I used to just go to the gym and do the treadmill and elliptical for X Amount of minutes. I hired a personal trainer for 6 weeks. Wow, that guy taught me stuff about exercise! Ha.

Sizes are stupid. I was a size 16UK weighing 175lbs. Dropped to a 14 pretty quickly. I am now around 145lb (fluctuating between 142 - 146 as not concentrating due to upcoming wedding and can't afford to lose any!!) However, the point of my ramblings. I dropped from 12st7lbs to 10st2lbs. From Beginning of September to…

I have suffered in the passed from depression. I am now one of the most optimistic and happy people you will ever meet. ths is because I didn't rely on meds to fix me. you may need some different meds for the time being as they obviously aren't working, and meds should be there to help you WHILST the issues are being…

I'm 5'8 / 5'9 and did weigh 175lbs. I now weigh 142lbs. Limited calorie intake to 1200 - 1350, ate back half exercise calories, did minimum of 30 mins running or gym 6 days a week. Drank LOTS of water. However, I did allow myself to live. I don't believe in punishment and had every week: 1 x takeaway (not monitoring at…

Thank you all. I think I'm going to aim to build up to 10km before the wedding, then increase from 10 - 20 after the wedding. Knew you'd all make me feel better, thank you!!

Thank you all for your replies. It never even occured to me that it could take longer for a change to make an effect. I will up my calories and start again I think. Many thanks :)

Thanks for the reply. I do mix it up a bit - had porridge this mronig, toast some mornings, or I will go swimming instead of running sometimes but I work two jobs, plus have a two year old and literally cannot get to classes for time :( I miss spinning class!!! I also play netball once a week too competitively. Maybe I…

As people have said, it's how you feel. I set myself small goals and then decide. My first was to get from 175 to 160. Then I decided to get to 150. I've now decided that for my frame (I have tiny tiny bones despite being tall) I am aiming for 140 but no lower. Get to 150 THEN decide. No rush. Good luck until then.

I have 6lb left to lose. the last few pounds have been 1 per week. I eat between 1200 - 1400 per day. Fridays and weekends I sometimes go up to 1600, and 5 times a week I do around 40 mins of exercise (predominently cardio). this is how I have lost over 2 stone, and 1lb is a good target per week :)

I use one pair until they fall apart and get another :) I make sure I had my running style measured and got the right pair too.

I started running in August but properly in September. I had never run before, but I have found the more I think about breathing, the harder it is. As soon as I listened to music, and tuned into that and my route, rather than my breathing, it came naturally. I do breathe heavier towards the more tired I am, but I think…

EBay is not much cheaper..only ten pounds. los, I do have gym but it's a cheap gym. £14 per month and includes swimming - I used to spend £12 per month taking my daughter swimming so only actually costs me £2 per month! It isn't a fab gym, very basic, no free weights etc x I wish one of my friends had it to borrow but it…

When I decided to quit smoking and lose weight and get fit, I cut out chocolate and started running. I ran 5-6 times a week. I didn't control my calories heavily, but was eating around the 1800 mark I guess. I didn't lose a thing for a whole month. Then I did two things - and my weight started falling off. I drank more…

I had a C section just over two years ago. Within the last few months I have seen a mega improvement...obviously part of mine was needing the lose weight, but I now do: Normal crunches Vertical leg crunches Side crunches (legs bent, leaning to side on floor, but rest of body straight then swap sides - this works the sides)…
