I fractured my knee a couple years ago while skiing which of course put my running out for a while. I was able to bike slowly initially and after a couple weeks I could bike at a decent speed. When I went to physical therapy they started me biking right away. This was before it healed. I needed to keep it moving. I have…

I agree with the others... You need to weigh yourself at the start of the day. I always weigh myself after brushing my teeth. Now this does not mean your scale will go down but it will be consistent. I find my scale goes down periodically not every week. As long as you are keeping in control and exercising, it will move…

Don't get so down on yourself. You are doing the right thing. You are beginning again. I set small goals for myself. I try to loose a pound a week but it usually does not show up as a pound a week. It averages that amount. I also believe that you need to eat more. I never really believed that until I used MFP. I seem to be…

I agree with others that you should weigh yourself at the same time. Also, measure your success by how your clothes fit. I find it far more rewarding to fit into a pair of jeans that have been in the back of the closet (due to not fitting) than the scale. Exercise works regardless of the scale. Keep up the good work... the…

Maybe I am a little confused. I am in week 1. I saw this thread and joined. Where is the details pertaining to the column tracking and the weeks. but.. for now, I am in my first week of sit up challenge trying to make 200. Day 3 - 110 sit ups done after completing 45 minutes of lower and upper body workouts using the balance ball. My children gave me the balance ball and dvd for Mother's Day. It is a great way to get a good workout anytime. I highly recommend it.

Time to change doctors! If your doctor does not listen to you and does not encourage you then he is not good for you. I have been going to female doctors for 20 years. I find that female doctors listen and have more than likely gone through what you are going through. Good luck!

I did 100 situps this morning after biking.

Hi, I am new to this thread. I am 56 and have been 15 to 20 pounds over weight for many many years. I just logged into this site 2 weeks ago. I run but have been labeled a heavy weight runner. :-( . My personal goal last month was to increase my mileage. I ran greater than 20 miles a week. I met that goal. I now want to…

Think of exercise as a way of taking care of you. I know that exercise helps prevent many diseases. A good strong body can fight off health. Do the exercise not to loose weight but to improve your overall health. Walking is a good start! By the way, you don't necessarily eat all the calories you burn.
