  • I have heard great things about this DVD. It isn't for me, but a lot of people SWEAR by it! I get too embarresed doing things like this in my home :embarassed: . I like being able to escape to my retreat and working out on the bowflex with my music turned up loud.
  • I have done great this week. My second week. I have logged everything and been under every time. I have worked out real hard 2 times in the past 6 days (and will again today) but no change. I am EXACTLY the same. To the half a pound. Jan 2nd: 244 Jan 9th: 237.5 Jan 16th: 237.5 Total loss: 6.5 Neck 14.0 on 01/15/09 Waist…
  • I have a bowflex, and I swear by it! I try to work out 3 times a week on it between 30-60 minutes. I also try to walk at least once a week for an hour at a pace of 3mph or faster. I usually take my dogs because they really won't let me quit until they are tired. And they are huskies, they NEVER get tired! LoL
  • Well, I have measured and there is no difference. Also, I do log everything! I have not gone under at all, especially not as low as 1200 calories. I guess I will just give it a little bit more time and keep treckin. If there is no change for another week, then maybe it is time I mention it to the doc. *** sigh*** Thanks…
  • Well, I did measure and there is no difference. Not one bit. I'm not sure what is going on, but I am staying positive, the best I can. I'm not letting it stop me though. Sooner or later there should be a change. I went home for lunch and worked out on the bowflex for 40 min, so that made me feel better.

  • I live in Western North Carolina and am looking for local people (male or female) who would like to get together maybe once a month for a hike to the waterfalls, or hike a trail through the parkway or things like that. If so, send me a message! I think it would be a great way to reach out locally to people who are wanting…
  • I think you are right. It would be better to do it that way anyway, and if it is wrong, I only come out ahead then I guess. Thanks!!!
  • Try choosing higher protein foods and lower carb foods. The protein takes longer to digest and gives you a full satisfied feeling longer. The higher carb foods make you feel hungry sooner because it doesn't take much for your body to turn them into sugars (in turn fat!) Also, try planning your meal for today, the day…
  • Ok, so I have made NY Strip Steak a few times since I have started and when I weigh my steak for 6oz....IT IS WAY too much. It is supposed to be 6oz pre cooked weight or cooked? Anyone know for sure? Thanks.
  • I was told to avoid the oatmeal and cereals in the morning, because like you, my day starts early and I eat breakfast real early. If I eat cereal I am hungry, just about starving by 10 and a snack does NOT hold me over until lunch. I have been drinking a protein shake with low carbs (13 g per serving) and and lots of…
  • Well, according to MFP - my raw banana the other day has 31 grams of carbs. THAT IS A TON for one piece of fruit. I am trying to stay between 100 - 135 grams of carbs PER DAY.
  • I need some help from all of you... I am trying to find some fruits that are low carb per serving. I am happy with eating only one serving, but most fruits seem to be SO HIGH considering what you get. An apple - 34 grams - good grief!!! Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!
  • I too agree with most everyone else. Especially since you have kids, WALKING is a great way to get out, get moving, and burn THEIR energy too! Also, Sparkpeople.com is a great site. It is very similar to this one, but on their exercise page they have demonstrations and show you how to do the simplist of exercises to make…
  • Try sitting down with him and making it clear that you really want to do this, and need his support. Then give him that crooked look and lightly lift your shirt to show the weapon of choise to prove to him YOU MEAN BUSINESS! Good luck
  • We are soooo watching it tonight too! I even figured in popcorn into my food planner for the 2 hour event!!! I CAN'T WAIT!
  • Nevermind - I just figured it out. :blushing:

  • What I need to know is how you guys have the ticker at the bottom of every post. I can't figure out how to do that. Do you copy and paste the html code EVERY time you write a post?

  • I also have 80 lbs to lost. I first went to my doc and asked what would be a good range. She gave me a range as follows: Calories: 1500-1800 Carbs: 100-135 Fat: 40-60 I adjusted my goal page to reflect that. So far, (only one week) it has worked out great!!! I used to only eat about 1200 calories a day as well. I was…
  • Thanks so much for sharing this great find. Unfortunately, I won't be able to eat it. My nutrition logging requires me to stay within less then 103 Carbs, and 49 is too much for 2oz of pasta. I will be stuck eating only plain chicken for the rest of the day. Thanks for the idea though! It does look like a great find!
  • What a great idea! I just hope I can remember to post every week! I don't know my measurements, but hopefully I will find out today at the doc for my first week weigh in. Jan 2nd: 244 Jan 9th: 237.5 Total loss: 6.5 WOO HOO!!!
  • I work a constantly changing shift. 50% of the time it is from 7pm to 7am. When I work days, it is 7am to 7pm. Yes, I work 12 hour shifts, and I sit the whole shift AND it is a stressful job...so as you can imagine, food is comfort at times. When I work nights...here is what I do, I wake up around 2-3 pm and cook…
  • I have a BowFlex, and LOVE IT! But, this site as well as Sparkpeople.com allows me to log my exercise, but doesn't tell me how many calories I am burning. I don't expect it to be accurate, but at least a close low ball number would be great. Does anyone know how I might be able to figure it out? :ohwell: Thanks so much for…
  • My name is Charlene, but most people call me Char. I am 27 years old and a mother of a wonderful 4 year old little girl named Desiree. I am getting married in May to an amazing man, whom I love so much! I have been a member of Spark People for a few months now but my doctor recomended this site as well logging and tracking…
