  • This sounds SO good! I really need to splurge and buy some brie...
  • Oh, I know, all of the baby doll shirts get me... with the elastic on top that hits in just the *wrong* area. I feel like I live in jeans and t-shirts, and black dress pants and a couple of slightly nicer tops.
  • I was just where you are a few weeks ago (minus the chiropractor, I am jealous!) so no judgment from me. I'll still not really exercising.... but I'll do as much as I can!
  • Well, my scale is going beserk and I haven't managed to get new batteries yet. I'm going to say my initial WI is 215 (it is very close to that, and I have no way of getting back out to the store today).
  • I'm interested! I'll be trying to lose 10-15 pounds. I am not sure on weight, but I'll weigh in tomorrow and post my starting weight.
  • I very rarely drink alcohol, maybe once or twice a year. I never really grew up with it being a social thing, and now it is not good for either my wallet or waistline!
  • Sending friend request now... I am just over 5' and started out with just over 100 to lose too. I lost 35 of that last year... then hit a major plateau and then backslide (gained about 15 back which is not reflected on my profile right now). I'm recommitting and back to lose some more! I know how important it is to have…
  • Jumping in really late on this challenge! Hi, I'm Melody. I used to participate in these challenges and then I hit a huge plateau and then I went AWOL over the summer and now I am back and trying to get re-motivated. I have lost not quite 40 pounds and have 70ish left to go to get to a healthy weight. I love reading,…
  • I don't think it is rude to bring your own thing but I also think this could be a good opportunity to work with what you have and compromise a bit. For example... bring chicken for the grill (no big deal to make it instead of steak) but eat a slightly healthier breakfast with their stuff (eggs without cheese/bacon, maybe…
  • I do. However, I (now) live in a fairly nice residential neighborhood and I just walk around the neighborhood for a mile or so. I still get nervous if it is getting close to twilight, and I keep my cell phone on me. I've lived in other parts of my city where I wouldn't dream of walking alone at night (or during the day,…
  • Completely agree! I'm just over 5 feet... and I'm about where you started right now. :) My big goal is to get to 130 (which is still about 70 pounds away!) but I'm pretty sure I'll be trying to lose a little more than that too.
  • I'm making both of these this week -- may substitute low fat cheddar for the Swiss though (and RF crescent rolls) http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Ham-And-Swiss-Quiche/Detail.aspx?prop31=2 http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Ham-n-Swiss-Rolls/Detail.aspx?prop31=1 Besides that, we are having lots of ham sandwiches...
  • Starting weight 202.4 on 4/24/2011 (Note: I lost something like 2 pounds during the Easter challenge... but I think this starting weight reflects A LOT of water weight!( 4/27 -- 199.8 (-) 5/4 - 5/11 - 5/18 - 5/25 - 6/1 - 6/8 - 6/15 - 6/22 - 6/27 – [Goal weight 190] To date: 2.6 pounds lost (all water weight I am sure)...…
  • start weight (2/20) -- 205 2/25 - 204.2 (-) 3/4 - 202.6 (-) 3/8 - 201.6 (-) NO SCALE CHALLENGE 4/25 202.4 (+) :( For an official loss of 2.6 pounds.
  • So... apparently I did accomplish nothing else by the Lenten scale diet. WI this morning was 202.4... up .8 from 7 weeks ago. I know there is some water weight in there but not 7 pounds of it! Disappointed here. :(
  • I really have my heart set on losing about 7 pounds too, which is about a pound a week. I have eaten horribly the last few days though and have a lot of water retention going on too so I am not sure what the scale will say! I am at least reasonably confident that I am in ONEderland (I was at 201.6 at last WI) so that will…
  • Mine is currently hanging out in my closet... :) (I never had it displayed at home. It was at work when I was working FT and had my own office... now I don't really see the point to having it up!) I think the 3M idea sounds the best if you do want it on the wall.
  • I'm in! I'll post my starting weight on Sunday when I weigh in next but I am thinking that I'd like to lose 10 pounds over the 9 week challenge. I'm Melody, I am a mostly SAHM to the greatest 5 year old I know. I love to read and I love to cook, though I'm slightly burned out (no pun intended!) on cooking right now.
  • I definitely need to up the water intake so I'll be doing this weekend's challenge! WI on Sunday for me and I am both excited and terrified to see what the scale says after not weighing for 7 weeks! Great job to everyone on the challenge. I am glad there is another one up and I will be weighing in much more frequently on…
  • OH, MY! Is that a Cadbury egg INSIDE a cupcake? I have to admit I've given in to too much Easter candy temptation already. :) That just means less splurging on and after Easter though! Got to focus on getting water in this week... and I am scared about the scale too!
  • I would probably pack some healthy snacks (fruit, nuts) and opt for a "healthy" restaurant option. Or possibly pack a sandwich for lunch and grab a fruit and yogurt parfait at McDonalds to go with it.
  • Definitely eat something with protein for breakfast. Whenever I just eat cereal I am starving in a couple of hours too (which doesn't bode well for today but that was all I had on hand!)
  • I am planning on weighing in every 2 weeks after this too. I'll see how that goes for a couple of months before changing it. Right now, I am just terrified that I am going to get on the scale and discover that it hasn't budged. The fact I've been eating junk for the past week isn't helping.
  • You look great!
  • I've never canned before... can you just use a large pot (or even buy a canning one) to sterilize without having to buy the canning equipment? These sound amazing!
  • Bananas here too... followed by Bev's Healthy Chocolate Chip cookies (which I haven't had in months, I must have been on a cookie kick at some point), butter, parmesan cheese and coffee. Hmmm.... that list was much healthier a few months ago...
  • I think it makes you look bigger than you do. I have lost not-quite 40 pounds and mine have shrunk from a DDD to a DD (in some bras, not all) and I really think that the few comments I have gotten about weight loss are from my boobs shrinking. I completely agree to get a good supportive bra. I think it makes more of a…
  • Lane Bryant Ultimate Sport Bra :) Admittedly I'm not much of a runner but they work for me jogging in place or jumping jacks. (And I am a similar size to you)
  • I have heard to use yogurt as well... for eating and otherwise.
  • I do the same... and they are better than store bought chips! I sprinkle on some popcorn salt sometimes but they are really good unsalted as well. You can also bake at 350 or so if you are like me and get distracted while baking. :)
