  • I lost 80 pounds doing IF. Strength was not reduced much and I didnt notice much loss in muscle mass. The way I did it was two large meals twice a day. Breakfast and dinner. I found that it kept hunger at bay because instead of eating 6 tiny meals a day I ate two meals that didnt even make me think I was on a diet. I…
  • I lost 80 pounds. Went to America and gained 30 pounds. Signed up to a new gym 3 days after getting back to Australia to lose that weight again. I am 100% dedicated to this. I say to all my friends that if you count your calories and work out consistently, results will come as certain as the sun will rise tomorrow.
  • Sydney here. Cutting excess fat for the second time because I went overseas for three months. Feel free to add me.
  • You are correct that it is harder for women to lose weight than men. Men are biologically capable of losing more fat and being leaner than women. Its the harsh reality. The reason you see a lot of men saying that starvation mode is a myth is that a lot of the men on this site are also members of other fitness forums. These…
  • Ok this thread is covered in misconceptions and broscience so I will do my very best to clear this all up for you. If you want any further information, feel free to send me a message and I can advise you on diet and exercise to a greater extent. I dont know why people on these forums advocate this 1200 calorie rule. There…
  • I do it and love it.
  • Simply measuring your heart rate is not an accurate estimate of how many calories you have burned. You need complex equipment that measures things such as your body temperature, height, age, body fat percentage, amount of carbon dioxide exhaled etc etc etc. Simply put, do not rely on HRMs of any sort to be accurate. They…
  • Starvation mode is a myth. Do not eat back exercise calories. MFP takes into account your activity level when working out your caloric intake per day. This is why it asks for your activity level (i.e. how often you work out). It has already factored this in. Secondly, the caloric burn from cardio machines is very…
  • How many people reply to a stupid thread.... 18... including myself....
  • Easily 10,000 calories. Christmas eve I ate the equivalent of a small farm in meat and half of willy wonkas chocolate factory. Gained 16lbs of water weight.
  • Elliptical trainers are good. If you want the cheapest option, go for a stationary bike. You can get that for a few hundred dollars, you can watch TV whilst on it and it doesnt take up much space.
  • It means they have lost water weight that their body is carrying. Water weight makes little to no visible difference on your physical appearance until you are at a very low body fat percentage. I.e. for me, it makes the difference in ab definition. Less water = slightly more cut abs. It will make you lose weight on the…
  • Breakfast is non essential. Meal timing is not essential. Macronutrient sufficiency and caloric intake is essential. Eat when you want and what suits your daily activity. I eat a big breakfast, skip lunch and have a big dinner. Research Itermittent Fasting. Heaps of people do it with excellent results.
  • Eat 2500 calories. Do less cardio. Lift heavy weights at the gym 3-4x a week. Profit. /thread
  • Listen to my post. I have researched this to death. At your weight it is fine. Unless you are feeling lethargic and weak of course... Keep calories as they are and enjoy the faster weight loss. You can cut down on the exercise for now and enjoy the weight loss with less cardio. Trust me I have done my research. Once you…
  • Do not take this the wrong way, but there are advantages to being so overweight. You are able to cut your fat on a caloric goal of 2500. In fact, you could go even lower if you wanted. This is because severely overweight people are capable of running on a very low caloric intake with little to no health disadvantages.…
  • How do you know these people are getting deleted? It is the harsh state of society right now that men are all considered to be over-sexualised pervs. Oh well... I dont make inappropriate comments (I dont think) so I am safe :)
  • I would never do that to you Kymmu! ;)
  • Dont eat them back. Your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) takes into account calories burned during exercise already. Thats why it asks for your activity level. Eating back exercise calories will just slow your progress. If you feel fine and your workouts arent lacking, dont eat them. The caloric burn on the cardio…
  • 23 year old from Australia. I have already lost 46 lbs and am looking to lose another 10 or so. Feel free to add me.
  • Awesome breakfast. Gotta try that one. One thing to watch is the sodium content of the ham though.
  • Dont eat them back. It is easy to over estimate how much you have burned because it is hard to accurately track it. It is easier to track what goes into your mouth rather than the energy you expend.
  • Diet coke is fine. Stay away from gatorade. It is loaded with sugar and carbs. Its a sports drink. It is meant for drinking when you are completely depleted of energy and electrolytes. Drink diet soda and you will be fine.
  • Brb hitting squat rack :P
  • Yeah he likes you. Making physical contact is a good sign that hes interested. It seems he was looking for excuses to break down that barrier and make some sort of contact. He also invited you over to his place. Now why on earth would he do that? :P. Furthermore, you chilled with him at his place and even played video…
  • Added :)
  • I like it when women lift free weights. It shows that they know what they are doing and I am really impressed! I also try my best to let them have their space and I dont look at them much (I am only human though). I think a guys biggest fear is lifting around the guys who are generally bigger and more muscular. I am…
  • I can vouch for her. She does :P
  • I work out 6-7 days a week. Add me if you like :)
  • I do not eat them back. It is easy to over-estimate calories burned doing cardio. Even a HRM is not that accurate. There are so many other factors that need to be taken into account. Just go with how you feel. If you feel fine, keep at it. If you start to feel down or weak, eat back some of the calories until you are…
