When I was pregnant with my son his dad had this name on his list. He said it would make him want to excel at everything he did. :)

I have a similar background. The first thing I think is that maybe the abuse has changed your way of thinking. Somewhere in your mind you believe you are not deserving of attention. Not even from yourself. Which could easily translate into feeling like you are being selfish. Example (a bit far fetched maybe): Because of…

It happens a lot. I am mother of three & get told all the time, "You look great for having 3 kids don't worry about it." Or my favorite, "You only had your last baby a year ago, give it time it will come off on it's own." My response is usually somehwere along the lines of "I don't want to look good for a mother of 3, I…

[/quote] What are your "5 various other things"? On induction, really, all carbs should come from veggies, and a small amount from cheese (if you want to eat cheese). It's best to avoid all artificial sweeteners, as you're trying to break your bodies craving of sweets. Regarding your question to the old school gent and…

Is excersing while on Atkins not a good thing? I hadn't planned on stopping my workouts for it. I figured the protein would keep my energy up. Eating late is a vice for me too..grrr! But I want to lose weight & that seems like a good place to start making changes.

I believe you about the flack. What's the group called? I chose low carb because Carb's are my go to comfort food so I wanted to go cold turkey & then add them back in as a source of food not an emotional thing. Also it's the way my family has lost weight & they've been doing it in a healthy way for years. As far as my 9…

I understand your stance completely. I always had a fast metabolism growing up. Three kids later I don't & now I'm heavier than I ever was pregnant. I realized I've always been an emotional eater but when I lived with my parents I didn't have many unhealthy choices & that plus my fast metabolism kep it from ever being…

I definitely think the protein intake is too low on the default. With my body type I need more protein to maintain muscle mass. My suggestion to you would be to do 2 weeks of eating the protein you would normally eat and then 2 weeks only eating the alloted amount and see if it affects your weight loss. Sometimes eating…

That's exactly what happens to me...I try to drink the recommended glass before a meal but it always makes me feel ill and like I need to lay down. I have always thought it was from drinking water "in excess" even though I wasn't meeting the daily guideline. I just could never any info to back up my train of thought.

I won't drink tap...only bottled. I've never really been a big fan of soda, if I'm not drinking water then it's tea, milk or crystal light.

I have a friend who gets shots for a herniated disc also and WOW...all I can say is you are one determined woman! It takes a lot to actually get up and do something WITHOUT the obstacle you have. Kuddos to you and good luck on your journey!! :)

I agree with everyone else. It's all how it's dispersed on your body. I'm 5'5" (in the morning lol) and weighed 160 after my 3rd child and looked like I was still pregnant. Even now in the high 140's I am uncomfortable with my weight. But even when I was 118 I still had the exact same size hips I do now...everyone is…
