Thank you so much for all of the support everyone! It's great to know I'm not the only one. My food obsession was definitely bordering (and probably crossing) the line of an eating disorder so I can't explain how incredibly relieved I am to have figured this out. I finally feel like I'm free from constantly thinking about…

I don't eat dairy either, actually I'm vegan - and believe me it's possible. Lots of nuts, seeds, avocados, and coconut oil. YUM! After all, plant-based are the healthiest fats you can get. Thank you all!!!

Thanks so much everyone! I'm so happy to finally have found a ratio that works for me and calms my crazy appetite :)
-
That's a good idea! I haven't been doing protein shakes because I feel like the protein does nothing for me, but I can try that for sure! Thanks everyone for the advice! I definitely feel better about it!

That is good to know! I am in love with avocados and pistachios so it's so amazing to be able to eat them! I used to be in the mindframe of oh, lots of fats, lots of calories so I wouldn't eat that type of stuff. Instead I'd end up eating tons of other crap that didn't fill me up which resulted in me going WAY over my…

@joneallen I've liked Layne Norton's FB page, thanks for that input! @mymodernbabylon I joined that group, thank you! @terbusha thanks for that input on a reverse diet. That's exactly what I will do once this weight comes off. I just find that it's totally not sustainable to have to eat like 1,600 calories forever (I…
-
@GaleHawkins that is interesting! So you exclude even healthy carbs? I think I probably end up eating pretty high carb by eating so many beans and veggies.
-
Thank you so much everyone! @JoanLovell I definitely agree with you that keeping the trigger foods out of the house help. If I had pasta sitting in my fridge right now, I definitely wouldn't be writing this!
-
@clairecrowley1066 it feels amazing to have someone to relate to! Have you ever been to OA? I have no idea if it would help. @auntchellebelle I wish my husband would tell me to stop! I asked him to tell me to stop eating once and he looked at me like I was crazy, lol.
-
@squirrelzzrule22 that's a good idea! I have a checkup coming soon so I will definitely ask my doctor to do that. Thank you! @clairecrowley1066 my hubby does that too. He eats tons of junk food but sometimes forgets he has things. For me, if there's something yummy in the house, it's on my radar constantly until I…

@squirrelzzrule22 I actually do take a multivitamin just to fill in any gaps. I've hard my thyroid levels tested, too, as a teenager - my mom suspected that there was something wrong with my thyroid as well considering how much food I was eating!
-
@clairecrowley1066 thank you so much for reaching out. I opened up to my husband the other night about this, and I asked him how he is able to control himself. He says "I just stop" - if only it were that easy!
-
@sodakat haha no worries at all!
-
Thank you so much everyone. I will definitely check out the resources that you suggested. I definitely agree with the restriction of carbs and sugar/flour being a good thing for cravings - I have already eliminated pasta from my house, and I'm not big into sweets so that helps! @Pootler74 I feel those cravings with rice…

PS I am at least 10lbs heavier than my profile says - I just realized I hadn't updated that in a very long time!

Thank you all. In the past, I've found the only way around the "what ELSE can I eat?" thoughts was tracking my food - but that only replaced those thoughts with "what ELSE can I eat that's within my calorie budget?"... so it really wasn't an improvement overall. What I most yearn for isn't weight loss (although that would…

Thanks everyone so much for your comments! @SoDamnHungry (ha! Love the name) - the thing is, I only feast on healthy food. I do consider myself to be a "health nut", so I always surround myself with healthy foods. I do allow myself to indulge in junk food at parties, but I truly prefer healthy food like beans,…

I have my blood checked every year at my physical and my doctor always says my numbers are 100% spot on. I have been vegetarian for a long time and vegan for a couple of years, and have always had this problem, even as a child, so I know it's not diet related.

I am trying to seek out a therapist - unfortunately my health insurance doesn't cover mental health so I'm having to pay out of pocket which is difficult. I just can't wait to get all of this straightened out in my head so that I can live my life! Do you feel that you live normally now that you've spoken to a therapist? Or…
-
Thank you beamer, I just ordered the book from Amazon! I so appreciate your reply. Did you talk to a therapist at all or go to OA? I am not quite sure what I should be doing, or if I can "fix" this on my own. tigger, thank you. I am terrified of becoming 300lbs. I do know that my metabolism is fast, but I am still quite…

Thank you so much for replying Diane. I feel so desperate and I don't know if you realize how much it means to have someone relate. I haven't been logging in MyFitnessPal. Despite the fact that it absolutely is the only thing that gets me to restrict my eating, I felt logging my food was increasing my food obsession - as I…

Thanks for the input. I'm guessing the scale is probably really off!

Thank you all so, so much for all of your help. I love MFP for so many reasons - and the incredibly helpful community of people is one of them!!!

It's not that I "have not bothered" to answer the question about how I determine portion sizes - I said that I use the barcode scanner. I eyeball and do not weigh everything but I do measure rice, cereal, etc. in cups. Sorry for the delay, I was trying to open my diary to public as so many people have asked. (although,…

Well... I find it hard to swallow that even though I'm spending 2+ hours on my treadmill - running and walking, which you'd think would be at least 500cals - that having a couple of discrepancies about a cucumber being 8" or 9" long shouldn't really affect me much - right?! I mean, I should still be losing something…
-
I started logging in MFP again last week, but I've been consciously adding up the calories to limit myself for a few weeks with no weight loss. I log in MFP using the iPhone app and barcode scanner.
-
I basically start off running and run anywhere from a few minutes to 30min, and then I walk very slowly (so that I can work on my laptop) until the treadmill says 1,000 calories. OH I should have said this - I know that the calorie readout on the treadmill is not accurate, it's just a way I am choosing to be able to say -…
-
I do log all of my food, normally... since cutting my calories to attempt to lose the weight, I just began tracking in MFP again. No, I am not eating back 1,000 calories that I'm burning - should I be? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose completely?
-
Thank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement! :) I definitely have a problem with overeating, but it's something I'm learning to combat one day at a time!
-
Thank you for the input! I'm hoping you're right!!! :)
