I'd go be a pilot. Oh wait. I am. To the guy who wanted to be a pilot: Expensive addiction, but it's worth it.

Someone may have already suggested this, but Stephanie O'Dea's book, "Make it fast, cook it slow" has a ton of great slow cooker ideas, as does her blog. http://stephanieodea.com/

I use Endomondo, its numbers seem to average well with other sources. Just a note - is your weight properly input for the app with the low calorie counts? If it thinks you weigh 80 lbs or something wonky, that would do it too...

I started running at your weight 14 months ago, at 250#. I use a barefoot running style, sometimes in Vibrams, sometimes barefoot. Did the c25k program, then worked up to and ran the Peachtree 10K in Atlanta this past fourth of july. Feel free to friend me and/or message me if you need details or support. I'm within a…

1999 BMW M3. It shakes out fresh dental work, burns premium gas and parts are pricey. But what a fun ride!

You want an orange flavored drink, all natural, but without orange? That's rough. I enjoy lemonade, and when I'm at work, I grab a few lemon slices from the galley, squeeze them into the water bottle and add stevia from my lunch bag. I know whole foods has lemon and lime-essence flavored stevia syrups, you might look…

The folks at Eat This, Not That raved about it as a great alternative to ketchup. I use it a lot...

Looking at a whole day of what I used to eat: Breakfast at McDonalds, on the drive to the airport: Two sausage biscuits and a medium coke: 1,080 calories. Lunch on Concourse C in Atlanta Airport: Wendy's. Baconator double (Hey that's reasonable, it's not a triple, I'd think back then.) Fries and a big sweet tea. 1,550…

You're coming from the background of an experienced runner, with habits deeply ingrained in running with regular shoes. I started running in VFFs, and found it an easy way of doing things. I have short legs (30" inseam) and weak knees, and in trying to get better speed running conventionally, I'd often stretch out, heel…

Sandy Springs here.

I'll be there. First time running the Peachtree. First 10K. Second organized race (Sweetwater 5K was the first). This time last year, I was sucking wind after hauling laundry up the steps to my apartment. Starting back in the X section. Gonna have to step it up to make it to the award ceremony to claim my medal ;-)

There's more one way to skin a cat, and there's more than one way to run. I adopted a barefoot running style a little less than a year ago and started slow - you have to, since it uses a whole different group of muscles. But, there is a lot less impact involved. It took the impact of heel strikes out of my knees, and…

I'm a regional airline pilot; by regional I mean that we don't stay in the glamorous spots. I've started running only in the last few months, but here are my observations: In Atlanta, folks wave back if you're in a residential neighborhood. On the city streets, they think you're a suicide bomber. In Detroit (really…

You know, 100 calories is one of those tiny snack packets. Or a big gulp of my momma's sweet tea. I really don't get tied up over the calorie differences - but I generally let the workout app/equipment supersede the MFP numbers. The bottom line, to me, is that neither one matters. It's every couple weeks when I dig out a…

I log it, but I only log about a third of the time. I.e. An hour of yard work gets logged as 20 minutes. The calorie estimate on it is way off.

Amazing job! The hard work sure pays off!

I feel your pain! I'm in a Detroit hotel, on temporary loan to our understaffed crew base here (I'm an Atlanta-based pilot). Supposedly I'll be home tonight at 7:30 after 6 days on the road.

I saw a pile of hair and bones that was an possum before it and a car crossed ways, a few Canadian geese and that's about it. Then again, this week's running route is all within sight of the Detroit metro airport.

I usually keep Martin's potato bread (whole wheat) around the kitchen. Good protein content IIRC.

My sweetie and I do a lot of cooking. Feel free to take a look and try some of our favorites!
