  • I lost 67 pounds with the elliptical being my main form of exercise. However, I still wasn't totally happy with how I looked-- but I was in the size 2/4 at that point, so i couldn't complain too much.
  • I am restarting Turbo Fire today. I've been doing it for a couple weeks now, but just picking and chosing the workouts. That being said, my HRM has decided to die on me and I can't afford to replace it right now so I just have been using "Kickboxing" as my workout to track calories. It has been fairly close to what I was…
  • I recommend Trek or Giant brands and I would definitely buy new. As everyone said, make sure you get one t hat fits you. My boyfriend and I both got mountain bikes and road bikes last year. $1000 is a decent budget, especially if you shop 2012 models. Also, make sure you go to as many bike stores as you can and talk to the…
  • I eat Peanut Butter Toast prior to working out. I also drink a cup (or two) of coffee and at least 20 oz of water prior to working out.
  • We spend just under $100 per week on grocieries. We also have one meal per week that we eat out (usually pizza, chinese, or applebees type restaurants)
  • Turbo Fire is much faster paced than Turbo Jam. While they are based on the same ideas, I think Turbo Jam is more dance based. Turbo Fire is more kickboxing based. I don't know about Slim in 6.
  • I had 1 slice of Papa Johns pizza, a clemintine, and an apple. :-)
  • I got annoyed by the scale in mid Oct and said I wasn't weighing in until my birthday (Feb 8th). You have to know yourself to know if that will work for you. I still consistantly workout and eat healthy. The hardest part at this point is that I have lost a few pant sizes and I am DYING to know how much weight I lost.…
  • I think Bear Creek is a shorter course mileage wise, but I am pretty sure you have to climb up a black diamond (since its at a ski resort).
  • We keep talking about doing the one at Bear Creek in PA, but we haven't signed up yet.
  • Buy Dry Roasted Peanuts, Place in Food Processor, Turn Food Processor on and wait until peanuts turn to peanut butter, Enjoy! You don't need to add anything additional, but I add honey sometimes.
  • 24 oz of water, Peanut Butter Toast, and 1-2 cups of coffee...but I also get up early enough to sit around for half an hour before working out
  • I am actually under. Part of that is bc I was being careful to save calories for dessert that I never got. The other part is because I burnned 700ish calories this morning. Oh, and I have another Thanksgiving on Saturday...
  • Which Tough Mudder did you do the first time? I am from PA, but we did the one in NJ in Nov 2011.
  • Just an FYI - I have about 50 pounds to lose and I didn't see the scale move during the first month of Insanity. I was NOT eating back my exercise calories, although I did track them with my HRM. However, I did lose 2 pant sizes and started to feel a million times stronger. During the 2nd month, I lost about 7 pounds…
  • There are A LOT of exercises out there. Find something you like doing. Some people enjoy running, others biking. Some do workout dvds at home. You have to find something at your level that you enjoy or you will never stick to it. What about walking? I do Turbo Fire, which is a dance/aerobics/kick boxing workout at home.
  • I have always heard "People shouldn't be so worried about what they eat between Thanksgiving and Christmas. They should worry about what they are eating between Christmas and Thanksgiving."
  • I am far less concerned about what I'm eating on Thursday and Saturday (which are my two Thanksgiving dinners) than I am about what I'm eating on Friday/Monday and beyond. I now how hard it is for me to splurge for ONE DAY (or in this case two) without it turning into a week or month long binge. I am making specific plans…
  • I work full time. I also am getting my MBA. It's 10:17PM on a Saturday night and I just turned in a paper. Yay!
  • Yep we were definitely posting at the same time.
  • Obvious question of the moment: I know you said "quite small", but how tall are you? If you are trying to lose more than your healthy weight, your body is probably rebelling.
  • Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is going to have a definite answer for you. It's something you need to play with. I get really sick/lightheaded if I don't eat something before my workout. I CANNOT workout in the morning without eating something first, but many people say that's when they workout best. I drink a…
  • Oh, and something else to consider is checking out the other threads on this board. After closing your question, I noticed there are a lot of different challenges going on. There is also someone saying, "I am starting XXXXXX program on Monday, who is with me?" You get the program and then you have a group to be accountable…
  • Have you tried any home fitness dvds? I, personally, love the beachbody programs. I am currently doing Insanity and Turbo Fire. However, if you haven't exercised for a while, I would suggest Turbo Jam (if you are looking for something fun from beachbody). Also, I admit that their stuff is pretty expensive, but in…
  • Ummm, 3 gallons, or 384 oz, within 2-4 hours is A LOT of water. And, I've been drinking over 100 oz of water daily (probably closer to 150 oz since I usually stop counting after work) since 2008 and I'm still here.
  • You will get a lot of different answers for what works for different people. However, for me, it's just about having a plan. I have been in MANY different workout routines over the past few years and regardless of when I'm working out, I just need to plan. If you know you are going to be starving when you walk out of the…
  • I usually list all items separately in cases like this when I know everything that goes into what I'm eating. The only time I do the "pick a meal from another source" is when I'm eating a local restaurant without nutirion info available and I think "Hmm, this is very close to an item I got at Applebees." At that point, I'd…
  • I've never done Body Revolution. However, I have been doing Turbo Fire for about a week now, and I just thought I'd throw out there that I LOVE IT!!! My boyfriend makes fun of me sooooo much for it, and I just don't care. Insanity & Turbo Fire (along with being sick) are the reason I have been on the boards so much for the…
  • Like everyone said, it's your preference. It took me a while to figure mine out. I do this: Wake Up Peanut Butter Toast, 24 oz of Water, and a cup of coffee Workout: Currently doing Turbo Fire in the morning (but I've done all different things here - Run, Elliptical, Insanity) Smoothie
  • No, you do not have to sacrifice that! My Boyfriend and I live together and I cook for both of our and a 4 year old. You just have to eat LESS than him! Make lasagna, only make THIS lasagna. This recipe is for Spinach Lasagna, but I have done the same theory for Buffalo Chicken Lasagna, Beef Lasagna, and Sausage Lasagna…
