Very neat! I'm going to do some testing soon. Thanks for posting :)

skinnytaste.com chocolatecoveredkatie.com dashingdish.com - My favorite!!

I sent you a PM, but I'll ask this here (since it could be relevant to other answers too): Are you questioning marriage in general (to anyone ever), or marriage to your current boyfriend? I also think you need to decide for yourself if the flaws you described are something you can live with forever, or not. My husband has…

Generally speaking, I think this is a decent way to make a password - has caps, lowercase, numbers and symbols. However, I wouldn't use the word "password" Pick something original and use the same method.
-
I work in IT too, and have users that pick a word (kid's name, motorcycle model, product name, company name, etc.) then put a number after it. When it expires they just increase the number by 1. When I go to help them, I can usually guess the password in 2-3 tries. Unless they have it on a post-it on their desk... then I…

What a great thread topic! Anything intense makes me feel amazing when I'm done. A good, outdoor run - makes me feel like I can go anywhere, and I love the connection with nature Heavy lifting - makes me feel powerful and confident Zumba - makes me feel sexy, and is so much fun!

Another cool thing to check out is http://jog.fm You type in how fast you want to run, and it will give you a list of songs with the right bpm's to pace yourself by. You can also filter it by genre, so if you have a certain kind of music you like or want to ignore, you can!

How does the flax bread taste? I've tried other bread substitutes made with flax, and didn't care for it. Does the parmesan mellow the flavor a little??

Along with the awesome macro ratios others have mentioned, the straining process of Greek yogurt also removes much of the lactose. Often, people that are lactose intollerant can handle Greek yogurt, but not regular. Personally, I like to buy plain Greek yogurt and add my own natural sweetener (usually stevia or honey), and…

Other computer pranks: Ctrl+Alt+up arrow - rotates the screen, so it looks like the monitor is upside down. Tape or a post-it covering the 'laser' of their mouse.

We South Dakota girls don't mess around  Seriously awesome!

Have you had success at the farmers market? We're considering doing it as well. Do you find that the stardard items, like potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers are the most popular, or the "different" items, like eggplant?
-
My parents are letting my husband and I use a few acres (and as much horse manure as we want) for our garden. We're planning on growing a wider variety than normal this year: potatoes corn roma tomatoes onions pumpkins cucumbers summer squash spaghetti squash zucchini green beans peas carrots spinach 2 varieties of lettuce…

Depending on how you're feeling after lifting, you could be retaining water in your muscles (especially if you feel sore the next day), which will not let the scale move, even though you're losing fat. I really suggest getting your body fat tested and taking measurements. The scale is not always the best judge of progress.

Maybe try increasing weight, and lowering reps? Instead of 15 reps, shoot for 8-10; and instead of 10lbs, try 15 or even 20. I love the New Rules book too. They give great total-body workouts that are quick, and relatively easy. Make sure you eat enough, especially protein. I know you just upped your cals, but give it a…

I like to buy the premade Atkins protein shakes (Cafe Caramel is AWESOME) and put that in my coffee like a creamer. The whole thing has 15g of protein. Protein bars are a easy breakfast to grab on the go. Eggs are fast in the microwave, or boil them while you get ready (or on the weekend and keep in the fridge). Greek…

The lunges kill me too! I'm doing 5B tomorrow. Nice work on the increasing weight :)

I had my thyroid removed about 18 months ago, so I know what you're going through without your meds! Definitely get the bloodwork checked, and make them do what you feel is right. What workout are you coming back in on? I'm on workout 3A, so pretty new at this, but loving it so far. Good luck!!

Thanks for all the feedback! alf - Glad to see someone else lifting from home. I'm doing the pullover for the lat exercise too. I am loving Zumba too, and I'm working with my local gym to discuss becoming an instructor as well! beckdubs - Looks like we started close to the same time. I only got two workouts in last week,…

I'm glad to see this! I was questioning if I was doing something wrong, since my workouts felt so short to me. I'm trying to attend Zumba classes on my days off from lifting. I have an elliptical at home too, so I might try to work out a HIIT plan to do on there too.

You should be able to get a soy protein powder as well, if the casein or whey ones give you tummy trouble.

Hey there! I'm in my first week, and hoping I can join you January Starters! I'm pretty excited to get into lifting! I've never done much more than the "machines" at the gym, so free weights (and using an actual program) is new to me. I tried P90X a while ago, but only got through the 2nd level (60 days). This seems a lot…

Hey Ladies - I just started this week, and have 2 workouts under my belt! I'm just curious on a few things - How long does it usually take to complete your workouts? It seems like there aren't that many exercises, and it's only taking 20-25 minutes for me to complete. Does that sound right?? Do you do anything besides the…

I've seen good prices at Cheaper than Dirt. My husband reloads, and uses Midway, USA.
-
Skinnytaste.com, chocolatecoveredkatie.com (mostly low-cal, vegan deserts), cookinglight.com are all good, but my all-time favorite is: DASHINGDISH.COM - Katie does awesome remakes of recipes. Never had a bad one from her :)
-
I have been tested in one, and totally recommend it. It's very accurate, and gives you a great reference point for whatever goals you might have. It's fast and easy too. Check around for pricing. I have a college nearby with one that only charges $10. Other places I've seen are $40-50.

I had my last baby in February (c-section), and ran 10K in July. I'm by no means a runner, and I didn't train very hard, but I didn't have a hard time getting back into it after a few months.

Shannon - Send me an invite, PLEASE! I tried getting a login, and they stuck me on a waiting list :grumble: Love the nails too. I just got a crackle top-coat that looks really cute.

Deer season starts this weekend. Hubby hasn't been out for geese or pheasants. In-laws live in Minnesota, and my father-in-law and his brother both got bucks opening day. I'm hoping hubby fills his tag early!

ladygloria - Thanks for setting up the group! I've joined, and am looking forward to trying the mini-goals again next week! Philosohoe - Happy Birthday! Have a great one :) Meg - Nice work on the dog walk, no snacking, and water! Stufie - All 3 goals met! Awesome! Thurs Check-in 1. Water - check. 2. Workout - No. Looks…
