I've been lifting regularly for the last month and recording as cardio as well. I don't know how accurate the calories used are, but I do know that I've lost a couple of pounds.

When I bike I always take a banana and half of a peanut butter sandwich. GU is a good light weight option for running. There are no stores where I ride so I've got to be prepared.
-
My suggestion would be to lift weights also. If there isn't a gym at your school you could buy a pair of 5, 8, and 10 pound weights. Those along with push-ups, squats, and lunges can take you a long way.
-
If it were me I would get one of each. When I bought mine I also ordered an extra strap. They just happened to both be the same size.

If it's a new activity, my thought would be muscle soreness. A few weeks ago I swam for a longer than usual amount of time and used hand paddles. The next day I could hardly move my neck. It took a few days for the shoulder muscles to loosen up. I haven't used the paddles since.

This is a new one.

Black Friday...there's a good idea. I wonder what I need?

My shoe size is 6 or 6 1/2 and the fins that fit me are size 5-6. I don't wear swim socks but don't wear fins any more than 30 minutes.

Very insightful. Thanks. And there is a lot of wisdom here. Our weight fluctuates throughout the day. Be consistent in when you weigh yourself and concern yourself more with your overall health than with one number in particular.

Well said.

Thanks for sharing Beeps. Very encouraging.

I wouldn't necessarily say to rest until you no longer feel it. I might suggest instead to lower your weights just a little to ease your body into it. This would be to avoid both injury and discouragement.
-
If you were overly sore, maybe you should take a day to let your body rest. Not an entire week, mind you, just one day. Great job on not throwing in the towel. It's worth the effort.

Sounds like a win win. My frequent treat is a Whopper Jr with no mayo but if Subway were on my way home it'd be a tough choice.
-
I would use dumbbells also. I find that they allow enough variety to avoid getting bored with one routine. You could try New Rules of Lifting for Women or Body for Life for Women for ideas on exercises.

Congratulations! So glad to hear that you did so well. Next year will be even better.

What a transformation. Great job.

This should be enough of a reminder for you to keep working out and not take any more long breaks.
-
Kudos to you (except for the one last gooder). Not drinking is a good healthy move for your diabetes.

I've heard the fist comment and while I don't know if it's entirely true, if you keep it in mind it should help you to not overeat.
-
Great work. Glad to hear you're seeing results.

Have you discussed this with your doctor or pharmacist? My doctor and pharmacist are two of the smartest ladies I know.

Chips and juice were the first two things to come to my mind as well.

Put your foot on the back of a chair or use a stability ball. You can find a lot of youtube videos that demonstrate different techniques.

I'm 5'0" and weigh 132. A few years ago lost weight using Weight Watchers Core and was down to 118lbs. At that point my husband actually told me not to lose any more weight. My goal now is 125.

Totally agree. But especially almonds. They're gone and I look around to see who ate them.

This is a great idea. We live in the country and have only had four Trick or Treaters in 28 years. It would be a lot easier for me to keep a stash of creepy-crawlies and stickers than candy for the next kiddos regardless of what year they show up. As for the question of candy for me...I did have a couple of Twizzlers that…

In frequent foods on MFP, with 'all meals' selected, my Top Ten looks like this: Apple - Paula Red - Medium Boiled Eggs Eggs with bacon and feta Mcdonald's Egg White Delight Mcmuffin Fat Free Plain Yogurt Burger King - Whopper Jr. No Mayo Tuna Sandwich Scrambled eggs with spinach, bacon, and feta Generic - Fish - Blue Gill…

It's been a few years but I don't remember having to deviate from my regular eating much at all. Soup is always an option if you're in pain for a few days later.

Yep. Totally jaw dropping.
