So, what team to you support, what are your hopes for the new season? Any worries, hopes, dreams and complaints?
For me, being West Ham... It is what could be a turning point. Back in the top flight, a good 10th finish last season, new signings, a new stadium and what seems to be a new era. It could all go wrong, it could all go right but deep down, I want us to remain a good old fashioned working class supported football team. I am hoping for another top ten finish. We'll see.

I'm an Arsenal man, so I'm holding outmy last shred of hope that we can geuinely complete financially again.
It'll be the first season in a while we've been able to add to the team, rather than just buying replacements - so all I want is the team to be competitive again.
How do you feel about Caroll?
I think he'll be a smashing signing.0 -
Im a Norwich fan.
Obviously we have a smaller budget than and quite a realistic view of things.
Survival is the main aim as for most teams and anything above that is a bonus.
Hopefully we will pull off a couple of surprise results like last season.
I would take 17th now but have a feeling we will be mid table again 10th - 13th0 -

Was chatting to an ex Norwich player the other day and he genuinely fancies you lot to be a solid mid-table side again. But interestinly, he said he had an inkling fo a good cup run. Maybe going to take the Carling or FA as a serious target too?0 -

Nice one mate.
Carroll is a handful when fit. A terrier like aerial threat, Needs two men to mark him at most times and provides a great threat. If he stays fit and continues to get the service then we have a good buy. I think the price is a little steep but could pay off. We need a striker to play off/with him and our front line will be a major threat.
As for Arsenal, I agree. You do need to build a solid base and stick with it. I fancy you for a top 4 finish next season. We have you on Boxing Day, which is always a good derby. I was at the home game this season and we gave a good account of ours0 -

Think if you strengthen the squad you will be safe but signings will need to be very shrewd, maybe even some good loan players. Good luck as I always see Norwich as a decent club for the fans.0 -
Lets go Raiders! Wooooooooooooo0

Well but for the defeat against Villa in the carling cup we could have made the final i feel.
And the FA Cup was a disaster losing at home to Luton. So that can only get better.
Like i say i feel another season of mid table obscurity is on the cards and im very happy with that :-)0 -
Big thing about Carroll as well, is that he'll only get better.
Tha kind of striker - the big strong target man - don't come into their own until late 20's. You look at your Fergusons, Drogbas etc - they all have their best years later on.
A quick striker slows down as he get's older, but a strong striker won't get weaker.
Plus, for every goal he get's he'll make one for Nolan as well.0 -

Well we have already made 2 signings in Garrido and Van Wolfswinkel. We just need someone to supply the strikers and we will start to build a decent squad.0 -
I'm an Evertonian, so we are really looking forward to see what Martinez can produce, I would say I am realistic about prospects and anything in the top half would be acceptable, but it depends if we can hang onto key players and what additions he will bring in.
Very much looking forward to the new season and the potential on what can be produced, but understanding it will be a tough season for all as the league is so competitive, there are no "easy" games anymore, will be at Norwich for the opening game as I live down south in Cambridge, always a good day out, win lose or draw.0 -

Agree with that. What could be a make or break season.0 -
I'm a Leeds United man. I can only hope that Brian McDermott has a few quid to spend and spends it wisely.
We've had a torrid time in recent years, based on stupidity by a previous administration, so we're on a journey to try and get back to the Premiership. It's a tough ask because the Championship is full of high quality clubs.
I would love to see us return to the top flight as champions. I'd settle for returning to the top flight even if it meant the play offs.
I suspect it could be a few seasons before that happens, but I live in hope.0 -
Well being a Man Utd fan I am keen to see how Moyes will do in the shadow of the great Alex Ferguson. It will be an interesting season either way but looking at the other teams around us such as City and Chelsea we will need to invest if we are going to compete for the title. Rooney will go I have no doubt about that (I hear today it could actually be Arsenal!) and I am hoping we can get Lewondowski! But I think we definitely need a good midfield playmaker and also one or two at the back.
I actually think CIty will struggle this year under Pelligrini... it could be anopther one of those situations similar to when Tottenham got Juande Ramos (although I say that will more hope than belief! Either way, can't wait for the new season to start! Bring it on!0 -
I can't see Arsenal taking Rooney.
I don't think he fits the style of football we play ( unless we played him as an atacking midfielder and I don't think he has the fitness for that. )
Also, although Arsenal DO have some money now, I'd be amazed if they were wiling to offer the sort of wages Rooney would be on.
If they did buy him, I would be more abou sending out a message tha they can compete for names than anything else.0 -
Well we're in Scotland so...
...yeah, I think I'll just stop right there
Yay for Rangers!
Mon the Gers. Hence the other part of my name. I also follow the mighty Gers!0 -
I am a west hame girl and worked over there as a steward for about 8 seasons0
-
And given my Da was a Celtic Shareholder before he died, we now officially hate each other.
Na in all seriousness though, ridiculous whathappened at that club.
I'm not an expert in the case, but I remember Arsenal using EBT's years ago and it was easily sorted out.
I know there were lots of other issues and irregularities but at the ed of the day I think the club was used as an example.0 -
Not sure if I should say who I support - I'm sure there are no clues lying around ....
Having said that, someone really should look into how we paid £35m for Andy Carroll. I'm not saying he is not a good player, and certain for £13m-£18m, you'd think he's a reasonable signing. But £20m would be too much, £25m would be ridiculous and £30m criminal.
I guess we have to set our ambition at finishing above Everton, and at a stretch 4th place.0 -
I support Newcastle. All I have are hopes, worries, dreams and complaints.
But I still love them.0 -

Agreed. I still can't get my head around that. He'd have been better off left alone, we took the 35m and took a, yaknow, on it, let Nolan go on top of it and then kinda went, opps. The poor guy was a disaster at LFC. Nobody seemed to gain anything from that sale. If he'd stayed with us I think he would be peeking now. But naw. 'cause Mike Ashley is a donkey, who hired another donkey, and now got back a donkey who doesn't think it's worth his time learning the teams names.
I don't think I'm excited about August come to think of it0 -
WATP! Think I will add you if OK?0

Newcastle fan here... I don't really need to say anything do i0

Reading fan, would be nice to be in the top six and challenge for promotion. When you get relegated, its all about who you retain but we honestly didnt have any stand out prem performers last year anyway0
-
Switching countries a bit, I'm a Roma fan... I, well, maybe we can finish at least in a Europa league spot this season, and above Lazio would be nice. It's been a tough last couple seasons.0

Another Newcastle fan here. I feel exactly like you do. I hope we'll do well, I worry that we'll struggle like last season and lose key players, I dream of winning a cup (any cup will do ) and I complain at all the stupid decisions Cashley makes.0 -

Borussia Dortmund for me. Just hoping they will be able to match Bayern. And I'd not mind a repeat of the Champions League final, though with a different result please.0

My friend likes Dortmund, so I always keep half an eye on them. If I were forced to choose, I'd have to go with Bayern, but it was definitely fun seeing them lose to Roma in the Champions League in 2010 (the face comparison pic in my profile... The "before" is just prior to me leaving my apartment to go to the Olimpico for that match). One of the two most fun matches I've ever been to, with the other being USA-Germany a couple weeks ago.0 -
I've been a Manchester City supporter since 2011. :glasses:
I think we could really use a 4th striker. Hopefully Cavani? Sure hope 60m is enough to bring him in. We are running tight on funds. :glasses:0 -
another Arsenal fan... used to have a season ticket but had to give it up when i moved to the states... also have a soft spot for west ham as used to go see them a lot in fact broke my little toe at the first arsenal / west ham game at the Emirates... Then pub crawled all the way home.
As always hoping for silverware but will settle for some good players and some great football0
