I use an app on my iPhone called Runkeeper. It uses the GPS in the iPhone to measure distance, speed, and calories burned. You also might want to join a fantasy football league (try yahoo...they are free and there are all different levels) this will supply you with a wealth of football info and keep you dialed into the NFL, besides they're fun and don't take up too much time,
