Another day has gone by without my eating any of the *delicious-looking, omg* brownies my newest roommate left on the table for everyone to enjoy. Hopefully they disappear soon though!

Drop into the 170's!

Just finished catching up on two weeks worth of my favorite thread. Major kudos to everyone who has posted! You are an inspiration Mine is small but made me unreasonably happy. We periodically have to wear long lab coats at work, and yesterday I could button EVERY button on mine! Since I've had it I've only been able to do…

Thanks ☺ Agreed. The other piece of this is that I've tried that from time to time in the past, and force of habit is extremely strong. So I definitely could do better as far as educating, and I'll give some thought to how to best do that. Experience says I'll also need some other strategies to supplement in the meantime,…

I reached back into the closet today and pulled out a couple old casual blouses. Nothing fancy or from a particularly long time ago, but I couldn't wear them this time last year. Making progress, and expanding my clothing selection as I go

@Madwife2009 what wonderful pictures!! Thanks for sharing as I'm watching sleet out the window and hoping for spring with all my heart! My NSV - shimmied right on into an old, thinner-me pair of work pants this morning when I realized the pair I planned to wear was looking downright sloppy. Didn't have time to do a happy…

My roommate brought me fancy cookies from this wonderful little Italian bakery. But they didn't fit into my calories today. NSV: I resisted the temptation, and am looking forward to enjoying them Thursday!

I have an awards ceremony type thing to go to in March. And I have only one appropriate, cute dress. It is currently a touch too small. Challenge accepted !

Awesome! I ventured in for the first time last Thursday! Felt very empowering, even if I was picking up the little baby dumbbells. I liked it a lot.

Wow. Awesome, congratulations!
-
Seconded. Those comments are appalling, particularly since you are making healthy decisions that have been making you happy. You deserve to be around people who will support you.

What roller coaster it is. On the scale in the morning: OMG I lost half a pound! I am so freakin' skinny! I'm awesome! Passing by the mirror seconds later: Wait. Not skinny. I just see a blob. Crap. At the gym later: I am so strong and fit! I'm awesome! Mirror again: Oh dear... Does this ever stop? :D

Little but important: Made myself some more fruit/nut oatmeal cookies for a sweet treat Used 2/3 the amount of sugar and cut the salt; will try 1/2 the amount of sugar next time. Licked only one beater, and did not "sample" three cookies' worth of dough while rolling the dough balls. Baked only 12 (some for me, some for…

Wow, great work. Congratulations

Yep. And if you feel you can't talk to this doctor, ask around and find one that other people you know trust. They may also have resources they can refer you to as far as dietitians and sometimes even exercise programs. You may qualify for other options for weight loss depending on what's going on, but you need a medical…

Fast food was (is...) a big weakness of mine. I agree with what everyone else here has said, but there is definitely a period of retraining both your brain and your tastebuds that needs to be acknowledged. You can absolutely do it, but the first week or two is going to be a little tough. Some people can just stop, as if…

Skyrim was my weakness. No time to play recently, but would love to get into Dragon Age and Assassin's Creed There is a a group for "MFP Gamers" - check it out!

I use google sheets. Simpler interface, portable across devices as long as you have the app. There's an option to "smooth data"

This thread is making me crave some tea with honey right now... I currently have wildflower honey, but I haven't yet found a type I didn't like. Buckwheat sounds intriguing. Might have to try to find that.

Welcome! Glad you're here. You will find a very supportive community. Hopefully some other members here will comment (particularly the guys), but 1200 calories seems pretty low. You can definitely do this without starving yourself. If you post on some of the nutrition boards you should be able to get some good advice - and…

Oh gosh. Yum. That second one... I think I'll be picking up some spaghetti squash when I go shopping today, thankyouverymuch!
-
Oh absolutely. I have the greatest respect for those that can completely cut out sweets - but I make sure there's room for a little cookie and a glass of milk at some point in my day. If I don't want it, I don't eat it, but having the choice is important to me

Nope, first thing in the morning wearing pyjamas. I weigh daily as I'm more interested in the overall trend; the little changes from such light clothes aren't a big deal right now

The best success I've had with weight loss came at a time when I was focusing on eating enough potassium. I completely realize this had little to do with the potassium itself, and much more to do with eating tons of fruits and veg to get that amount of potassium! I was filling up on lots of low-calorie, nutrient-dense…

This http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/black-pepper-tofu-365129 is the best tofu recipe ever. Cut way the hell down on the butter, look up how to bake the tofu instead of frying it, and make it with about half the black pepper and hot peppers the first time to be safe (it's super hot). The like 4 different kinds…

Sounds like you are doing all the right things! I'd say good luck, but it's not luck, it's just sticking to it. I'm sure you will do well. :-) Feel free to add me!

Thanks for posting! I love soups of all kinds and these sound incredible. My go-to book is "12 Months of Monastery Soups." Many healthy options and they turn out beautifully. A favorite of mine is a Portuguese-style kale and white bean soup. This is similar…

It's working for me without any extra thinking on my part - I set it "lightly active," getting 3-5K steps with my normal activities, and with the goal to lose .5 lb per week. Was surprised at how generous the calorie allotment was, yet I'm still losing weight, slow and steady. I could probably go faster, but I get quite…

Break out of this $&"$ plateau - get consistently below 187!

I made these things last time I was having insistent sugar cravings. Whip the separated-out cream from a can of (full-fat) coconut milk until it's fluffy, 3 tbsp cocoa powder, and just enough powdered sugar to sweeten it. I think I got away with about a tablespoon of sugar. Divided this into 5 or 6 servings in itty bitty…
