  • I am in fact on what most would consider a vlcd. I eat from 800-1000 calories a day. Aim for more if I workout just to sustain some energy but what others have said here isn't untrue either. These are not taken lightly because you can become malnourished, lose energy, have a tendency to binge when you get overwhelmed, gain…

  • I'm always open to new friends.
  • Commenting so I can come back to this after I finish my fat loss journey. Good info. Congrats to OP.
  • That's where I am at now too. This is the homestretch for me though....it's a super exciting time and I'm more committed than ever. Feel free to add me if you like. I am a pretty good cheerleader.
  • This has me losing about 3 lbs a week
  • I would welcome meal plans for sure. My instructions were basically keep each meal under 300 calories and get between 60-80 grams of protein a day. I have my macros set at 45/30/25 pcf to achieve that.
  • I do watch and love it because its my workout show. I basically get on my treadmill and walk the entire hour and I love seeing the transformations. That being said I also know the show is set up to look like something it's not...and what we view as a period of a week actually takes place over the duration of 2-3 weeks.…
  • This is helping me so much. Thank you ladies.
  • Olivia method is only really necessary if mfp tells you to eat 1200 calories to lose 2 pounds a week but isn't a low enough deficit to actually get you to 2 lbs a week. But I think you basically have the gist. I prefer the MFP BMR calculator and have found it pretty accurate. Maintenance weight = 1790 minus BMR weight 1490…
  • I too have GI problems and have been hospitalized with bowel obstructions. It always seemed to follow me going on a diet. The fatty foods and sweets always go down so lovely and as soon as I would try to incorporate a whole grain high fiber approach (which in the normal world is supposed to help you go poop) I end up with…
  • Totally agree. What you may feel as a disaster day could just be a couple hundred over calorie goal. Knowing where you faltered makes it 100 times easier to try to make up for it the next day in more exercise or a stricter calorie deficit. Glad you posted this. I read the title and came on here completely anticipating…
  • In short, yes....but smaller people need to have a larger deficit than 1200 calories creates in order to meet their weight loss goal. And if you exercise hard then you need more fuel for your body than 1200 so that's why the recommendation is made to eat your BMR and create the deficit through exercise. It's becuase even…
  • Thank you to everyone. As you can see this is a super old post, but I'm still here and I'm still doing my thing! It's all about lifestyle, right?!? Believe me, it took a lot of years to become comfortable enough with myself and my body to be proud enough of where I have come and where I am in order to post these.…
  • I did not lose it totally naturally. I had gastric bypass in 2003. I lost a considerable amount with that and then since then I have had 2 more kids and still teeter about 30 pounds heavier than I was in the after pic. These days I'm doing the same things as the majority of the rest of you. Trying to make good eating…
  • Thank you for your reply. I'm so sorry you had such a horrid experience with the lapband. I'm in the same boat as far as all the unhealthy foods seem to go down just fine. It's a daily struggle to make good choices, but most of the time I don't. Thank goodness my surgery still leaves me with discomfort if my portion sizes…
  • Great resource, thank you! I'll be starting this as soon as I finish Ripped in 30
  • Just started it yesterday!
  • Curious to know the facts about this too. I was on it my whole adult life except for when I planned my 3 kids. I also have always been overweight. I started dieting right after my son was born on Christmas Eve and dropped another 18 pounds. Started back on the pill 3 weeks ago and I have been at a standstill since despite…
  • You can safely drop more than 2 pounds a week if you are more than 100 pounds overweight, but it is still a good way to set it up. Just don't feel obligated to eat all of your BMR calories. You can instead eat fewer and get a larger deficit....then the exercise calories you burn are all BONUS!
  • I was doing it long term, and was doing quite well as you still reduce your calories gradually as you lose weight by continuously updating your goals on a weekly basis, however, I got pregnant and have been off the wagon for almost a year. I have now got back on the wagon and came right back to this method because it works…
  • thank you all so much!!
  • Nothing is more satisfying than knowing you can do this...I love you baby...I'm so proud of you!
  • Hi everyone. I found out a couple weeks ago, and my due date is December 25th. Very excited for my Christmas baby. That would be awesome to have him/her either christmas eve or christmas day. My little blessing! This will be my 3rd, but my first 2 were from a previous marriage, so my husband and I are excited about sharing…
  • You nailed it!
  • Just a note, I wasn't happy with the amount of calories either so I cut out one of the tablespoons of peanut butter and it made no difference in taste but eliminated about 100 calories and a ton of fat....so there you go! And you can do a 1/4 banana as well.
  • Good luck to you in whatever method you choose. The goal is just to find what works best for YOU!
  • All I can offer is a heartfelt hug and and understanding shoulder. My birthday and my mothers is in november...sisters, hubbies and three in-laws in December, Christmas, new years, then my two kids birthdays in January....always always feel like I'm just trying to cath a breath and a break. For what its worth I have a…
  • As I have! Everything in Raw fruits and Vegetables in the database under the Brand Name FDA GUIDELINES has been added by me. I found it ridiculous to calculate these things by an estimate of what my interpretation of a small vs medium vs large piece of fruit was, and that things rarely seemed to have the correct macro…
  • I have issues with this. I have two kids..5 years apart and weigh exactly the same. My 10 year old daughter is underweight and I can't seem to put enough food in her, and my 5 year old son is being watched closely so as not to become overweight. I was an obese child and remember my mom always trying to get me to diet and…
