  • I'm currently 234 pounds, I have lost a stone and a half since Christmas, but seem to have built up a lot of leg muscle due to taking up an hours worth of walking every day. I realize muscle is going to weigh more than the fat, but the slender shape of my legs is noticeable now compared to how they were before. My only…
  • I have it and think its fab, it burns the calories and works up a sweat, here's a link for that site the above poster mentioned http://www.zumbacalories.com/
  • seeing as you have to gain the fat in order to turn it into muscle I would stop worrying and just concentrate on putting the weight on and doing the right exercise to tone up x
  • I always do mine in advance, it really helps to plan ahead then I know what I can and can't have x
  • I don't see any harm in it as long as you do it sensibly. My mum is morbidly overweight and is on slimming pills from her GP, for every 2 lbs she loses they take another pound off - she still has to work at it, but this gives her that extra boost she needs. The one she's on is only available on prescription and she is…
  • explains why we sometimes don't lose weight yet our clothes feel looser - our bodies are streamlining :)
  • it all depends on the persons weight, the more you have to lose the more your body burns, which is why larger people need more calories. here is a good website I got from another member, it tells you how many calories you have used depending on your weight x http://www.zumbacalories.com/
  • i have stuck for about 3 weeks now but my clothes are looser - I think my body is building muscle which I believe is what happens, go by how your clothes fit, as well as what the scales say :) Good luck x
  • If I have 2 rashers (slices) of back bacon on 2 slices of bread for breakfast I feel full all morning and don't feel tempted to snack.
  • I agree. I have pizza, burger on a bun, fish in batter etc BUT I make it part of my main meal and team with salad, beans, or veg. I always try and go for the less fattening, healthier versions though. For example, the pizza I buy is thin crust and only 380 cals per half so as part of a main meal with lots of salad it…
  • I go for grapes, weight-watchers / go ahead cake slices and yoghurts - all these give me the sweet taste I crave without the high calories, sugar and fat content - I assume you can get all these in Australia - Good luck x
  • All is not lost yet, she is more than likely just a bit upset because she heard what she knows to be the truth from somebody else. When she has thought about it she will realize that it had to be said. well done for doing the right thing for your friend, when she actually does something about her weight and manages to lose…
  • Well done! I'm planning to go on a maintenance diet for over Christmas which will give me an extra 700 calories a day. I think just planning to not put any on over the festive period would be better than trying (and failing) to lose. Keep up the good work :)
  • Cereal or porridge oats (oats so simple is fantastic as it even measures the milk for you) loads of fruit, salad, vegetables. Chicken, fish & Fat free yoghurts x Then low fat & low calorie treats such as ryvita mini's / weight watchers cake slices / velvet crunch potato thins - all can be worked into your daily goals…
