  • Our credit card number has been swiped, too, and we tracked it down to Walmart.com as well. Pretty sloppy security. Lesson Learned - Don't store your CC number on web pages!
  • Just to share my on similar experience - I stayed with the guy who enjoyed my company, but said I was too fat for his taste (and he weighed more than I did!). We stayed together for a couple of years, and I never forgot how cruel his words could be. I never quite trusted that he was being honest with me if he DID say…
  • I was fat AND pregnant, and visiting my Mom down in Kentucky. I told her I was having trouble finding maternity clothes and was feeling really bad about things. She took me to a chain maternity store to look for work pants. They told me they didn't have any in my size. A MATERNITY store. I kinda lost it. "What - you all…
  • Just to *bump* and add this - this is a good person to be pals with! Go Team! :)
  • Short for Almost Heaven - coz I grew up there (Almost Heaven, West Virginia) It's been my online nickname for 25 or so years!
  • Dear Chuck... Please don't wear sleeveless shirts. Love, a fan. But seriously. Don't.
  • A lot depends on who is asking... if it's the nosey lady who's always sticking her nose in my business or the competitive gal who is hoping it's not as much as SHE has lost., I won't talk about it. If it's someone who seems genuinely interested, then no problem.
  • Have they figured your max heart rate and target zones based on your height, weight, and age? That should be your limit-point. I wear an HRM and my trainer wants me to hit Zone 5 (the max) for a minute or two, but then let it drop back down to Zone 2 before we hit the next circuit.... back up to Z 5 briefly, and so on.
  • I just got my BodyMedia a couple of days ago - so far, I dig it! I have it sync'd with MFP so now I'm trying to figure out what to do with my workouts. With my Fitbit, I'd enter a specific workout time frame and calories and then let the sync sort it out -- is the BodyMedia similar? I did a 220 cal workout yesterday…
  • Just got mine yesterday - still wrestling with getting it to sync with my computer. I suspect it's a firewall issue and that's for hubby to figure out :) But this comment is really just to bump this topic for later!
  • I usually see more grown-ups acting up than kids ;)
  • I think the best way to reassure the girls is to show it. Having family activities where you're all doing things together (bowling, board games, Wii games, whatever) will go a long way to building the family unit.
  • Adding more keywords for search hits - Kbells Kettlebells Kettlenetics Michelle Khai From the description on Amazon: Kettlenetics is a dance-inspired kettle bell exercise program that swings, slims, and sculpts your entire body Boy they ain't kiddin! I'm as sore (in a good glowing way) from my kbell workout yesterday as I…
  • I bought Kettlenetics months ago but just tried it for the first time yesterday. I've been working with a personal trainer for over a year and thought it would be fairly "simple" to do, and it kicked my butt! The weight is light (4 lb) but the number of squats and lunges gives your legs a quite thorough workout. Adding…
  • About the time I hit the "I lost 50 lbs!" mark, I developed gall bladder problems (required surgery) and plantar fasciitis - which still messes with my cardio. I thought getting healthy was .. ya know... gonna make me more healthy! :)
  • Mine is Dec. 6tth and I'll hit the big FIFTY this year. WOOO! If I'd known I was gonna live this long I would've taken better care of myself.
  • He'll keep doing this as long as it works. It isn't going to get any better.
  • Hang tight, Mom! My stepson drove me mental at this exact same stage. He hit 18 and simply quit going to school. He did take his GED, but potential employers look at that differently than they would a "normal" diploma - 20 years later and it still most defnitely affects what jobs he is considered elligible for. You and I…
  • Her style is elemental? Not sure what that means... but for "nature" type names... River, Meadow, Rose, Willow, that sort of thing?
  • 1. Do you have a Facebook? Yes 2. What do you like about Facebook? Friends, family, and getting in touch with long-lost friends/schoolmates 3. About how many times a day do you look at Facebook? Very - via cellphone 4. On a scale of 1, 2, 3: How appropriate do you think your Facebook is to the eyes of future employers? (1…
  • I'd be a smart*ss and preprint some handouts that answer all the FAQs. Rather than answer someone's question for the 19th time, just hand them a flyer and smile :)
  • I think i'd make a playful sign like "No Candy Zone" for my desk! There's little harm in the occasional treat, but have it somewhere other than your desk. Having a candy dish on your desk is really tempting.
  • Great thread and loads of good advice. My PF started up after walking on treadmill for several months. After trying some generic inserts and such, I saw a podiatrist. I got customized inserts and a steriod shot, plus they showed me the stretches and icing you've seen mentioned here. I switched from treadmill to bike and…
  • edited since it was "censored" sheesh!
  • Whose poor job was it to weigh the elephant penis? And not just one, but several, to get an average?! No ****in' around!
  • 1. Did you split amicably - Yes, although we were quite good at getting on each other's very last nerve. Then tap-dancing on it. 2. Did you kill each other during the process - No. We have a child and were determined to keep it civil. 3. Was the divorce due to cheating - no, but he was bipolar and refused treatment, so…
  • If you've not discovered this website: thebloggess.com , give it a looksee. Jenny is a terrific writer (her first book has been on NYTimes best seller list!) and she writes about her bouts of depression, too. Her fans often share that or similar issues, and it's a lovely community! I especially love when a seemingly random…
  • In addition to the fun things other people have mentioned: All the treadmill and outside-walking time contributed to plantar fasciitis - so I had to switch to stationary bikes and elliptical After I lost about 45 lbs I was diagnosed with gallstones and had to have my gallbladder removed. They said this was common for…
  • What makes you think I wanted to know that? Have you thought about developing friendships with people your own age (I actually told her that one) Mine (to be fair, this is my ex-mother in law - my "outlaw") talks 100 mph so there's no time to actually say anything - then she'll stop and ask an intensely personal,…
