  • A 4 egg omelet with left over chicken thigh meat, shallots, mushrooms, diced red pepper, peperoncino, real cheddar with my go to arugula, red onion, campari tomato, goat feta, evoo salad with some maldon and fresh pepper, with some San Pellegrino finished with an espresso. 😀 One of my classic keto meals.
  • There's many interpretations of keto diets and many people fall out from one that might not be formulated properly, it's mostly hormonal where the satiety signaling mechanism isn't fully engaged properly, which circles back to how the keto diet is formulated and of course the adaption period varies quite a bit and…
  • Well it looks like 50 to 70% of the American population can include insulin resistance to their metabolic status and it's difficult to pin down the exact % because it overlaps with prediabetes diabetes and obesity and the fact many haven't bothered to find out. For that demographic it is essential to be proactive and…
  • Another carnivore candidate. ☺️
  • Well, you should be discussing this with professionals that have experience. Of course there's many reasons why hypoglycemia happen and why it's important to consult a professional, simply because it can put a person in a life threatening situation where medical care is essential. For example you could have early signs of…
  • Ok, I hear you. If this is a one off then I wouldn't worry too much because most meat cooked to med rare will generally never loose that much weight, not even close really. I've been keto for a donkey's age, over a decade and eat lots of ribeye's and just giving you my experience.
  • Well, there's about 70% water by weight in most red meat and if someone was to leave that meat on the heat long enough eventually you could theoretically reduce a 1 pound (454g's) steak to around 140 grams. Personally I've never had that happen and most ribeye's I cook weight about the same, it's called rare to med rare. I…
  • 30% may not be low enough to elicit the hormonal responses needed in order to facilitate the weight loss that you've probably read or heard about which leads to fairly easy weight loss.
  • I see, I wasn't aware of your health concerns. There's generally twice as much arginine in plant protein compared to meats in general though.
  •  Grade A Amber Maple Syrup! It's a natural sweetener that doesn't spike your blood sugar! ConstanceArcher I've been keen keeping my sugar intake to a minimum and I've used CGM's many times over the years. Yeah, no, it absolutely does spike your blood sugar and for me it increased my blood glucose by 35 mg/dl. Not sure…
  • Ok, this is a little confusing then. Arginine is not an essential amino because humans can and do synthesis around 15 to 20g's a day through the urea cycle and from protein turnover where the amount found in creatine is almost negligible. Anyway, individuals react differently because we are different individuals.😁
  • Maybe looking at specific vegetarian recipe sites might be advantageous for you and then all you have to do is add those ingredients from those recipes in MFP. Just a thought. For example I'm keto and eat predominantly animal protein and I would never count on finding properly formulated keto recipes here.
  • A lot harder simply because I would be all over the food from street vendors in Taiwan. 😃
  • Yeah, creatine serves a different purpose creating ATP that allows for more energy if applied properly during high-intense activity. Creatine being a compound made up of three amino acids: arginine, glycine, and methionine and not a complete protein which doesn't provide the array of amino's required for muscle synthesis…
  • I'm low carb which is mostly, almost all food are whole foods, which you might find interesting and many recipes would compliment a diet that isn't low carb.
  • Thanks Ann and agree with your basic premise. If a person was already consuming a mostly whole food balanced diet then they would generally be consuming enough fiber where they more than likely are getting enough. Unfortunately the vast majority of the US population is consuming around half, 50% of their calories from…
  • It's an average and it would be a fluke if an any actual piece of fresh produce actually corresponded with whosever data base. All you can do is be reasonably close and how much a person eats and how much they actually burn is also just a guess and the closer you are the better off you are of achieving your caloric goals,…
  • Depends on the individual, I got rid of all my IBS symptom problems like constipation, bloating, gas and cramping by removing fiber to a much lower amount which made for a much better microbiome for me.
  • 4 eggs with a 7oz hamburger patty from my own grinding and a small salad of campari tomatoes, red onion, goat feta, evoo and some sea salt, a double espresso and a full glass of agua.
  • I enjoy shopping, a lot, and of course I love to cook so ordering meals or food from an app makes me throw up in my mouth a little. I will admit though that for some people it might be the only time they take it upon themselves to eat healthier or are part of the growing cooking illiterate, where some help is appreciated.…
  • Yeah, too much water is also not good. I drink coffee and have a conical grinder to prove my dedication.
  • Yeah, Marc Lore is an interesting guy but not prepared to give Walmart my AI generated diagnostics so they can feed me based on what they contend good health is. I'll call that meal "pie in the sky" and maybe he can use the residence of the future cities of Telosa he want to build. AI generated diagnosis is definitely the…
  • Yeah, I mentioned the May 2024 thing 3 or 4 days ago. Quoting is impossible it seems.
  • Have a good sleep. ✌️
  • Because humans have been consuming avocado's for thousands of years. Deer can munch on hemlock, humans can't. Pigs can ear certain mushrooms that are deadly to humans, goat's can eat poison ivy, humans could find it fatal. What your referring to are the hundreds of compounds found in plant material in general that can't be…
  • Are avocado's toxic to humans? Did you not read my earlier response in regards to cultural differences that might be toxic as opposed to individual susceptibility, you like to move the goal posts a lot.
  • Not sure where your going with this. I'm a person, not a culture.
  • Losing weight will result in fewer metabolites or compounds that are shown to be an issue for good health especially when overconsumed, so eating less of these antagonists will aways result in improved health markers and really has nothing to do with eating McDonalds.
  • Yeah, we are not dogs and there will be biological reasons that are inherent to a particular animal and other animal species which are not applicable to the human animal. It's mostly through the the ability of liver enzymes that are capable of metabolizing persin, which is the compound in question into harmless byproducts…
  • I'm sure the data will show some do have fluctuating weight gain/loss. Wait and see what happens and if you continue to gain weight over the few weeks or a month, see your doctor.
