I'm 46 years old. I want to be strong because I don't want to lose muscle mass (as is typical at my age). I do not believe I will ever be strong enough.

Don't work out on a totally empty stomach. Have a banana or glass of chocolate milk an hour before and drink water during your workout. And yes, see your doctor if it persists.

Congratulations on your progress. I must admit just looking at your plate gives me a slight tummy ache.

Don't focus on one number but your overall health.

Most of my pants are size 8. However, my favorite pair of jeans are a size 4. I know that they're mismarked but I like the sound of it.

This and keep moving. You have plenty of time to worry about weight and just a few short months to create a healthy baby. In answer to your question, I weighed 102 pounds after I gave birth to my first child and 104 after the second. I kept away from junk food, soft drinks, and chocolate. I walked regularly and joined a…

Tuna, yogurt, eggs, almond milk, lactose-free milk, apples, bananas, oatmeal, chicken, black beans, almonds, spinach, feta, bacon bits, salad in a bag.

That can work both ways. I'm not always proud of my top ten, but it doesn't represent everything I eat.

I have a coworker who was interviewed about her weight loss for our employee health/fitness newsletter. At no time did she mention her surgery (even though that was a large part of her weight loss). Initially I looked at this as being dishonest. But in all seriousness, I think that she doesn't metion it in fear of being…

Ditto on the importance of preping anything possible. I also bring a large container of yogurt to work on Mondays and eat it throughout the week. Love to add fruit or granola once in a while. I generally have an apple and boiled egg for a quick snack or a packet or oatmeal. Lastly, we go through stretches of a lot of crock…

I just learned to swim a couple of years ago in preparation for a triathlon. The website I used was http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/ I would recommend lessons as well. Explain your goals to the instructor and you could get a lot of instruction in just a few weeks.

There's one in every crowd. Sorry you had to run into one first thing in the morning. Good to ask for clarification by management at the gym. Sad that a person can't voice their opinion without being rude.

Congrats on remaining strong. I wish I would have been so strong when a package of red licorice showed up near my desk today. Curses.

warm glass of almond milk...mmm

I think the only vegetables my mom served when I was growing up were corn and green beans. I love veggies but probably would have turned up my nose at them earlier in life. Cauliflower, brocolli, asparagus, cooked carrots, squash, sweet potatoes. Now I'm hungry.

So glad that you've begun being mindful and improving your health. As Mpol2 said, don't assume the worst. This could just be more of a much needed wake up call. Keep us updated.

I find that the more active I am the better I eat.
-
Sounds great. I'd love to join you.

We al slip sometimes. Just keep moving and watching what you eat. Don't worry about the step back you'll eventually see the forward momentum.

As much as I needed a vacation, I'll be glad to get back to work and a more regular schedule. We all lack motivation sometimes. It's great that you recognized this early on (4 days and not 4 months). Hopefully your will is stronger than your won't.

I go more by smell thanby date.

So excited to use this. Thanks so much for sharing.

Impressive and inspiring.

I eat a banana or boiled egg prior to working out in the morning. If you're not feeling light headed I'm sure it's fine either way. You'll want to be sure to eat right after you work out to replenish yourself.

I had not (until now) considered using the break room on the far side of the building at work. I'll give it a try this week. It's kind of a win-win. If I don't walk, I miss lunch.

You look fabulous. Fine job.

Great idea both of you. And I'm sure that the bad teeth are not just because of the goodies.

I do this regularly. It also helps me to not overeat. Out of sight out of mind, you know. If it's not practical for you to take a to go box, ask for a half-serving. I generally ask for half at the cafeteria when the dish includes rice or noodles. Else, I overindulge.

Agree. I prefer to peel them right away but when I'm short on time I just toss them in the fridge.

When I was growing up one of my favorites was cottage cheese with pineapple.
