Optimum Nutrition - Gold Standard 100% Whey - Double Rich Chocolate I like this quite a bit. Turns skim milk into really creamy chocolate milk when mixed in a blender or shaker. I get mine from bodybuilding.com.

If I put biscuits and gravy through my juicer, does that count? What if I mix an apple in with it?

Short of the caffeine, which is roughly 1/3 the caffeine of coffee, I can't see there being any negative health effects from drinking tea.

Read up on leangains.com He has some interesting advice and perspective on building muscle without increasing calories, or 'bulking'. I plan to give his stuff a shot once I get out of the newbie gains phase.

Marshmallow Froot Loops... man I love that stuff. Haven't had it for several years though. :(

You sir, are awesome. It's great to see someone setting goals, getting the knowledge to reach them, and then attacking them head-on.

Dang... I was hoping to come in here and have a chat about escape velocity or gravity's affect on trajectory... I can't help you with this calorie stuff.

My max back in college, eight years ago, was 245 after just a couple months (which was really close to 1x BW). I just started benching again at the beginning of the month, and my bb.com calculated max is 175, which isn't too bad considering it was 152 two weeks ago. I'm hoping to have quick gains well into the 200s like I…

If you want to get a calorie estimate for weight lifting, search for 'strength training' under cardio and use that to estimate. They don't estimate calories burned in the strength training section.

I have a 10 sheet spreadsheet in google docs that shows every single workout I have done, and plan to do for the next few months. It includes monthly goals, measurements (weight, inches, etc), sets/reps/weights lifted, weights I want to be lifting at the end of a 4 week cycle, cardio, the 9 weeks of Insanity I plan, rest…

It took me a long time to be able to stand up on a spin bike (I have one at home now), and to do it I need the resistance to be extremely high. Try even more resistance when you stand... more resistance than you can possibly push sitting down. Your body weight will do most of the work. For the sweat, I have no idea.

The only thing I remember at home is lots and lots and LOTS of hot dogs and mac n cheese. My grandma would fix me pancakes... If I had to guess, I would say I have eaten tens of thousands of pancakes in my life. I can still put down a ridiculous amount.

I chafe frequently between my thighs. The best treatment I've used is good old A+D ointment. Apply liberally before bed and it should be all cleared up by morning. The best prevention, as scottb said, is keeping the area from rubbing on either clothes or other skin. Spandex, or other long and tight fitting garments should…

Check this out and see what you think. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/calpro.htm It seems really high to me... I know I can manage 1g per 10 calories I eat while maintaining other nutrients properly, so in 2500 calories I can get about 250g protein, and that's eating turkey/chicken at two meals, and having 3 protein shake…

Your own intensity is closely linked with your heart rate... But you can't compare it to someone else's heart rate/intensity. I measure my intensity by how easily I could hold a conversation. At my highest intensity, anything other than grunting is not possible. That being said, the highest intensity I've been able to…

Seeing as how you've lost 55 pounds between November and now, your body is probably just catching up. That's a HUGE weight loss for two months. This isn't the Biggest Loser ranch, and it's not a race. Your food choices look good (other than the few days you had 1000+ calories to go -- need to eat a bit more there). You're…

there are lots of duplicate topics... but that comes with the territory of having so many members. What's more annoying to me are the people that make a topic, don't get the answer they want, and make the exact same topic the next day. :)

I work at a university with an amazing fitness center. Employees can use the place for $10 a month, and if you take a wellness screening once a year you get $100 back... $20 a year for a gym, yes please! I go every day at lunch time.

I think 'The more you sweat the more you lose' is referring to putting in a lot of hard work to lose weight. It's about the duration and frequency of sweating... I don't think it's related to the actual amount of sweat that comes out.

My muscles are always sore the next day, but even worse the second day. Ibuprophen or Aleve work wonders.

I have this one http://www.amazon.com/Mad-Dogg-Athletics-6970-Spinner%C2%AE/dp/B001Q3KOF6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1326471286&sr=8-4 It's awesome. And it's cheaper now!

I like weight training alone. I don't want anyone getting in my way or messing up my rhythm. I use headphones, turn them up loud, and disregard everyone else. I'm similar with indoor cardio. I don't want to talk to you, and if you're talking to me, you're not working hard enough. The only exception I have to this is…

They don't let big muscle guys in there.

5-6 times a week currently. I make it a point to get to the gym once a day Monday through Friday. In that time I'm currently doing 4 heavy lifting days where I'll do a bit of cardio (10 - 15 min) when I'm done if I have time, and one heavy cardio day where I go for the gold for 45 minutes. Sometimes I'll hop on my spinner…

The very act of moving mass through distance uses energy, so yes, weight lifting burns calories. There are lots of different camps arguing about how much, or what type of weight training you have to do to burn certain amounts of calories. If you want to track an approximation of your calories burned, there is a 'Weight…

so... $10 and I'm good to go for lunch!

Eat your 1500, or close to it. If you work out you get more calories to eat. You don't HAVE TO eat them, but it sure helps keeps me motivated to burn a bunch!

My wife and I watch it frequently. There have been seasons where I get disgusted with the contestants and quit watching after a few episodes. I didn't care for Jillian. I like Bob until he gets into Diva mode. I think Dolvett is great! Last night was disappointing. This might be a season I quit watching part way through.

I was off the wagon for two and a half years. I gained about 100 pounds after having lost about 125. It's never too late to get back with it, but the longer you wait, the harder it gets. Go get it!
