I'd log it as dancing... the zumba I've done isn't anything close to high impact aerobics. It's better to round down than round up calories in my opinion...

They definitely helped me when starting my new lifestyle because of the definite calorie counts. Ive been using mfp for over a year now, and I'd say for the first 8 months or so I'd eat at least 1 frozen meal a day. I ended up getting a food scale and eventually I felt confident eyeballing my servings of fresh foods.…

A lot of times they cook the veggies in butter as well, so you can ask them not to. In my opinion, find the equivalent through mfp, then build the rest of your day around that meal. If you have to cheat a couple/few hundred calories, so be it. You should enjoy every once in a while. Do a workout in the morning.

you have to remember you'd burn calories even sleeping for 5 hours. I think the average for a person that size would be maybe around 50cals/hr. If you have your profile set to sedentary, I would count some of those calories, but 1000 seems excessive. Id at least cut that number in half. As the poster above said, if you set…

Thanks for the responses everyone, I already know that I do not stretch enough, so I will definitely try to focus more on stretching.

I would definitely take a rest day and maybe just do yoga for the stretching. Theres no shame in a rest day especially if you've been going at it 7 days a week.

sounds delish! I've tried quite a few of the flavors. My favorite are strawberry cheesecake and chocolate peanut butter!

is it just me or do avocados not have as many cals as people think? For a long time I was logging them as avocado half - 120 cals. Someone in this thread posted that half an avocado was 160 cals. When I bought a food scale and actually weighed a half(without the skin), most of the time the grams in half of an avocado came…

I would return it. I have a few things I bought when I was at my lowest weight after starting MFP. I gained 5 lbs after my wedding and they're too tight now. I'd rather have not spent the money, and gone shopping when I'm able to maintain my weight. I'm still working to lose the weight, and the things I bought are now…

thanks everyone, bump

I had the same experience running. I hit a plateau thinking running was great exercise and that i'd lose weight. I still love running but I try to mix it up with workout dvds.
-
I went with cookies and cream... Im not a huge fan, but its ok in smoothies blended with fruit... any opinions on vanilla?
-
I don't usually wear mine doing any sort of exercise... I don't want to lose it hiking, jogging, etc... my hands get very sweaty and its more likely to slip off. I also don't want to scratch it on weights. I'd rather not wear it for a couple hours than lose something so meaningful (and expensive).

Thank you so much to everyone who replied!! Yesterday before work I stopped at rite aide and got 2 types of bars. I ate a muscle milk bar for lunch (it was ok, but probably too much for every day) and pure protein, which I had for breakfast this morning. I liked the pure protein bar just fine, but I will definitely be…

I LOVE my garmin 210!!!

I hate wearing leggings because they ride down. I prefer shorts but I haven't run in super cold weather. I usually run a little over 3 miles and I bring my backpack. It's a small backpack that I got at big5 for like $30. I have a water bladder, my phone, and ipod in there. Even though it's a fairly short distance I like to…

I ended up on closed fists tonight and it felt ok. I didn't know if that was a good/recommended(meaning not harmful) modification or not, I guess I will just do that from now on! Thanks

I also started getting hives after getting serious about my weight loss, they really put a damper on things!! I sent you a friend request =) congrats on your success!

bump, help

This won't help your situation now, and you probably know this by now, but always request a downstairs apartment. I guess you could go up and down the stairs as a work out (but those can be noisy too!). As far as dvds, you could do dvd's that only involve strength training and no jumping around (or do a light step side to…

I have the garmin 210 and I really love it. It is perfect for running, I haven't figured it out much for bicycling.

I dropped off about 2 months before my wedding too, after I already lost 30 lbs. My best advice has to be focus on working out. Jillian's 30 day shred really worked for me. I didn't do it 30 days in a row. Good luck! Either way, just enjoy it.

I personally love veggie burgers so its not hard for me! I always put lettuce, tomato, onion, and avocado on them... and of course mustard. I also love using spicy black bean patties in tortillas with a lot of veggies and some hummas as wraps.

how weird! and cool

who cares what anyone else thinks... wear what you're comfortable in. if you think its inappropriate, dont wear it, or save it for when it is appropriate. i find a lot of womens clothing is too frumpy for me and i'll often shop in the junior section (im 22). there are also certain stores that have womens clothing that is…

I was worried about gaining weight when going off the pill, but I went off when I was at the peak of my healthy lifestyle change and I can't say it made me gain weight, because I lost/was losing because of eating healthy and working out. If you want to try to have a baby you're going to go off the pill anyway so there's no…

I would start now. I did not do 30 consecutive days(took me 45 or 50), but the results were awesome. It definitely helped my love handles, arms, and legs. It's awesome! Just don't give up, If you miss a couple days or even a week, get right back on the wagon when you can!
