Best of luck to you both, I am back on here after a long and on going family illness, now that I have some routine back in my life I am looking to get off the weight I have put on over the last 16 months. Add me if you wish for motivation and encouragement, just remember it is a marathon not a sprint, so nice and slow will…

Just came back to MFP after 16 months away, as we had a serious family illness, which although is still on going, at least I now have some routine back in my life. Last time on here I lost nearly 18 lbs and have put back on 14 over the last 16 months, so now is right for me to get started again and lose as much as I can.…

I'm an Evertonian, so we are really looking forward to see what Martinez can produce, I would say I am realistic about prospects and anything in the top half would be acceptable, but it depends if we can hang onto key players and what additions he will bring in. Very much looking forward to the new season and the potential…

Looking at losing over 2lb a week is going some, only suggestion is combine the calorie deficit with exercise and ensure if you are using the MFP method, eat back your exercise calories (but beware the calories granted by MFP for exercise, they are excessive, I use a HRM to monitor calories expended) I cannot comment on 30D…

Do not live anywhere new NJ, but we do have some wonderful "eating establishments" here, my advice for what it is worth, do not go "cold turkey", have the odd treat now and again of going out or ordering in, but the emphasis is "odd one", and may I suggest walking for the take out's or restuarant, that way you can burn a…

For me its the additional support I get and encouragement we give each other, it also makes you accountable, so in your mind at least you want to keep on trying. There are lots of good people ready and willing to offer help, advice and encouragement, so why not take advatage of it? Good luck with your efforts, if you wish…

Yep, been there, got the T shirt, in my case I just allowed work to rule me, and not make any time for me or my family, I deluded myself in believing that I was having/createing a better lifestyle (as we all really know, money does not equal happiness). Woke up to this fact and am now working hard to put things right for…

Absolutely brilliant, a great inspiration to us all, as you say no fad diets, just plain common sense and the determination to do it for the most important person there is YOU. Thanks for the post, one day I plan to be able to post something similar.

Hi welcome to MFP. I have been on here for the last 5 weeks, like you it is the lifestyle change, I do not bother with "diet food" or shakes, if I cannot make this with real food, how am I going to keep it up?, my diary is always open to friends and I am on everyday for logging and encouragement purposes. I wish you the…
