We JUST lost our Shakey's about 3 months ago. It was the oldest pizza place in our town. Kind of sad.

Yes, and my body tends that way ANYWAY, so I have to eat Fiber Tabs.

Welcome and best of luck to you on your road to health! :flowerforyou:

It is ultimately up to you, but healthy choices are easier in some places than in others. I also truly believe that everyone has to find the place where they are "in their element". I am originally from southern California. I was insecure and uptight all the time because I just wasn't comfortable in the area where we…

White Snake or Def Leppard will help the burn as well.

And the correct Jazzercise-inspired workout clothes? Leg warmers and a headband are a MUST!
-
it goes against everything MFP teaches you - slow and steady wins the race. Also, do you really want to be messing with hormones? I don't think that is very healthy. Weight loss, but at what price?
-
Ha ha, that is the perfect way to describe it!
-
What exactly is she opposed to? The weight loss itself or the method you are using? (I.e., are you going really strict on what you eat or limiting your calories?)

*Sigh*. I love to draw, but it comes out more like doodling. I was not blessed with any artistic ability either. I am what is known as an Appreciator of Art.

They are good for you! I make them homemade so I know all the ingredients, but they are yummy and full of vitamins and fiber so just watch portion size and then you should be ok.

My friend's son has a "Marley & Me" type of dog that ate duct tape. It required 2 surgeries to remove it all from his intestines. This happened 4 days before his owner's wedding. I'm pretty sure the vet got all the wedding gift money.

EXACTLY. I work for a school district. The kids who have behavioral issues are supposed to get "fixed" during school hours and then we send them back to the same crappy environment that messed them up in the first place. HOW does that work?
-
My son is NOT allowed to eat those. I choose not to because of the side effects, but at 20 years old, he is already worried about his fiber intake so he asked me to buy them for him. I made THAT mistake ONCE. He, of course, thought it was hilarious to cause a cloud of stink in the house.

Great job! You look great!:flowerforyou:

I was able to follow the link to picture one. Please try to repost so I can see pic 2.

How about old (ish) ladies? I'm in Maple Valley. Add me if you'd like.

Nuts are very good for you, but they are high in calories so just be sure to measure them out. The fats are good for your heart and cholesterol. We actually use shot glasses - my hubby has a collection - to measure them out of the container for both peanuts and almonds. That way, we know we are getting about 1 oz. of nuts.…

Boredom and PMS. The latter is infinitely more dangerous. Extra exercise and not keeping any garbage to eat in the house are the best ways to ward off a meltdown for me.
-
Be MINDFUL of what you are eating. Try to get some exercise in. You can do it.

I do this when I am working. I do one bar in the morning for a snack and one protein shake in the afternoon. I aim for one with at least 20g of protein or they don't satisfy me. I also look for high fiber and low sugar content. For the shake, I use Premier Protein chocolate flavor that is carried at Costco. Their bars a…

Hubby and I did it and he lost 50 pounds in about 5 weeks. I could only last a week and lost 10 in that short amount of time. We gained it all back as soon as we ended it. It is NOT the way to go in the long run. She will come to hate the taste of that soup, trust me. I felt weak and tired by the end of the week.
-
Thanks, everyone!
-
I can do this too. Pizza is one of the foods for which I have no "off" button. I have learned to not keep things in the house that make my "off" button not work.

DITTO! For the doctor to ignore you like that means that this is NOT the right doctor for you!!! That is horrible! Find a new doc! I agree that doctors should help us to be mindful of our health, but not in a dismissive way like this doctor did. Oh, I am ANGRY on your behalf now!!! :explode:

A little over 1800. We went on a 4 hour hike on Mom's weekend near where my son goes to college. We thought it would take about an hour. We were SOOOO hungry when we got back into town, I think we promptly ate back all those calories!
-
Olive oil IS good for you, but it is also high in calories. I do count it. I never feel badly for eating it, though! I don't count sugar free gum, but other than that I pretty much count everything.
-
Good morning! I did not log my exercise minutes on my food diary because today was a stretch day, but I am counting them here because while it doesn't burn many calories, I feel it is important. My minutes so far: 7/1: 57 minutes 7/2: 96 minutes 7/3: 52 minutes Everyone enjoy your Sunday!

There is a book called "The Clean Eating Diet" by Tosca Reno. It is actually meant to be a way of life. I try to follow it on the weekdays and cut some slack on the weekends. I feel better when I follow it and I tend to get more of my fruits and veggies in.
-
I personally prefer eating clean. I feel better, I have more energy and I can eat bigger portions because clean foods in general have less calories than junk. However, I relax a bit on the weekends. I agree that you shouldn't deprive yourself completely, but eating more fruits, whole grains, veggies and lean protein is a…
