There are plenty of vitamins & mineral in our fat - this is why we are able to continue living when we are in ketosis. The average person has enough vitamins & minerals stored up in their bodies for 3-6 weeks without food. Some more & some less - just depends on the health of the individual. The body is self-cleansing &…

This might not all be the exact specific way of putting this stuff but this is what I gather & my experience after a 28 day water fast without gaining back any fat & actually losing fat after the fast. When you fast the first phase is your body using up the stores of glycogen that your liver keeps on reserves. This usually…

Yeah I didn't even know fried macaroni & cheese was something people created let alone put into their bodies!! Totally insane. Quite honeslty non of that food even looks appealing. Usually its all about the smell - many places acually add "scent" to their "food" so that it tastes better. How horrible.

8 at a time blended with 2 cups water - mmmmm pure banana smoothie. Best for digestion, energy, & carbing up!!! Great start to an amazing day!! Oh for breakfast & for lunch - YUMMY!! Maybe throw in some dates for lunch.

Sounds great Mccully - I personally suck at juice fasting because it make me hungrier. After a couple days in water fasting there is no more cravings & that's why its easier for me. However - many people are very successful at it. One of my friends - oh and she is on here as well - MoreVeggiesPlease is starting a juice…

Thanks Mccully!! I'm thinking I'm going to break it tomorrow. I want to get back into the exercise routine & I have my annual Dr's check up in 2 weeks. I always request blood work from vitamins & nutrients to see how I'm doing and make sure my lifestyle is perfect. So I definitely want to make sure I'm fueled up for that.…

Yeah you definitely need to eat more!! Maybe take some lovely dates along to work to munch on throughout the day - dates are pure energy & have tons of great vitamins & minerals. Yes this time around went so much smoother than the last time. I suppose its due to no salt buildup, less toxins, and supplying the body with…

Nice quotes from Dr. Graham: Page 47 of The 80/10/10 Diet "Cancer cells thrive in an anaerobic environment, meaning one where the oxygen content is very low. Eating a high-fat diet decreases the oxygen content of the blood and tissues and creates an ideal environment for cancer cells to flourish. When we consume a diet…

Ripe bananas will have spots on the outside - this is when you want to eat them because unripe fruit doesn't digest well & can make your teeth sensitive. You need carbs to function properly. This is why we crave them because that is what your body wants and needs to accomplish everything in a day. This gets into 80/10/10…

I have this all the time :D Very delicious!! I usually top with some raw pistachios or sliced bananas. I even make a raw carob sauce for the ultimate dessert!! 3 dates 3 tablespoons raw carob powder & water blend the dates & carob while adding water until its the proper consistency. Pour over banana ice cream & enjoy!!

LOL yes :) Digestion takes a ton of energy and when we don't consume food that energy can be put into other things. This is why naturally when we get sick we are not hungry...because our body would like to use that energy for other things. Animals don't eat when they are sick and children don't want to either but we are…

Hi Becca!! Food Matters was a great documentary, not as exciting as many that I've seen lately HOWEVER very good information based on reputable studies. This was definitely more of a get knowledge into your brain rather than scare you type documentary. RMcCully, I water fast at the start of each season. I did a water fast…

I wanted to elaborate more on this because sometimes I simplify things a bit too much as we've seen before :) Diet is just one of the many areas of life we need to learn to balance to ensure health & happiness. Here is the actual breakdown of the essentials of life per Natural Hygiene: The nineteen factor elements for…

If you have a particular question you can always talk to Dr. Graham (http://vegsource.com/talk/raw/index.html) However going to a regular doctor is still ok. At least for checkups and what not. You don't have to take anything they give you and you always have a choice to go ahead with a procedure or not. I wouldn't waste…

Sure just look for holistic or natural hygiene doctors. Here is the American Holistic Medical Associations page where you can just put in your zip and what field your looking for (general practice for a regular doctor) http://www.holisticmedicine.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=49 Also here is the American Academy…

RMcCully, that sounds amazing!! Wish I was having dinner with you! My husband left yesterday for a month and I was stuck eating all the leftover produce that he left behind. Definitely some stuff that I normally wouldn't eat but still raw. I should get a dog for occasions such as this! Ummbinat, every bit helps and its all…

CWheat I was thinking that maybe I didn't give you enough info....I don't really have much experience with children and raw food however I know that when kids come to my house they are delighted to get bananas & apples. Kids know whats up. Anyway here is a link to the forums on Raw Food Talk - its the Raising Raw kids…

The best option would be to buy all organic and then buy straight from farmers you talk to. Head to farmer's markets or look up a CSA - just plug in your zip & see if its available in your area - http://www.localharvest.org/csa/ Grow your own - sounds like hard work but you can do it even with just pots. I have cucumbers,…

WOW you have been busy!! Great to have you CWheat & GNME! CWheat, take a look through some of the recipe sites & tips given previously. I do think the hardest situation to be in is a wife or mother who cooks for others that are not on this diet. What is wrong though with increasing everyone's raw food intake? If its good…

Congrats on the juicer - they are amazing little tools!!! When juicing try to keep savory and sweet pulp seperate so you can reuse. For the pulp you can make: Crackers - carrot, celery, cucumber, pepper pulp blended with some soaked ground flax & herbs - dehydrate or you don't have to dehydrate & use for wrap fillers or…

Wonderful to hear Ummbinat!! Your list looks amazingly yummy! As far as some specific answers to your items....(please also remember this is a difficult transformation and while everything might not be absolutely raw and perfect you are still making huge changes and that is the important thing. Over time things will…

Two weeks in! Who's sticking with it? I know I definitely need to stay focused on making time each day to workout - my goal for the last two weeks of the challenge is to do this everyday. I was thinking of maybe setting up a mini challenge for anyone that would like to go for 100% raw for the last few days of the month-…

The great thing about this time of year is that fruit & veggies are coming into season and are cheaper. So that can be a way of easing your husband into this idea. Just tell him that you saw such and such at cheaper prices than you've seen and they looked delicious so you want to use them. Then when the season changes and…
