Sounds like what you're doing is on point and very sustainable

I would suggest a heart rate monitor if accuracy is your intention. Every person will be different including you and your wife. The same workout might be 400 for her and 650 for you. I know on the yoga days it was only like 100 calories burned.

That's true. It is essentially just another version of an exchange program. Richard Simmons "Deal a Meal" also was a similar thing. But I can say it is lifestyle worthy. But if you want to do the same thing in MFP, set your calorie goal to the same calculated range it gave you. Do not eat back exercise calories because…

Clean eating is actually pretty relevant for some people who care about nutrition and not just weight loss. You can eat 1500 calories of junk all day, lose weight and be completely malnourished and unhealthy. The program itself is on point. The people who follow it just don't find it as "convenient" and give up.

The macros with 21 day fix work out to 30% protein, 40% carbs, 30% fat. That's pretty standard isn't it? What % of protein do you suggest?

I lost my containers a long time ago but still use the program. I know what the container equivalents are so thsts all you really need to use you own measuring cups. You don't actually eat out of the containers anyway, they are just essentially a visual guide color coded to an exchange program. 21 day fix meal plan is my…

I'm finishing up week one on the meal plan and then will be starting to add in the workouts now that I seem to have a hang on that. I really love this program. It's very educational about clean eating, portion control, and macronutrients in the most simplistic way possible. I have lost over 50 pounds on it in the past…

In terms of teaching people about "balance" the 21 day fix is AMAZING. I have done every diet known to man. The fix is not a diet, or a fad, or anything but teaching someone with years of bad habits how to begin portioned, balanced, and eliminating processed and artificial foods out of your diet. I did it for a while, and…

We've come a long way together baby, but the hard work you have put in amazes me. Since this post you have had a new baby who is now a 2 year old monster, and got your degree and we moved into an amazing home..and you're fitting right back into those old clothes from your "glory days". Derailed for a moment, but still…

Got mine a few days ago and love it, though I will say compared to what my old chest strap polar ft7 would give for a heart rate and calorie burn during a workout, there is a considerable discrepancy. Weightlifting and cross fit.

By the way, I just got a fitbit surge this week and absolutely love it. It monitors heart rate all day long whereas the others couldn't really tell if you were running or walking or what intensity you were moving. Its also got bult in GPS, tracks stairs, and definitely has me pushing to get those last few steps or calories…

I now live an active lifestyle and can safely eat around 1400 calories to lose weight at a normal rate. It took me so many years to get my metabolism back to normal though. If I ate even 1,000 I would have gained. I'm grateful for the surgery but there is no denying that the way it has you losing weight is not safe or…

I'm still here! This is home. Lots has changed this year. I finally found my trigger foods that were causing attacks. Through elimination I have not been in the hospital for a full year now. Found shakeology, and with that turned my life towards coaching and helping others. The more friends the merrier

Hi there! I've been at this a long time and for me the accountability partners is one of the best motivation ever. I run a facebook group called Commit to Fit: Health and Fitness through Accountability and Friendship. Would love to have you join if you're interested. We do mini challenges every month to help things seem…

Congrats on the baby though! Always a blessing, even with a few extra pounds to drop. Feel free to add me. I'm 34 with 3 kiddos ages 14, 9 and 2. I also run a support/accountability/challenge group on Facebook with a ton of moms in it if you would like to join. We do little challenges month by month to take things in…

I'm currently doing a mix and match between 21 Day Fix, PiYo, and P90.
-
Thank you everyone! As you can see this is an older post, but I'm still here and still going strong!
-
I'm always happy to offer support. I also have an off MFP accountability group I run so anyone is welcome to add me. I'm a great cheerleader and accountability partner
-
Adding you as a friend. I'd be happy to help. The default settings in MFP aren't realistic and don't try to give you nearly enough protein.
-
I'm always happy to help. I do it for me and I do it for a gaggle of friends. Sending you an add

My story and pics has resurfaced in the success stories group again. May be what you're even referring to, not sure. Either way, don't let your fear of skin and your aversion to how it looks prevent you from prioritizing your health first. If you're not afraid of surgery and scars then just make that your final reward to…

Bump for a friend who couldn't find it
-
I was the type who always had to tell people I was pregnant because I knew in reality they thought I was just getting fatter since I am already a bigger girl to begin with. I have small babies. Full term I just had a bump the size of a normal 4 month along person. I went and paid my rent to the landlord every month through…

I refuse to look at sugar. My goal is just to make sure that what sugar I am eating is coming from things like fruit and not processed and refined sugars like ice cream and bon bons. Don't stress too much. This is nothing more than data, but you are never going to hit the perfect macros and stay under on everything day in…

I found MFP's default macros to be ridiculous. I adjusted mine in my settings to be 45% carbs/ 30% protein/ 25% fat. Protein is essential to alot of things, including feeling full longer, muscle growth and repair after exercise...so I aim for as high as I can on those. If I go over, I'm thrilled. But fat I want to stay…

I've always been a chips or cheese-its snacker at night. I completely know this feeling. But since getting serious about losing again, I have been trying to pay attention to my triggers. My late night cravings have come and gone around 1 thing, and 1 thing only....whether I drank enough water during the day or not. If I…

Exactly why I clicked here as well!

I'd love to know where the original came up with 40 calories from fat in the first place. Last time I checked a gram of fat counted as 9 calories. Simple math. 9 x 8= 72, not 40! WTH

Easy Pork with Hoisin Sauce (Chinese Stir Fry) Makes 4 servings, approximately 431 cals, 13 g fat, 51 g carbs, 30 g protein *Not for those on a low sodium diet for sure 1 pound pork tenderloin 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil Salt and pepper 4 medium garlic cloves, smashed 12 ounces green beans, cut into 1-inch lengths 1/4…

I had gastric bypass surgery 10 years ago, so if I may defend it and answer some questions from the perspective of experience. Like a poster above said, this surgery was designed to both restrict the amount I could eat and reduce the amount my body absorbs from what I do actually eat. I have seen time and time again where…
