So you're on an omnivore. I'm not sure I understand your question. It's like a social smoker saying he only smokes on week-ends. So he's not really a smoker. But he is. Hmmm. So you're someone who eats veggies, grains, fruits, eggs, meat and nuts. Why would you need to 'label' your eating lifestyle?

Also remember that many factors can affect that pound or two on the scale. salty food, TOM, not sleeping well 1 night, major workout the day before, not enough water, etc. If you wish to weigh everyday, perhaps log your weight daily and calculate the average after 7 days. Give yourself at least a month to evaluate the…

Snap! You made me laugh! I work for 4 of them

Vegetarian here too for 5 years. On 1580 calories a day + exercise calories, I consume 50-60 on non workout days and up to 80 on workout days (martial arts, trail running and calisthenics). I'm doing great and starting to not only look good, but getting much stronger  Most protein sources come from: soya isolate in…

Word.

In the end, I guess it all boils down to what people believe. Some believe that you must eat x amount of grams of protein per lean body mass, and others don't. Some feel it's too much, and others feel it's never enough. One thing is for sure, everyone has their opinion about it! And seriously, either or do fine in…

Yup. My hubby works in the dairy industry and everyone is pushing Greek yogurt, trying to make the 'best one' available to the population. That's their 'thing' now. So overrated. I mean seriously, we don't need all that protein. But hey.... The fad will pass... First it was fear of fat, then carbs. Then, we pushed miracle…

Love them too! Especially in Salvadorian guacamole. Yum. make sure you work them into your calorie goals. They're fatty, but good fatty

I'm 5'7'' and 42. I currently weigh 158. Looking to lower % of fat and drop +/- 8-9 pounds too. It's working well for me now and I eat net 1510 plus exercise calories - which means on an 8.5km trail run, I'll average 2100 calories. And I'm losing approx. .5 to 1 pound a week. I have a feeling you are not eating enough,…

Use it well. Let it go or be dragged.

Soy all the way! I prefer the taste. And Organic Natura is non GMO. I find almond too watery and the taste a little fake/ overpowering. However, unless you make your own, both are processed and contain their fair share of 'stabilizers' like Xanthan gum and Carrageenan. So, i think it comes down to taste in the end. :ohwell:

^This. 100%!! You have to eat. This has to be sustainable. So aim for .5 lbs a week. It'll take more time but you will lose consistently. I also upped my calories from 1300 to 1510 and it broke me right out of a plateau. I'm 5'7'' and 158 lbs.

Took the words right out of my mouth! LOL

Hi! I'm about to turn 43 and must say that MFP has helped me tremendously as far as what I thought I was eating vs what I really was eating! I started lifting about 2 months ago, and although I do not have a lot of weight to lose (approx. 10-15 lbs), I just recently started really logging. So trail running once a week,…

[/quote]As a fellow nurse I can assure you that the reason previous diets failed to cause weight loss for you and why your current diet did is because the previous diets failed to put you into a caloric deficit. The current diet did. It's the law of thermodynamics. While I agree there is no 1 approach that "works" for…

^This. Gag! Just thinking about it. :noway:

^This!!! I thought I was the only one... struck me, about 2 months ago. haven't been able to go back since.
-
No need. You get enough protein through your food. If you eat correctly.
-
^This! Me too. Fresh out of the brick oven of my favorite diner... oh, I can feel and taste the crust. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and oh so warm... wait a minute! Stating to sound a little kinky here! Seriously...

Yeh, they sell them here in Canada as well. I LOVE the whole egg and just eat less. I could never eat just the yolk :noway:

I'm working on chin-ups and pull-ups. So, during last night's workout, I was able to 'hang' with elbows partially bent for 15 seconds. With no assistance. I know, doesn't sound like much but it was a HUGE accomplishment for me!

Um, so what happens when you start eating carbs again? Or do you not? Just curious...

^This. Follow his advice. He's a dude like you. That has succeeded and given smart advice along the way. You doN,t need a 19 year old girl's advice.

^^This. Love this.

Um, what????

^This. I also quit cold turkey after many years of smoking, reading a book from Allen Carr. Seriously. It's so well explained, it was my go to for a while, after day 1. Best advice I can give you is take it one moment at a time. One day at a time. It's amazing how good you will feel, in such a short period of time. Amazing…
