Anyone else with only a bit to lose? About 10lb?

Hi, In my profile pic I am 12 pounds less than I am now, I wan to get back to this weight in time for my holiday in April.
I am on week 6 of 16.
I need 1700 cals a day to maintain (im 5'3") so im eating 1200 cals a day at the mo in the hope ill lose 1lb a week.
I know I need to have a deficit of 3500 cals a week to lose 1 lb a week.

Any one else already slim but have few pounds to lose?

The reason I want to lose weight is to get rid of some of the fat on my stomach, hips, thighs and chin :)

May be worth mentioning that I have a desk job and log all exercise.

Is 1lb a week reasonable? If any has done the same sort of thing when did you notice a difference?

Thanks

I have been struggling to loose my last 14 lbs. I lost 25 with common sense changes, this last 14 has been tough. I keep going up and down and I think I am pretty good about what I eat. Guess I just need to do even more cardio. Trying to do cardio 6 days a week for at least 1/2 hour.
  • Did u cut carbs? Cardio didn't help nearly as much as switching to low carb

I dont think 10lb is nothing but saying that I have so far lost 6lb in 6 weeks and cant see a difference.
10lb is not alot to lose in water weight but it is alot to lose in fat.
I could prob lose some weight by cutting the carbs but this lose would prob mostly we water weight and not fat?
  • Well the water weight thing is overblown - I've measured my bf% on a 2-week crash diet and I lost 3% bodyfat - the issue with low carb is gradually returning carbs cuz if u overdo it the weight piles on just as fast but if you do it right the fat loss is real. If you do moderate carb reduction over months, it'll be even more permanent.

I have 6lb left to lose. the last few pounds have been 1 per week. I eat between 1200 - 1400 per day. Fridays and weekends I sometimes go up to 1600, and 5 times a week I do around 40 mins of exercise (predominently cardio).

this is how I have lost over 2 stone, and 1lb is a good target per week :)
  • They're healthy but what I'm trying to say is that if you want to lose the 10 fast switch to high fat, low carb or high protein, low carb - you don't have to do it extreme - even if you eat with only a moderate cal deficit but keep carbs low you'll lose 10lbs fast... and it won't be just water weight. I lost about 10lbs since two weeks ago with 0 exercise from a high fat, low carb diet. Sure some is water but I expect to lose another 10-15 lbs by end of month and it won't be all water.
