Oh, I SO understand! I was on Mirena, and granted, I bloated like crazy (I ballooned with water to 8-9 pounds) but that wasn't as bad as the suicidal thoughts, mood swings, spotting and painful cramps that came along with it... I was in a chronic state of 'urgh'. I would do LOADS of research and ask questions as it is not…

I second this question :)

^This - well, similar! I throw in mine one scoop of whey isolate, water, 63g banana, 1 tbsp of peanut butter, cinnamon, 1/4 cup of oats and blend away! YUM!!! 342 calories and 37g of protein.

Here we go again... Just let them be! Why bother? If one chooses to eat plant based, then good for them :-)
-
Yeh, but what's the point? Anyways, great movie!
-
Why is it that when someone asks a simple question about plant based, a non-plant based HAS to put in his 2 cents? Plenty of successful vegans out there @Wetcoaster. No need to give your useless opinion ;) OP, I've seen the movie and liked it a lot. I'm not plant based but I stopped eating meat about 4 years ago. I would…

There is a difference... your tummy isn't as 'fluffy', especially around the belly button area :)

If you research on this site, you'll find quite a few people training for Spartan races as well. It,s interesting to share workouts, experiences, etc... Good luck! They're a blast. Seriously. Tough, but awesome at the same time.
-
I have done both a vouch that the Spartan is tougher than a 1/2 marathon. You have over 600m of elevation, massive uphills, monkey bars, rope climbs, rings, and a dozen other tough obstacles that if you fail, you must do 30 full on burpees. Every time. There's nothing fun about it. It is a personal challenge and it is…

^This. Obviously, some will no believe in it and that's fine. It's their opinion and you're bound to get their opinion on a public forum.
-
They're making smoothies, not juicing. You throw everything in the blender and well... get this... blend them together. No extraction there. FYI.

Um... she's the one who endorses him. On her network. So she's surely aware and most probably banking on it too.

Great! Thanks for posting. I also usually go on the net to find recipes. I also like this one: http://www.nomeatathlete.com/ Loads of recipes for both Vegans and Veggies. P.S. Figures that a non veg/veggie was going to make a comment to your thread.. ahem. Look above :o

^This. I've also been vegetarian for close to 5 years. Great advice.

Urgh. Hated Mirena. From day 1. Do loads of research before you decide to have it put in place Mine was removed within 10 days. It definitely affects hormones therefore, could affect your eating habits. Seriously. Research it.
-
^Exactly! You don't need that much protein. There's a few sites like to the no meat athlete and vegan health that will help you along the way with the amount you should consume. I am doing great and consume approx. .8g/kg of body weight. So approx. 60g per day. I can definitely see changes in my body :-) Check out Frank…

Hi! Congrats on your quit. We are the same age and I must tell you, that I couldn't run 200 yards before. It's been 5 years since I quit. You you will gain lung strength over time. It took me 5 months to be able to run 2.5 km (at a slow pace and running 3 times a week). And I increased from there. Today, I still struggle…

I laughed out loud!

Right. Cuz you're a specialist in this field? BF was measured with calipers. 9 lbs of water wieght? No way. Yes, I understand that when you gain weight it's just not in one particular place. My entire body configuration changed within that short period of time. Look up Prednisone. You'll undertstand what it can do to a…
-
^This. SO good!
-
Hmmm. Some hormones can cause weight gain. Prednisone being one of them. Was on it for 19 days and put on 5+ pounds that continued after, for at least 10 more days. I had a decrease in appetite, did not eat much and yes, I retain some fluid. But my body started to change. With a flabby belly, and after having gone to mt DR…

Same here! Awesome martial art  I still do capoeira once or twice a week and like you, LOVE it!

I'm vegetarian (not vegan) and have no issues getting to my 1500 calories on non workout days and ++ on workout days. I bake a sweet potato (with olive oil, thym and a dash of nutmeg) or pop it in the microwave for 3 minutes. Serve with a side salad, fruit, etc... I love soups as well. Broccoli, cauliflower, mushroom,…

^This. Plus I don't think he's a troll. I just think that English may not be his mother tongue.

^Yes.. I'm a tatt girl

Hi! I'm sorta new... ran a lot back in the 'day' as I was an amateur boxer in Mexico. Moved back home and kept active but nothing much. Until 3 years ago when I ran my first Spartan race. I got hooked on obstacle racing so started to hit the trails and lift. Joined a capoeira school to mix in some even better calisthenics…

Yup. If you're thirsty, drink. If not, don't. There's days when I drinks lots, and others, when I drink less.

^This. Or maple syrup. I do not like the taste of stevia :noway:
-
Love it because: it's good for my heart, I trail run so the scenery is stunning. Hate it because: I get bored. I don't actually like to feeling of running.

Can't workout in the morning ta all. I'm already up at 4:50 am. Not going to get up at 4:00 am! Plus, I don't have tons of energy in the am... I like to take my time, my coffee, etc... I workout at night, between 7:30 and 8:30.
