Read New Rules of Lifting for Women - amazing book. You may also want to get a few personal training sessions at a gym to learn the proper form for lifting.

Many many many times. I just had my latest slip up last weekend. The only way to move forward is to just start anew. I'd rather get back on track now than waiting until I gain 50 lbs, you know? Best of luck.

Thanks for sharing - I would love to make this sometime.

Not sure what kind of exercise you can do without a sneaker. An alternative might be to eat 100 calories less each day for the next 5 days - just a thought :)

I am in my early thirties, a little shorter than you, and started at a weight a little lower than your starting weight. I have lost 55 lbs, and would be happy to be friends.

Every time I open a new page (e.g. to read a forum post), the survey comes up again. I took it the first time I saw it, and since then I have seen it at least another 10 times. It is getting very annoying.

I used to walk 10,000 steps (about 4.5 miles) a day in my most comfortable shoes. Doing that for a year caused severe foot pain that took a long time and a lot of physical therapy to heal. Please use running/walking shoes for walking - they provide the support you need.

Thank you for sharing. Sounds great.

You are still burning calories during the hours you are fasting. So you TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) is still 2700.

Perhaps you need to look at this from a different angle. Do you really want to lose weight or do you want to get stronger and look leaner? What if you looked like you were 30lbs lighter, without actually being 30lbs lighter? Heavy weight training will make you look a lot lighter because it changes your body composition…

I would increase protein intake to 100g at least, and cut carbs and fat so that you still stay around your calorie goal.

Congratulations. Your results are very inspiring.

Someone once told me this, and I completely agree: "you can't out-exercise a poor diet, but you can out-diet poor exercise habits".

I love cottage cheese. Here are my two favorite ways of eating it: 1. Cottage cheese + ground pepper + Tabasco sauce + one diced very ripe tomato 2. Cottage cheese + Sriracha sauce

Over the course of my weight loss journey, I have endured multiple plateaus, the most recent one just ended yesterday. It is really hard to stay motivated, but now that I have had experience with a few of them, I just look at my weight loss graph, see that all my previous plateaus ended, and remind myself to be patient.…

I am sorry you are going through a plateau. I understand how frustrating it can be. Over the course of my weight loss journey, I have endured quite a few of them, the most recent one was until yesterday. Make sure you are doing all the right things (eating at a deficit and making sure to weigh your food, moving, getting…

Hi Dustin, I will try to address your concerns (I am not a professional, just speaking from my own experience) A) put on weight - like some of the other posters said, you are likely to gain some water weight in the first week, but that should stop and you should start losing after a couple of weeks. B) Cost the family more…

Yes, the amount of sleep you get is highly correlated with weight loss/gain. I have personally noticed this, and the following article on mayoclinic explains how they are related as well: "One explanation may be that sleep duration affects hormones regulating hunger — ghrelin and leptin — and stimulates the appetite.…

I love how scientifically you approached the whole thing. Great job in figuring it out!

What a brilliant idea. I would do it with you, but I am not feeling well, and am taking the day off from exercise today.

Your body burns calories all day. The fitbit is accounting for that.

Amazing! I am super impressed :)

Simply amazing!
