  • The 1230 is calculated to give you a calorie deficit below the BMR based on however you set the rate of loss you wanted. Honestly, you could adjust if you feel like you're not losing well, but it looks to me like you are....it's all about where you find your most comfort in terms of loss and lifestyle.
  • Finally officially a B210K graduate. Did the "distance run" this morning and finally hit the 6.2 mile mark. I kept what felt like a reasonable pace for most of it and I didn't really start feeling myself flagging until around 4.5 miles. It was sheer will that kept me running to 5.5 and then I walked/jogged (mostly walked)…

  • I did it! 60 minutes straight! W6D1 is done!
  • Finished Week 5 this morning. Honestly didn't expect I would be able to finish as is....thought I would have to take some breaks or maybe even bail on the second half and try again another day. But I did it. I still can't even believe it. It was in the mid 20s here, which seems to honestly be the best temperature for…
  • Finally into Week 5 with you all...did W5D1 this morning. My mileage is so much lower than all of yours....today clocked in just over 4 miles since you run less time with this one. Trying not to feel bad about it....like with C25K, the distance came as I built stamina. My route still left me about half a mile from home…
  • Finished Week 4 today! Woofreakinghoo! I ended up getting a text message towards the end of the first interval and (I use my phone with the app) somehow stopped the app when I looked at the text. It took me probably three or four minutes to figure it out past the end of the first interval. I was so bummed when I realized…
  • Personally, I thought they were like having frozen yogurt. It's just not the same, but you know that, and if you're serious about your weight loss, it will be a good alternative to the real thing. It has just enough of that real margarita taste to fill that craving. But it definitely is "light" in taste as well as calories.
  • So awesome! Great job, you should be really proud!

  • Started my week 4 today. Pouring rain here so I did it on the treadmill. Cannot for the life of me figure out why I am slower on the treadmill than outside....you'd think it would be reversed. Happy to report that the hardest part was just getting motivated to get on the darn thing. I took it easy to make sure I could do…

  • Finished Week 3 today only a month after starting it. OY! Feels great to be back out there. A little less mileage than my Day 2 run, but I did that one on a flat trail, where today's run was on roads with some hills (not huge ones, though they feel kinda huge when I'm running them). I was hoping to break 4.5 miles and I…

  • Finally have worked my way back from my leg injury and am hoping to finish up Week 3 next week! Finally....it's been nearly 3 weeks of resting and working my way back to where I was. It sure feels like a lot longer!

  • STILL sidelined with the injury I incurred during my race last week. But today, after 6 days of rest, I took a 1.8 mi walk, and it feels OK....so I think I am on the mend. Everything I've read has said you need to really rest and ease back into things gradually so it will probably be at least another week before I can get…

  • I've been away from home on vacation for Christmas. I had fully intended to finish my week 3 here in Florida but the cards were stacked against me. I developed some mysterious ankle pain after my Day 2 run on the day we left. I took ibuprofen and tried after we arrived but it was a horrible run....between the much warmer…
  • Did Day 2 on the treadmill this morning. I know that something is off on my treadmill....I think maybe it is stuck in an incline position. Because I can't for the life of me figure out why I did half a mile less on the treadmill but burned 50 MORE calories doing it on the treadmill. Felt harder too, but I know that is…
  • I'm right there with you. I lost 35 lbs back in 2007-2008, and as soon as I hit my goal it slowly started creeping back up on me. The first six months, 10 lbs came back. Then five more over the next six. And so on and so on until I'd gained back 30 of the 35. I am trying to be smarter about it this time. Like the previous…
  • I agree....I have the iPhone app, I actually started using that before the website. It makes it super easy to log your food when you're out. It's great to check the calorie counts of foods before you input them....or order them, even. I even used it during a power outage a few months ago. It's definitely a good thing.
  • I don't know that I "binge drink", unless I have such a problem that I don't see my consumption as binge drinking. But I do have a drink every day (usually wine) and often on the weekends I'll have more. For example this weekend I had four glasses of wine at a party. Didn't feel like that was a binge but maybe it is.…
  • Did Week 3 Day 1 today....it was super cold this morning so the first interval was all about getting warm and not feeling like I was too cold. Which made it somehow feel harder, I think. Second interval was better, third wasn't that bad either, truth be told. My overall pace was slower due to the longer duration but I'm…
  • So inspiring to read everyone's posts on Week 2. I too find it difficult to use the treadmill so as long as there isn't snow or too much ice out there I'm going to try and stay outside. I'm a little sore today after doing W2D3 yesterday, so I'm going to opt for some yoga today in the hopes it will loosen me up before Week…
  • Did my B210K Week 2 Day 1 run today. I'm a slow runner and today I was a little off my game....I think I was cautious to go super fast because I didn't want to get winded. So my total distance was 4.17 miles...a personal best for me, so I feel good about that, but I know it's a long way off from the goal. Anyway, the first…
  • Well after floundering around for a while, I decided to alternate between redoing the C25K with jog/run instead of walk/runs, and starting the B210K program. I also downloaded RunKeeper, which is helping me a great deal in keeping track of runs I don't do in either structure....I love how it tracks my pacing and calls out…
  • I ended up running it in 38:10, which is five minutes faster than my first 5K almost exactly a month ago. I know it's not super fast, but I'm pleased with the progress! Thanks for the advice everyone! It was a beautiful day for a run. You can't beat a run where Santa cheers you on!
  • Yeah I am going to take the dog for a walk and do some yoga I think today....my best runs have been after rest days so I think I need to take it easy today. I can't believe how excited I am to do a race again though....three months ago you would have not caught me anywhere near a 5K (unless they promised alcohol or candy…
  • I think it's going to take me longer too. It's harder for me to find days where I have that full hour plus to commit to the runs. The half hours of C25K were easier to squeeze in. Also, I was SORE after my first two runs in B210K....anyone else experience this? The first one I didn't stretch a lot and I thought it might be…
  • I did W1D1 last week when I was fighting a cold. Got through it but it really was hard and so I had to wait until today to try again. Today was so much better. I didn't really feel winded until the third 10 min...and that is likely because that's where the hills are on my route. I actually ran during some of the cool down,…
  • Wow....7 miles. That's amazing!
  • I'm in....I've been waffling about when/if to start....but if we're all doing it together....I'm in.

  • I'm not quite sure I am ready for Bridge 2 10K but it feels like the natural next step. I graduated the C25K two weeks ago and ran my first 5K a few days after graduation. It was hard! And I am still very slow. I keep running runs close to the 5K distance and for some reason they never seem to get faster or easier. It…
  • Thanks for the info on the Gateway to 8K....hadn't heard of that one. Looks like it might be a nice in between the two programs. I'll check it out!
