I've heard from numerous, reliable sources that diet is 80% of the battle. You get that in check, the rest will fall into place. If you can't do cardio EVERY day, that's okay. I shoot for 30 minutes, 4 times a week. Anything else is a bonus. You have to be okay with losing slowly. There is always another meal to look…

Welcome, Michelle! Where in Indiana are you from (if you don't mind me asking)? I'm from Indianapolis, westside actually by the racetrack. Feel free to friend me!

That is AWESOME! I hope he sticks to it! Just keep encouraging him. I'm waiting for my husband to come to me with this conversation. :) Enjoy it!! :)

Thanks! That website looks great for organization tools!

Bumping for later! Love this thread!!!

Bump! Sounds delicious!

Sounds like he's trying to justify the foods HE eats at restaurants, not your child. Your child is just a substitute for himself in this scenario. If he's against burger and fries from one place, why not the other? They're made just as unhealthy. And if he's on board with eating healthy and limiting fast food, a restaurant…

Oh my goodness, I COMPLETELY understand! My last doctor visit, when I went in for the standard cold and needing a prescription, he brought up my weight as an issue and scheduled blood work and everything (haven't gotten the results yet). Hang in there! This might be the "wake-up" call you need. I know I'm categorized as…

Search for some fun healthy snacks you can make with your kids. I found a great one for Bell Pepper Nachos (cut bell peppers [any kind], melt cheese of choice on top and serve!). I love them! Or make a home-made pizza together and load up on veggies. Start making healthy things with them. You have to make it fun or it's so…

I LOVE this idea!!! Will be doing something sweet for the hubby tonight (hopefully leading to the sexy time) ...time to brainstorm.

Absolutely.

That's exactly what happens. And he is generous giving up our living room and one TV in our one bedroom apartment so I can get my workout in. I just wish he would join me

What I'm incredibly worried about is his health. He REFUSES to see a doctor or laughs off the suggestion when I speak up. He hasn't been to the doctor, probably since we started dating. I'm sure his blood work would give us more insight to how his health is being affected, but because he has normal blood pressure he says…

I do want him to change, but I don't expect that I will be able to change him, nor do I want to change who he is, only his unhealthy habits. It is VERY helpful that he is so supportive and mindful even when he cooks the meal. Even when he has bought junk food (which is very seldom) I haven't been tempted to eat them or…

I use "Calisthenics, home, light/moderate" because even though it's a heavy workout for me the calorie expenditure seemed WAY too high (approx. 700).

Jimmy Deans D-lights 1 whole grain muffin, turkey sausage, egg whites and cheese. I love McDonald's breakfast, but this was so delicious! Won't be stopping at Mickey D's any more!

I hate mango too!!! Totally forgot about that. It's pretty much the only fruit I don't like.

This weekend will NOT be like last weekend. I have a bachelorette party to go to tomorrow, but to avoid the drinking calories I offered to be the DD! :drinker: I'm toning my arms for the wedding that's 2 weeks away and I will NOT let myself down ANYMORE! I'm taking control and blowing the roof off!!!! (I know that…

Nothing less than 2% milk Cottage cheese Celery (ONLY w/ peanut butter) This isn't a health food, but I absolutely :noway: cringe :noway: at the thought of whipped cream (tub or spray can). When I was little, the sight of it would make me gag.

I was thinking it was pricey too. Since she runs her own business, do you think it would be fair to offer $1,200 for 1/wk for 6 months? Or is that still excessive? I don't know...I may just have to cut my losses and find someone/somewhere else. Thanks for all the input! It really helps me to see that my husband's not…

AMK- I've heard a lot about "Food, Inc." Would love to watch it. I'm sure it has a similar affect as "Super-Size Me" did. I've never heard of King Corn. What's that?

Arielle- I completely understand! I love my dog, but ever since last night she has been a terror. I left for about an hour after I ate to walk and when I came back she had shredded the subway bag too. Ridiculous. :grumble: Simon- Yeah, I saw how high the sodium was after I put it into MFP. I'm gonna have to stick…
