other ladies. IMO going and seeing the trainer a few times will help you stay on track. Yes you may indulge and not lose weight (but you might too) but if you stick through it and keep working towards your goals 1) your making it a LIFESTYLE change and 2) you probably wont gain 10-20lbs like you might if…
