You should also try interval training. If you are doing machines at the gym, hop on the treadmill and increase your speed for 2 mins, slow down, increase, slow down, etc. Or do an incline for a few minutes, bring it back down, etc. Same goes for any other cardio machine. I like to switch up my workouts often, so I get…

How many calories would you say you'd be taking in every day under Level 1? I'm doing P90X and I eat under Level 2. Do you take the recovery drink?

I have the same habit as you, and was awful in college! Especially come test time! But now when I snack, I limit myself to certain times of the day and calories that I can consume during that snack. For instance, I know my 2 snack periods are at 10am and 3pm (ish). I will allow myself a protein bar, generally in the…

I was on the fence for so many years about cleanses/fasts, until I got to understand them a little better. There are definitely the ones out there, like the "lemonade fast" that I think is useless and does more harm than good - hence many of the posters on here that say they gained all the weight back, and then some - but…

Regardless of the order you choose, just remember that MUSCLE BURNS FAT. Cardio will burn calories, no doubt about that, but once you stop your cardio activity, so does the calorie burn. With strength training or weight training, you continue to burn calories throughout the day. It's important to incorporate both into your…

You can really get away with just using resistance bands and a door attachment. If you have free weights, great, but no need to go buy a whole set. The bands will do the trick nicely, and offer great modification for the pull ups. Or you can get a good pull up bar at yoru local sports store. Iron Gym is a great one, for…

Have you heard of Slim in 6? It's a Beachbody program and does wonders for the ol' legs! Lots o' squats and lunges. Will shape up your entire body, in fact, but does incorporate a lot of leg work. I love it. Let me know if you have questions on it! Taryn

Thanks Becky! That was the philosphy I've been going of off, as it's been the way I've functioned on my P90X program and tend to guide my customers/coaches. Just needed a little outside validation! LOL.

Great job! Chalene's workouts are no walk in the park, are they?? That's what I love about her programs. I've got Turbo Jam's and her newest, ChaLEAN Extreme. All great stuff. Good job, before you know it, you'll have built up the stamina to power through the entire program. Stick with it and keep pushing play!

I'm currently training for a marathon (my first) and train heavily through the week to build up for my long runs on the weekends. My question is, in tracking my food intake on here, I'm "earn an ___ amount of calories" each day, depending on my workout, right? Well on the days I do my long runs (up to 17 miles so far), I'm…

Beachbody has an awesome meal replacement called Shakeology. Check it out: www.shakeology.com. I've been taking it for 2 months and LOVE it. Happy to answer questions or I can help you order it. Taryn www.choose2befit.com

I'm with ya...and most of the hilarious comments on this thread. I'm not so much afraid of the gym, I just HATE the gym. I don't care for the sleazy trainers (sorry PT's no offense, as I'm sure most are great, the ones at my gym can't hold their job for longer than 30 days), leaching onto me asking me what I'm trying to…

Welcome! I'm new back here too! Realized I needed to get control of my portions and by tracking them here, it's helped tremendously! I have 2 kids too (3 year and 1 year), so I can relate with wanting to get that baby weight off. What type of workout program are you doing? I'd be happy to share what's been working for me!…

As mentioned above, I thinking getting your workout done before you head into work will make a world of difference in your energy and stamina to get through the day. I used to work long hours as well, but found if I got up at 5am and go my workout done, I felt 110% better. The initial wake up is tough, but 2 mins into…
