Log it as circuit training?

Weetabix Crunchy Bran or Porridge. I make both with homemade almond milk (less cals than skimmed milk) and a sliced banana on top :-)
-
Try interval training or HIIT - this helped build my stamina I was able to go from running for no more than a few seconds (really!) to over 8km (that was the last distance type run I did) - I'm sure I could run further if I had the time!

The Bodyrock 30 day challenge is similar to this.

Thanks! So would you recommend it or do you think I could manage without one? I can't just use the actual doorframe as the last time I did that the door kept sticking and wouldn't close properly. What I hear about this Iron Gym is it's not actually putting pressure on the frame?

I just read that blog post - how tragic :-( If I were running at night or early morning I would probably take a little running pouch with something like a personal alarm in it - and maybe a spray or something if it makes you feel more safe.
-
Ahhh, I see, thanks! I have seen something called the Iron Gym, by JML. It kind of hooks over your doorframe - am thinking about buying this as it looks as though it may be helpful for the upper body ones...
-
What do you use for that one?

Spray oil is good for low fat cooking. 1 cal per spray.

Thai red curry using low fat coconut milk and turkey breast, have with steamed veg instead of rice Shep. pie using turkey mince Lasagne using low fat cheese in the sauce and again turkey mince

Yep, that sounds way too weird. Maybe she's lonely and wanted some company, but, still....weird!

All sorts!! For example, I recently got rid of my gym membership and I am doing (as well as running outdoors) the BodyRock 30 day challenge http://www.bodyrock.tv/2012/04/30/may-30-day-challenge-sexy-by-summer-day-1-start-here/ - they have workouts for where you don't have equipment too. After that I am going to try the 30…

Lol, my only chairs are two crappy Ikea kitchen ones - can't see them holding my weight!!
-
Wow, this is beyond helpful!! Thank you so much! :O)

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for all of your helpful replies with tips and suggestions :-) I don't feel so bad now!! I will definitely persevere, and keep trying to get better! Oh and thanks to the follow BodyRocker's reply: It is such a tough workout but I am loving it!!
-
what have you got your ratios set to? i wish i could get even close to my protein goal - even with a whey shake!!!
-
Running is always tough to begin with - and I mean even to begin with the start of each run, not just when you're a beginner! Personally, I find that music works, as does changing your running route and finally switching to something like intervals/HIIT/fartlek - google it :-)

I do strength training (specifically Bodyrock 30 day challenge) every week day and in addition to that I do HIIT running outdoors Mon, Wed, Fri.
-
Bodyrock 30 day challenge! I started it yesterday :-)

I would recommend that you go into a specialist running store and get your feet maesure and your gait analysed. Then try on some shoes. I like Asics; I have a neutral gait.
-
Thanks for all of your comments :-) Regarding cutting back the sprint time - I do actually agree with this as, although I gave myself a minute I did find that I started to stop around the 45-50 second mark... To the person who suggested the Run, Zombies app...I was interested in this for a while and was waiting for it to…
-
It was a suggestion to the OP as he specifically stated he had a budget. So chill.
-
Asics are good but personally I would go into a store and test some out. You can always test in store then go buy online somewhere cheaper.... :-) Running websites like runnersworld and others normally do reviews but you can't beat them on to get a feel for them.

Ok, so I decided that from this Monday I am starting the 30 day challenge! I had a proper look at the site last night, along with all the videos up to day 4 and I think I what I'm doing now... Something I'd be interested to know, though, is how many calories these workouts are likely to burn for the purposes of logging and…

I would love it if we could get a group running where we can start the challenge together (maybe the May one). I am still totally confused about how many and what to do on what days... :-S P.S. I already have one of those gymboss timers from when I was doing intervals with running but I wouldn't be buying the other…
-
Sorry to hear about your ankle :-s hope you get on the mend soon! I downloaded the calendar for the challenge but on some days there are two, even 3 workouts and it isn't clear if you need to do them all!
-
Hey guys, Thanks for the replies. Thanks for the tips for searching for workouts without the equipment too. Am I correct in thinking that each video is designed to be a complete workout, so just one video per day for example? The android app for this is no good at all!

Anyone at all tried this? :-)

Depends how soon after eating I guess. If I'm running first thing I'll just have a cup of coffee then go running and have breakfast when I get back. If I'm running a few hours later I'll have my breakfast as normal then run later and have lunch when I get back. My stomach isn't happy iI eat immediately before running, even…
