If you think your body can't handle jogging/running now, modify the C25K to only walking. If it takes twice as long...so be it. At least you're moving! Of course, if you're still on the fence, ask your doctor.

there is no "one size fits all" in here. What works for me, might not work for you. With that said, i'm 5'4 and currently 167 lbs. I've set my cals to lose a 1/2 pound a week....i net 1560 calories and this has worked so far. Slow and steady wins the race.

if you gross 1700 cals then you are only netting 1050-1150 cals.....try grossing 2000 cals. that should put you at around 1400-1500 net. There is no "one size fits all" to this. You'll have to keep tweaking until you find what's right for you.
