Thanks you very much for the response, I never new 6mph was fast - it was just the most convenient setting on the treadmill lol I`ll try slowing down and running longer with some higher intensity runs in-between and not worry so much about building muscle right now. You were very helpful so thank you again.

realized when I couldn't walk up 4 flights of stairs without stopping I'd fallen a long way from what I was. Used to be a gymnast who represented my province and even managed to get a gold in it but here I was unable to walk up 4 flights of stairs. So i quite smoking and started working out and watching what I eat.

This is a great group for support and has pushed me to exceed what I thought I could I do. At one point I could never have conceived of running for more than 5 min and now I'm almost up to 20 min. Good luck and get a very good pair of shoes - they really pay off in the end. :)

Well I consider myself moderately active and I do an hour of gym each day 6 days a week, not sure if that will help you though. I think lightly active would be 20 minutes a day 3 days a week from what I've read on other sites.

I always train on the treadmill in the gym and I just try to remember that I go to gym to look good not to look good at gym, if that makes any sense. I always feel fantastic after and listen to either an audio book / tunes or a lecture while I'm doing it. Good luck with your run
