Just an fyi, I took a look at the last few days of your diary and you do eat a lot of fast food, which is high in sodium and fat. For long term weight control and lasting changes in your lifestyle, you might want to look at decreasing the fast food intake and eat more of your own prepared foods.

Try Obesityhelp.com. I think you find more support on that website. Most people on this forum are ill informed about bariatric surgery.

This is the essence for everyone who has lost weight and tried to maintain. Changing the mindset, attitude, and lifestyle are crucial for success, with or without surgery.

Even during weight loss, one has to make the healthier choices, learn to eat correctly, and exercise. If people do not do this, they will not lose weight and will regain. There isn't anything easy, either way. Weight loss and maintenance require hard work, whether one has surgery or not. If it didn't work, it wouldn't be…

Here are some stats: 95 percent of people regain weight lost within 5 years 70 percent of weight loss surgery folks keep off at least 50 percent of weight lost after 5 years. Just saying, which stats do you like? For me, it was the second one, and I have been maintaining a 100 lb weight loss for almost 3 years. It takes…

I agree, ditch the shakes and focus on lean protein and green veggies. Cut out some of the carbs, and limit fruit to two servings/day. Are you measuring and weighing your food? Exercise is really mandatory for sustained weight loss and maintenance.

I would start with eliminating the soda and french fries. Increase your protein and switch to a low sugar high protein yogurt. Yoplait has added sugar.

How do you cycle the Bulk and Cut period? How many more calories/day does one need to ingest to build muscle?

The ignorance shown by some of the comments, is quite appalling. WLS is a tool and helps to level the playing field. Morbidly obese people have less than a 5 percent chance of maintaining a significant weight loss. The surgery helps to reset the metabolism, so weight loss is even possible. People do have to make…

Vsg August 2010. I have been maintaining a hundred pound weight loss for two years. I weight train and exercise 4-6 times per week . I continue to weigh, measure, and log my food on a daily basis, which are tools for maintaining the weight loss. I try to eat clean food and minimize process food. Feel free to add me.

I am 59 years young and have been maintaining a 100 lb weight loss for two years. I did sleeve surgery, which helped to reset my metabolism and helped me to reach my goal weight. I log my food everyday, weigh myself daily and take my weekly weight on Sunday. I eat as cleanly as I can, moderate carb, high protein, no rice,…

1. Weigh, measure, and log your food 2. Eat cleanly and minimize processed foods. 3. No soda, including diet 4. Minimize carbs, like pasta, rice, crackers, chips. Complex carbs such as quinoa , brown rice, and sweet potatoes are good for you. 5. Green leafy veggies. Watch fruits due to high sugar content 6. Beans, tofu are…

Anyone have a list of ingredients for Trutein Protein powder? Any artificial sweetners or other additives?

Stay the course. It can take 7-10 days for the scale to show the results of diet and exercise. 3 days is not enough time. I'm sure that you are drinking a lot of water. Intense exercise can cause one to retain water as the muscles repair themselves . I do think higher protein, at least 80 mg would be better than 65. IMHO.…

I am never sure how to calculate the workout. I have used calithestics to calculate portions of it. I haven't found a good way to account for that activity. the same thing with weights.
