I can completely relate. There was a time when it started to almost take over my life hah, its all I thought about. That, I do have to say, is pretty unhealthy. I am not a medical doctor but I can only speak of my experience. Until I was able to let go of the anxiety just around food, my weight and general perception of…

Hahaha I am still alive. Is it difficult, hell yes but is it worth it, of course. Just remember to push yourself, mind over matter BUT take a break if you need it. Dont feel embarrassed if you need a breather or some water and everyone else is pushing forward. At the beginning, try to focus on your form- strength and…

I agree with everyone but if you are interested in also upping protein without animal (I AM NOT VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN OR ANYTHING SIMILAR WHATSOEVER HAH) or if you are concerned about fat/cholesterol: beans, nuts, seeds, tofu, avocado, broccoli, or yogurt, eggs, cottage cheese, regular cheese, nut butters 1 cp of peas has…

I am going to assume that they both have fairly similar caloric/fat value. Even though its trout, its over coated in a little flour and soaked in butter. I would get either. No one said you had to eat the whole thing, and it you do, who cares? Maybe they will have some amazing sides!!

I had one of those nights the other night- no clue where it came from! I try and save some calories for the evening, just in case I want a snack. If I do, I have it but I go into the kitchen knowing exactly what I am having. I even eat it in front of my computer so I actively am logging it haha! Tonight, I already know I…

I absolutely love watermelon in the summer. I will juice a whole watermelon and then switch up my daily juice each day. I love watermelon with water/coconut water, mint, cucumbers, and either lemon or lime! Delicious

What is the other option...sitting on the couch? Of course its worth it, you are already one step ahead of every other person who decided to not focus on creating a better version of themselves. Last year I ran the Race for the Cure and my parents walked behind. Regardless of how we finished, we finished and it felt great…

Do you have stock? Make a flavorful soup.

Just posted Dr. Perricones Lentil and Turkey Sausage Soup. I absolutely have no clue what the serving size is but I do know its fairly large considering I use 10 cups or water or 10 cups homemade veggie stock. Its freakin fantastic though. So glad I am seeing this post...about 10 years ago I found this recipe for Lentil and Turkey Sausage Soup by Dr. Perricone. My dad made it last week and I completely forgot just how fantastic and easy it was. We always used either ground chicken or ground turkey when making it but I thought I would share. It calls for…

While you are working, you could focus on lunges and squats but I would suggest just full body workouts: jumping jacks, burpees, plank, high knees, etc. Its a full body workout without any equipment. Not sure if you use PINTEREST but they have a Health and Exercise section with TONNNNNNNS of the workouts (images) that you…

Sometimes people dont understand that foolish statements are uncalled for. I see it as a reflection of their own unhappiness with themselves. Just remember: you are doing this for you and F-em all hah!

What you posted sounds okay but logging every last morsel will give you a better indication of what might be 'wrong'. Even though things may be healthy, that doesnt mean that they dont have an increased amount of sugar or fat. Look at coconut, its healthy, but the fat/caloric content is ridiculous. Nut butter, nuts,…

Toast with a smear of veganaise, sliced avocado, maybe some fresh sliced radish, sea salt and black pepper

I agree with StraubreyR... Perfect for soups and beans...obviously it would also be excellent reduced as part of a sauce for basically any meat or pasta. I love pork bone broth with some soy, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, ramen noodle/homemade veggie dumplings, scallions, bok choy/spinach and whatever else you want to throw…

Baked eggplant parm Stuffed portobello mushrooms vegetarian thai lettuce wraps Spinach, white beans, garlic, yellow onion in a vegetable broth (if you are craving pasta one night, throw that in too!) Vegetarian chili, tortilla soup, or basically any kind of vegetable friendly crockpot soup (makes a ton so you can freeze)…

hmm not too sure about it. I have made squid ink fresh pasta but that was with fresh squid- if you ever have the chance to do it- DO IT! - its phenomenal with the squid, garlic, olive oil....YUM!! I think if you were going to try it, it would probably go better with a white clam sauce

"There are debates over how 'bad' artificial sweeteners (like sucralose, which is Splenda) actually are for you. If anything, though, that's probably where your problems will be."

I think that while some healthy can be expensive- if you are looking to remain on a budget, its more than doable. One of the best things my parents taught me was to cook everything from scratch- with that, i am much more conscious of the food i buy and therefore the money i spend. there is nothing worse than vegetables…
