  • I was sleeved November 2012. Feel free to add me. I love having friends on MFP who will support and interact.
  • I have a hard time with this. I have lost 105 lbs. I should be in maintenance, but I'm having a hard time with that because when I look in the mirror I still see the same overweight person. I don't know how to maintain. All I know is how to lose and because I still see the same overweight person, losing is what's in my…
  • There's nothing you can do to stop it or at least nothing worked for me. I lost most of mine when I washed it, so I used dry shampoo as often as possible instead of washing. That helped some. It will eventually grow back, but it is very frustrating.
  • I was sleeved one year ago. Feel free to add me. I am always looking for support and friends on MFP!
  • I don't know what the actual truth is about carbonation stretching your pouch, but I do not drink it. My dietician said it would stretch your stomach and to avoid it for life. I haven't had any soda in 4 months and rarely ever do I even crave it.
  • I eat Met RX.
  • I normally eat a chocolate protein bar for breakfast during the week. On weekends I usually eat eggs, bacon, sausage, or a protein shake.
  • I still struggle to get enough protein and water in and I'm a little over 8 weeks out. I like the protein shakes that I buy and I also eat protein bars. I like them both. I love MFP. I changed all of my goals to meet the numbers that I need. Sounds like you are doing great. The weight is coming off and you are getting you…
  • Are you going with the sleeve or did you change your mind?
  • Someone I work with told me to go to Goodwill. She always dresses really cute and finds a lot of her stuff at Goodwill. She gave $3 for an Old Navy sweater that still had the tags on it.
  • I also chose the sleeve for a few different reasons. I didn't like the thoughts of them re-routing my insides (gastric bypass) or constantly having a foreign object (lap band) inside of me. With the bypass you have to take special vitamins for the rest of your life and you have a greater chance of becoming mal-nourished.…
  • My starting weight was 257 in July. I lost 25 lbs. prior to surgery on November 12th. I have lost 20 lbs. since surgery for a total of 45 pounds. My goal is to be at 150 so I still need to lose 62 lbs.
  • Yes, call your doctor. They prescribed a pill for me to take each day to prevent heartburn before I even had surgery.
  • I have been diagnosed with PCOS too, but losing weight has not been a problem for me (of course keeping it off is a different story, LOL). I lost 75 lbs. before having my 3 daughters by doing low carb. The doctor put me on Glucophage at one point and it didn't bother me at all. After I lost the 75 lbs. it really helped…
  • Are you allowed to eat pureed stuff? You could pop some things in the blender to eat. Try to stay as low carb as possible. I'll be in the same situation. I am starting the pureed/soft stage on Thanksgiving day. I'm gonna puree some stuff in the blender to eat, but it depends on what your doctor will allow.
  • I'm having my surgery on Monday, the 12th. Feel free to add me also. I haven't started the post surgery diet yet, but the more support we get, the easier it is.
  • I drink protein shakes, but not for muscle building. I drink Beverly International, both chocolate and cookies and cream. I really like them. I get mine from amazon.com or you can get them directly from the company.
  • Thy didn't give me any. They gave me 12 pills to take the day before sugery, but no injections thankfully!!!

  • I didn't think I was an emotional eater until after I met with the behavioral specialist and we discussed it. I started watching when I wanted to eat and decided, I am very much an emotional eater. I deal with it by taking a break. When I start craving something (if it's not meal time), I wait about 10 minutes and try to…
  • My pre-op diet is 2 weeks of protein shakes for 2 of my meals and a low fat diet for the 3rd. I don't have to count calories.
  • I eat chocolate protein bars and they can really help with that. I also drink chocolate protein and cookies/cream protein shakes. Those help with the sweet cravings. Actually, I never crave anything sweet because of the shakes and bars. Have you tried some raw vegetables such as celery or carrots to help with the wanting…
  • I see that your surgery was scheduled for yesterday. I hope all is going well. Looking forward to updates on your progress!!!!
  • Hi. My name is Cindy. I am 36 years old. I have been overweight all my life. I have 3 small children and I have finally decided enough is enough. I have almost completed the process for the sleeve. I have been approved by the insurance company. I have to go to my last pre-op educational meeting this week. Once I complete…
  • I am working toward the gastric sleeve in the very near future. I have to go to the educational seminar this week, then I will be ready to schedule an appointment with my surgeon. I am looking for people on MFP that have the same experience to add as friends. If you would like to support each other, please feel free to add…
  • I drink Beverly International. I order mine from Amazon because it is cheaper than ordering it direct from the company. I love the cookies and creme as well as the chocolate. I always add ice to both, but also put peanut butter in the chocolate. I love them. I think sometimes I am addicted!!!!
