I shop Black Friday. I'm in a relatively small town, so it's probably not near as bad for me than in larger areas. Walmart has gotten worse (in my opinion) since they started things at midnight instead of 3 or 4am. So far, I'm planning on Walmart for a few small items (crock pot, jammies for the kids, and movies), and JC…

Wed. Check-in 1. Water - check! 12-8oz glasses. 2. Workout - check! Another 3 mile run outside. (2/5) 3. Carbs - check! Yay! I actually stuck to it, even though I wanted to snack after supper. (2/3) Hearts Desire - Aqua Zumba sounds awesome! I used to go to water aerobics, and now that I've tried Zumba, I totally believe…

Great idea. I'm gathering good ideas for holiday treats, and this sounds perfect. Might even try the greek yogurt way. Thanks!

Hey all! Tuesday Check-in 1. Water - Success! 112oz. 2. Workout - No. A little sore after my run Monday (since it's been 2 months since my last run). 1/5 this week. 3. Carbs - Big NO. I was so low on my calories Monday that I was ravenous all day, and only a 700cal. chocolate muffin could cure it! I also hit the snacks at…

Hey Ladies! Checking in for Sunday and Monday. 1. Water - Sun: check. Mon: check. 2. Workout - Sun: no. Mon: Ran 3 miles outside. 3. Carbs - Sun: no, weekends are my downfall for good eating. Mon: Surprisingly good. I'm not sure who all the "regulars" are yet, and have to go back and read some responses that I'm behind on.…

I think I'll join in! Mini Goals 1. Drink at least 80 oz of water. 2. Workout 5 mornings this week. 3. Stick to my carb limits at least 3 days - this will be the hard one! Good luck everyone!

This, and I like greek yogurt, nuts (especially almonds), berries (I thinke they're one of the lowest carb fruits), and almond milk.

Deer season is coming up soon, and my husband usually hunts enough for us to use year-round. I'm getting some great ideas, so thanks to those that already posted. I'll add 2 of my favorites too: Slice into medallions. Fry in a pan with butter until medium/medium-rare (only about 3-5 minutes per side). Top the whole…

I love you, Lorina! I've been silently following your blog, because I get a kick out of your humor, cheer everytime I see new progress pics, and absolutely adore that you're doing it all your way! (BTW, your abs look pretty rockin' to me!) Congrats, and keep up the awesome work!

I haven't heard of this before, but I'm going to check it out. Super cute curls, and I have zero time to fix my hair most mornings. Thanks!!

Gotta find the right girl, I guess. My husband is a terrible dancer, so I'll go out on the floor with anyone that asks me. Swing dancing is definitely a blast. Guys that can dance always impress the ladies, so don't quit asking.

Can't believe no one's said this yet... ask me to dance. No bump and grind kind of dancing, but a real dance, like a two-step, waltz, hell, even a polka will get the job done. When my husband and I started dating, he used to throw popcorn down my low-cut shirts... apparently that works on me too :noway:

It's definitely a challenge. I know people that, like you, consistently do hour-long workouts (including P90X), and still find it challenging. The pace is pretty fast, and she works you hard. If you find it too easy, you could always do 2 levels in a row or increase your weights. I'm currently on level 3 with 10 lb…

Aside from hydrostatic testing or DEXA scans, a Bod Pod is your most accurate way to measure body fat. The extra skin should not be a factor.

I have a hard time finding chocolate milk without HFCS. Are there. Any brands out there that are better than others? Do I have to get organic? Thanks, verysinful, for the article. Lots of great info there!

I try to stay under $150 per week, including food, diapers, household supplies, and personal care items (shampoo, soap, etc.). We're 2 adults, 2 toddlers. We save a lot by having a big garden in the summer and canning or freezing what we can. Also, my husband is a hunter, so we have a freezer full of meat at a very low…

In general, if you combine protein and high-fiber carbs, you'll stay full longer. Carbs will give you energy, protein and fiber will stay with you longer and keep you full. Greek yogurt with fruit, an apple with peanut butter, an omelette with cheese and veggies mixed in, trail mix with nuts and dried fruit, oatmeal with…

I have 2 boys - 3 years, and 19 months. I get up early. 5am or 5:30, depending on what workout I want to do. Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred is a great option for busy moms (only 25 min, and a great total body workout). If you have a spouse/partner at home, going for an outdoor run is great - give them some quality time…

It's pretty minimal space needed. Enough to do jumping jacks, pushups and lunges. Love the 30 Day Shred! Good luck!

Kind of surprised to see 2 guys respond, but awesome! Thanks for the tips. Usually some of the "membership" programs for other franchises are not worth the money, so I'm a little surprised to see the positive feedback on it. Now I'm considering ZIN as well. I'm going to chat with the gym's director next week about the…

Any more Zumba instructors with advice??

Thank you! This helps. I'm in a similar situation, which is the only reason I question it. I work full time, have 2 small kids, and am worried about the time commitment.

Raisins and cranberries are great options. When shopping for them, check the label. Extra sugar is often added to dried fruit.I've seen more freeze dried fruit in the same section of the store, which often does not have sugar added. They have strawberry and pineapple, which might also be a good add-in. I get the mini boxes…

Here too. Gotta cheer for them every week, but every true Vikings fan knows not to get your hopes up when things are going good.

I logged it as circuit training before I got my HRM. I usually burn about 195 calories.

Definitely get a measuring tape to check your inches. Take pictures too. I did the 30DS about a year ago (starting up again on Monday), and lost 0 pounds. Not a single one. I did lose 3 inches off my waist in the first 2 weeks, though. If you look through the success threads for this workout, this is a pretty common result…

That sounds awesome! How does it hold up in the cream? Does it get mushy? Can you buy coconut flakes, or do you have to buy a coconut and make them?
-
Totally forgot about Quaker Squares. Love those too!
