i have been walking from July 2011 and now I am up to 7.5 to 8 miles for a regular thrice weekly walk with occasions up to 13.5 miles. I don't know if I qualify. I started in July with walking as the aerobic exercise and supplemented with some weight training. I have bad knees as a legacy of a youth playing basketball on a concrete floor. I have lost about 36 pounds so far and i have about 32 more to go.

I've set mine at 2 pounds per week, but I don't seem to achieve it. I seem to be doing 1 a week. I also set my caloric needs below the value suggested. Slow going though.
