I totally agree except for the turkey sandwich would satiate me better, but if you'd rather eat the cheeseburger, that's fine. If the main goal is being healthier, what works for you and causes you to take in fewer calories and thus lose weight is what's healthiest. Not eating the most "natural" or "healthy" food. "Health…

If you have a doctor who has told you to watch your sodium, it's not the best. But sodium intake is really overrated, not really anything most people have to worry about. And you certainly can get some high calorie foods at subway, but it is much easier to find low calorie, high protein foods and there's alot of veggies…

More protein is probably better, but it depends on your goals...the general guidline I've heard is one gram of protein per pound of goal body weight. That is assuming you're not trying to cut too much. If you're more focused on losing/cutting you should probably go lower.

Exactly. I don't understand why anyone would use the smith machine. It doesn't prevent you from injuring yourself, it makes it more likely.

I thought I was the only one...

i started today. It's going to be a long 2 months, but I can handle it.

Aspartame is safe! Unless you think the jury's still out on science...http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/artificial-sweeteners None of the conspiracy/scare tactics/superstition information is supported by legitimate science, i.e.double blind studies.

I plan on buying it today from someone on craig's list and trying it tomorrow. Can't wait!

I was 285 about 5 years ago. I'm currently at 200 and my long term goal is about 180, or 12% body fat.

I tried the better 'n peanut butter and it is really sweet and not as satisfying...I think I will probably stay with the real thing, and cut calories elsewhere.
-
Anyone tried this and Walden Farms, Peanut Spread and/or Better N' Peanut butter? I love peanut butter but it takes so many of my calories!
-
sodium schmodium...what happens if you have too much? Not really anything.

Great info!

Not possible, sorry, but I would suggest weightlifting if you don't want to get "too skinny" you could theoretically lose little weight and get slimmer.

Negatives are good, but inverted rows are even better. Better yet, do both! http://www.menshealth.com/fitness/inverted-row

I am on for May 14th, which is my wedding day. I know, sounds like a girl thing...

1200 calories=one pint of Ben and Jerry's.

Wow...9.5

Do you mean in a row? Because give me enough time, I think I could...Also, I would rather be able to do 20 pullups.

This is a false assumption. It goes without saying there are "biased" sources, but the issue is whether the information is credible i.e. peer reviewed, double blind, etc. There are plenty of biases to go around, to assume that information is misleading or false simply because the source has a interest in it is quite simply…

I lost 60lbs drinking the stuff and never starved or felt any increased desire for sweets or anything else. And aspartame has not been proven to actually have any harmful effects. http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/aspartame.asp

Natural doesn't mean healthy, neither does unnatural make it unhealthy. Arsenic, cyanide, ricin, anthrax and botulism all occur "naturally" and could be considered "organic."

squats, pushups, push presses, wood chops are good whole body exercises...plenty of videos available on youtube, but you will need a comprehensive program, and I do a 5x5 program, but that's more for building pure muscle.

Definitely don't eat more if you're not hungry. Just don't make up for it the next day by pigging out, though an occasional cheat meal is cool.
-
Maybe once I get my "after" pic...
-
I hope I can do it this year, it's actually coming to Minnesota this year twice, so maybe I can do it both times.
-
This is awesome. At the very least, it proves you don't have to have a disgusting, painful diet to take care of yourself.

I did it. You're doing too much cardio. Cardio does no good if you want to keep your muscle. It is possible to lose fat and gain muscle, but not easy. I would suggest you concentrate on following a diet that works and is high in protein and strength training 3-4x a week. And cut out the cardio altogether, it will sabotage…
