Be very careful. You're likely to regain when you start eating normally. Increase your cals slowly when you make it to goal.

You can play around with positioning (high bar vs. low bar squats) or even front squats. Some gyms have padding that you clip or velcro to the bar. As you build the muscles in your back, it will hurt less.

Yeah. If I go outside right now, there are thrips and aphids crawling on my tomato and pepper plants. There are japanese beetles eating my green beans. When I was a child, growing up in the country, we'd pick the beetles off the blackberries and eat the berries. And, I'm still alive. Go figure.

I weigh about the same as you (albeight older!), so you're welcome to look at my diary. Weight tends to fall off when I eat just above BMR, BUT I still loose at TDEE-20%. Fortunately, you have a lot of wiggle room. It'll be trial and error until you find your body's sweet spot.
