I try to log my food before I eat it. We are going out tonight. I know I am getting sushi. I got on the computer and figured out a good option. That is what I'm having. It is already logged. This way, I usually have calories to play with at the end of the day or I know what I can have for a snack before I go out tonight. :)

Now I'm hungry :)

I'm 48 years old, 5'4" tall, and my goal weight is 115.........but I'd be very happy with 117 or 118. I am very small boned. Right now I'm sitting at 125. My highest weight was approximately 130.

When I did my numbers and add them up over the week they are very similar. However, I like the idea of eating a consistent amount of calories every day rather than trying to eat more on the days I exercise so I am experimenting with eating more calories every day and not just the days I exercise. Of course, the whole thing…

WOW, this is a long thread! I'm 48 and an artist. I have two grown kids, 24 and 21. I'm not ready to be a grandma so hopefully that will not be anytime really soon. ;)

Thanks. I'm gonna work on it.

The main problem I see with the way I have been doing it, which is the MFP way, is that some days I eat 1220 and then other days when I exercise I have to eat an extra 450-600 calories depending on my workout. I would rather have more of a stable amount of calories each day. I have a lot of trouble eating that many extra…
That means 1571 is maintenance for you - to stay the same weight. 1571-10% is about 1414, so 1400 is probably a good number for you.
Well but it says my TDEE is 1742 but that just seems like a lot of calories for me. I had already taken out 20% to get 1571....

Thanks. I have already done that. It looks like if I exercise 3 to 5 hours of moderate exercise I can eat 1571 calories a day. I will have a hard time eating that many calories every day....Will I be sabotaging myself if I eat 1400? This is all so confusing to me.

I'm thinking of doing the same. I lost 6 but I seem to have gained 4 back. I'm hoping it's due to my TOM because otherwise I'm going to be very discouraged. I'm thinking of upping my 1220 to 1350 or 1400. When you up your calories like that, you don't also add back your exercise calories do you?

I just turned 48. I only have 10 pounds to lose but I have been struggling with it for quite some time. Feel free to add me if you would like :)

I weigh every morning, not sure why. It's a habit I think. I don't stress if it goes up a pound or so.....just keeping at it.

Yes. I am not a large person, never have been....but I would like to lose that 10-15 pounds to get back in my skinny clothes. I have (had she stopped talking to me) a friend (who I thought was my best friend) who would just get very defensive when I would mention losing weight. Yes, she had quite a few more pounds than me…
