  • I wouldn't say this is exactly HIIT. To me, HIIT is doing something like jogging/sprinting...going balls to wall for about a minute, recover for two, and so on. Or on the stair stepper or elliptical.....all out for a minute or two, then recover for two. The training you described is more of a circuit type of…
  • Simple...start lifting! Heavy weight....no light weight, high reps. Lifting reshapes your body.....sounds like you've just been doing cardio or very light weight lifting.
  • I'm glad I'm a veteran....no student loans for me, school was paid for...plus a monthly stipend from the VA, However, I'm in the same boat...unemployed for 8 months now. Those of you looking for jobs....try looking in the government sector: USAJOBS.com is a great site for federal jobs....
  • Nice job on the weight loss! 10.5 inches in 2 weeks is awesome!
  • Yum...an avocado burger sounds delicious!
  • Boca vegan burger and pineapple slices.
  • I could do without this workout...I only burned 103 calories today from doing it. Had to go for a run to feel like I accomplished something....
  • Great story!! Although, I would never suggest my boyfriend/husband join me in a Zumba class. One, I think it's the corniest class ever....two, a man should NEVER be caught in a Zumba class. It's a lot like a man drinking a martini or any fruity drink....it's just wrong.
  • Mustard, water, and unsweetened iced tea...
  • That's great! I'm curious to see if my running time will be better since my endurance seems to have improved after only a week and a a half on Insanity.
  • I wanted to slap each of them for acting like kids and whining that it was unfair. Really?! Like the attorney said... it was in the contract that you signed BEFORE coming on the show. And why do you care if someone EARNS their way back on to the finale if they've been busting their *kitten* just like you have?? Just…
  • I think I might go ahead and throw in running on the Cardio Recovery and rest days. Maybe running 2x a week for the first month won't be too much....looks like month 2 is more intense and the workouts are longer.
  • Migas!! Crisp cut up strips with non-stick spray...and scarmbled eggs. Or a healthy version of flautas. Heat them up in the microwave to soften them, then pour a little olive oil....stuff them with chicken breast and bake in the oven until they are crispy on the outside. You can use salsa to dip them in....or whatever you…
  • Ankle/wrist weights are a no-no also. These won't do anything. Just hit the gym and start lifting...heavy enough to where you can crank out 8-10 reps without losing your form. Once it feels too easy, go up by 2.5 or 5 lbs...depending on the exercise.
  • I wouldn't consider bodyweight exercises strength training at all. Insanity is purely cardio. Doing squats with no weight will not build strength....using heavy weight, will. You have to push heavy weight to get stronger. Sure bodyweight exercises may make you lean, but you won't get stronger or put on muscle from it in…
  • These don't do anything but help you sweat more around your waist. The only time I used it was beacuse my recruiter made me cut weight to join the Marines...even then, I don't think it did much. The running 4 miles 6x a week is what made me lose, not the belt. I'd save your money....it's just another gimmick.
  • I feel a little better know some of you are burning around the same calories. Although, since this is just my first week...I should have pulled a higher calorie burn. But today starts a new week, and I will definitely be pushing myself to go past 85% of my max heart rate...or at least take less breaks. I'm so glad I…

  • I'm on week 1 and I did this for the first time today. I was disappointed that I only burned 350 calories. I use a Polar FT7 and I'm only averaging between 350-400 per workout, except for Cardio Recovery...where I only burned 140. I don't understand why my calorie burn is so low compared to others. I'm going balls to the…

  • I do it on carpet...I don't have any problems. My hands usually start sweating, along with everything else, as soon as I'm done with just the warm-up...so the carpet helps from sliding if I'm doing push-ups. I personally wouldn't do it barefoot...more risk of injury. But if you're more comfortable that way...then that's up…
  • I usually wear a hat when I run...with the ponytail out of the hole in the back. And my hair touches the back of my neck too when I start sweating...so I'll braid it. I can't wear those headband thingys...either my head is too small or shaped funny because no more than 2 minutes of wearing it, it's slipping back and slides…
  • I have a silky terrier...I used to be able to run maybe a mile with him before he would just plop down on the grass when he'd had enough. But now, if I even attempt to run...he sits down and won't move again until he knows I'm just going to walk and not run. Lol.. It's a shame because I enjoyed running with him but now…
  • I honestly don't care for either...but #2 is my choice. You can totally dress it up with gold earrings, and maybe a necklace if your earrings aren't too big. I'd personally wear chandelier earrings and a few bracelets. Maybe wear a nice cardigan or bolero to dress it up for the ceremony...then take it off for the…
  • A huge cheeseburger and chili cheese fries....with a red velvet slice of cake. What was the first thing you thought about when you woke up this morning?
  • I wear it below....I have to lift the boobs up to place it, but I've noticed lately that it's been rubbing against me and now I have scars from the friction it caused.
  • Just finished day 3 today! The only thing I'm concerned about is that I'm only burning between 350-400 calories per session. And I've seen most people on the forum burn closer to 600-700. Anyone else only burrn about 400?

  • I'm the exact same way, I hide my bra and panties between my clothes. And I've always wondered if other women shaved before going to see the OBGYN too. The last I went, I unexpectedly had to get an exam done, and I wasn't shaved....embarrassing. But I think it's just more appropriate and better hygeine to be shaved or at…
  • My baby boy Archie, a silky terrier. He hogs all the covers and has even started using the pillow to lay his little head on just like a human. But I would never be able to sleep if I didn't have him in my bed with me at night. :-)
  • Finished day 2 this morning. Love it and looking forward to tomorrow!
  • Hmm.... she doesn't look much like she lifts very heavy....I'm guessing she probably squats at most, 135 lbs. And maybe rows about 55 lbs. To me she's more "toned" ( a word I DESPISE), than muscular.
